Asymmetric aircraft are the best, but sadly most designers are too smoothbrained for them.

Just a reminder that Microsoft are porting Crimson Skies to PC. That is all.

Technically, tons of single engine propeller planes have asymmetrical tails to counteract the torque.

That's minor.
Do any of them have their center of thrust as far above their center of mass as the A-10? I don't think so.

How the poor bastard slash pilot get inside?
...and, taking into account who, when and where designed that... apparatus, I guess the question of how the occupant can escape that contraption in case of some troubles while in air is kinda silly one, right?

This was planned as an A10 light. It had a 25mm gatling cannon on the right hand side of the fuselage. Thats why it was built asymmetrical in the first place - the shield of the fuselage prevents the turbine from ingesting the propellant gases of the cannon and stalling out, which was and is a major headache in the A-10 Thunderbolt.
>>
>>65382316
I didn't even notice the cockpit was at the back because I kept looking for it at the front. It would be pretty weird to see your entire "jet" from the cockpit.
