If you rotated into a unit that had <12 months left on its deployment what happened to you? Did you go home with the unit or were you assigned to another unit?
i don't know much about the vietnam war, but from the few documentaries i've seen, the unit never leaves, instead individual soldiers get rotated. if a soldier is done with his deployment, he goes home and another soldier takes his place.
