Going off muzzle down is only a danger on a multi level structures and not a danger to the user. The hammer and sear is locked in place by the thumb safety, if engaged the hammer and sear cannot move so you can play frisbee with a loaded 1911 cocked and locked and nothing bad can happen. Even if the thumb safety is off, the grip safety prevents the trigger bow from moving. Preventing the trigger bow from getting enough inertia to pull itself if dropped muzzle up - something the P320 did not do and was the reason they weren’t drop safe. Both the grip safety and trigger bow are supposed to be under spring tension so they cannot just shake loose. I guess if the thumb safety is not engaged the hammer and sear can be jostled if they did not have enough engagement (shitty trigger job) but the sear spring should be heavy enough to prevent that unless someone weakens it (shitty trigger job).
