>Patent for integrated stabilizer. The barrel, bolt, and magazine are all floated for stability. What's the use case for something like this in a firearm? Some cyberpunk auto aim gun? Zero recoil system?
>>65372757>What's the use case for something like this in a firearm? The patent should describe that.
This particular system appears to be an auto aim system
>>65372757>use caseprobably "stability"
I'm thinking its to reduce POI shift as your barrel heats up. Like its free floated initially with less than a mm clearance around the barrel, then as the barrel softens it rests on the gasket which puts a limit on how much it can warp. But for the weight of that little suspension bridge, you could just have a thicker barrel profile, and I'm inclined to think that having a new point of contact come into play when the barrel is hot will just exacerbate the issue, like instead of a consistent droop along the barrel youre going to have it bending against a single point. could be wrong though.

Can't see it working in a man portable system because though recoil impulse is fairly consistent POA shift is almost entirely on the human shooter. I don'tthink there would be any merit at all in mechanical recoil stabilising, the isrealis tried that a bunch of times with the tavor and they all weighed too much, interfered with reliable cycling and didn't deliver much. Looking at the mussel break if it's something like that it can go straight into the trash with all the othersMost auto aim systems have some kind of laser sight which optically tracks the target, and you hold down the trigger and kind of search for the point your rifle is parallel to the tracked target and the gun fires automatically. This makes far more sense then trying to move the barrel. The isrealis built turret snipers like this a decade ago for assassinating Iranian civilian scientists and military figures, now those did actually have barrel servos. The patent is probably only for the servo system so the furniture might just be illustrative or a red herring.
If this is related to the isreali robot sniper dogs, whopper junior tech.
>>65372838It's Chinese
>>65372838Finally, a robot shitbull.
>>65372757Bullpup?Thought China retried those
>>65372757You'd need a smart-sight capable of acquiring and tracking targets independent of the user. Might be useful on an aircraft where you can't fit a turret or a casemate mount on a tank but I'm not seeing too much use.
>>65372757Why not make it shoulder mounted and belt feed from backpack and have your hands free to stuff your face and jacking off at the same time.
>>65372757Look up optical image stabilization. This is the same concept applied to a gun. It's probably not actually useful unless you were to float the optics rail with the action.
