No innawoods bullshit, how does one genuinely survive this shit and the coming years?
Innawoods bullshit is the only way to survive MAD, every population center is going to get nuked.
>>65380345most niggers doing innawoods will probably die of radiation poisoning from radioactive fallout
>>65380342Whatever the remaining government tells me. There is no protocol, and I am insignificant in the conflict.
>>65380342>No innawoods bullshit, how does one genuinely survive this shit and the coming years?Imma level with you, brother anon. You don't want to survive a nuclear war. The life you'll have after somehow escaping the blast and radiation, will make you wish you were gone with the blast wave.
>>65380342>how does one genuinely survive this shit and the coming years? Why would you want to?What level of survival are you prepared to accept?Maybe you can live for a while afterward but unless you have a megabunker with extensive hydroponics and go totally vegan maybe with some eggs; the food you eat, including stuff you hunt or grow yourself, will get contaminated sooner or later. You're basically still going to die of radiation related cancers or whatever in a while, assuming a cut finger doesn't take you out because your antibiotics expired a year ago and so have all the ones you could possibly loot.
>>65380390>You're basically still going to die of radiation related cancers or whatever in a while, assuming a cut finger doesn't take you out because your antibiotics expired a year ago and so have all the ones you could possibly loot.This.
>>65380386>make you wish you were gone with the blast wave
>>65380345Innawoods bullshit is in no way a way to survive. There isn't going to be any food left after a single month, and any warbands or groups of survivors will come and rape you.The only way to survive is to be a part of a strong enough group to sustain itself through and after the collapse.Survival is found in numbers. You can not and will not survive on your own, or with your family. You need a community.
>>65380342>no innawoodsIf you're a urbanite your only hope is to die in the flash: the modern world is so interconnected and has so many points of failure it's not even fun. First thing to go is the grid, since all powerplants are a strategic target, and without a baseline the grind just won't stay up. No electricity means no refrigeration, no telecommunication, no advanced hospital care, no fresh water supply, no waste water management, just to name a few. Then all petroleum products disappear because all refineries are strategic targets, and without those you can say goodbye to backup generators, high volume transports, intensive agriculture, again just to name a few. You can see how such an event would spell death for the vast majority of the global population, and those who remain probably won't be able to get back to the starting point in centuries since you can be damn sure most knowledge will be lost with the death of scholars and professionals, and with digital data becoming inaccessible, and textbook becoming ash.
>>65380342Keep calm and adapt to changing circumstances.Yes, it sounds trite. But most of the damage from a Global Thermonuclear War (at least in the US) would be economic chaos as a result of mass panic. Most of the deaths would be from Famine and Pestilence, not War. And how you survive will depend on when, where, and who you are, and what your community is like. Thus, there is no generic advice that I can give you, other than staying as calm and rational as you can, and adjusting to your specific circumstances. For most people, your neighbors will be a vital resource, and I don't mean looting them.
>>65380342Move to Oregon
>>65380342Prepare for innawoods bullshit, for one.Get weapons, obviously, but you need to prep to do as much as possible on your own. Get knives. Spare ones, too, in case one breaks or gets lost or stolen, or maybe you want to trade one or give it as a gift. Ammunition - you literally do not know when or if you will get more. Just general survivalist and disaster prep stuff tuned up to 11.If you're really concerned, then try living away from immediate nuclear blastzones butNone of this will save you in the long term - eventually, you'll need friends, or ideally you can find them beforehand - but for personal preperation it's all about being thorough and redundant. Also, learn as many useful skills as possible.Ultimately, it's impossible to know what a post-nuclear world would look like, or how it would develop, so, to re-iterate, you need to prepare as much as possible for the worst outcomes, that is total societal breakdown.

Basically, any solid mass, be it dirt or concrete will drastically decrease your likelihood of exposure to radioactive fallout. Stay inside as long as possible. Per the 7/10 Rule, radiation decreases approximately 10% per every seven hours. After 3-4 days, it'll be safe to go outside for short periods, after a week or two, radiation is basically back down to levels where at worst, you'll have a somewhat elevated risk of certain cancers over a 40 year period (i.e. you can spend extended time outside without immediate risk of ARS, but you might be cutting a few years off your life).DO NOT consume any food or liquids that were outside at the time of impact. If you were outside, get rid of your clothes if possible.>long-term post-impactidk, good luck nigga lol
>>65380445To be pedantic Russia would be Alta China.
if you can avoid the radiation from nuclear bombs dissipates faster than you would think. if you can stay from it for 3 days at minimum youre better off than you think, and if you can stay away for a month youre way better off. Ive been too lazy to post them here but I have a old deck of flashcards from the US navy on how to handle the aftermath of nuclear war. It's more mundane than you'd expect. Radiation is a killer but one you can avoid with time and or equipment. The real killer from a nuclear bomb is the blast, the fire storm(thats what killed most of the japs), and the destruction of logistics. So being Innawoods. Youd survive the blast (probably), youd survive the fire storm but that depends on where innawoods you are, and youd survive the radiation most likely, especially with some precautions. The logistical breakdown is where it gets hairy. Youre better off than most but now you have to worry about "most" wanting what you have.

>>65380601>Youre better off than mostFor a single month at best. There is 0% chance of long-term survival living innawoods, because hunting and gathering fundamentally can't sustain modern populations.Even if technically it could sustain a post-collapse population, there is going to be so much overhunting for the sake of building up stored meat, that the wilds will be entirely depleted of meat. We've seen this happen in rural American communities where the local job provider went out of business; the entire local deer population got wiped out. You NEED agriculture and animal husbandry to survive. And for that purpose you need a community for the sake of protecting the agricultural efforts and animals you have. This dynamic fundamentally creates a feudal system, where the local warlords and the people willing to actually FIGHT to protect these efforts gain power over the rest of us.

Any colonization effort requires a large population that has a strong vitality and belief in themselves to be successful. That comes from said in-group out-group dynamics. Not some wu wu objective morality bs. Not to sound like an accelerationist but the most important aspect of any people/empire is having a strong collective will and belief in themselves. When that wanes, it doesn't matter what you drag and drop from the top, nothing will fill the void. This is why commies are not serious at all, the dominate liberal global trade order is floundering right now, and rising groups like Christian nationalists will soon learn that you can't just brute force a religion onto a people that don't care, you just end up with religious dogma, or rather; it wasn't the religion that built cathedrals, it was the strong will of the people that did, a people that just so happened to have Christianity as the dominate religion at the time. In order to re-vitalize a people or have a new people rise, that typically only comes from out of the ashes of an old decayed people. Where the natural selective pressures have reemerged i.e. a nuclear fucking war has happened.

Step 1: move to a place where prevailing winds will not carry radioactive fallout overheadStep 2: build a HEPA-filtered basement shelter that can support you for 14 daysStep 3: spend money on non-perishable food and other essentials, and store them in ideal conditionsBasically, *** your labor will NEVER GO FARTHER than it does RIGHT NOW ***when it comes to acquiring food and clean water. You can swing by Sam's Club or Costco, get huge bags of rice and pallets of dry beans, and survive for a decade with a surprisingly small investment.
>>65381335That map is bullshit. A lot of downtown cities and even entire states wont have a single nuke land in them. And the radiation would be far worse from the silo fields.

>>65381379Not to sound like a gay communist but the whole reason why civilization exists in the first place is because you can create a surplus of resources generated by labor that can then be utilized for however the group as a whole sees fit i.e. it takes an army to keep an army going. Just like with collecting taxes, a state entity is able to pool resources in order to not have to take on the full time job that is survival via foraging, hunting and gathering. This is all to say, what point is there to having bunkers when you have wiped out the means to sustain your organization and really just yourself without you having to actively expend immense time and effort by doing it yourself? Bunkers just give you the means to increase the odds of survival past the initial exchange. You still need to come out of the bunker and have some type of organization to take control of in order to still qualify as being an "elite".

>>65380342>how does one genuinely survive this shit and the coming years? It all depends on where you live now. There is a book called Strategic Relocation where the author covers a lot of relevant info if you live in the US. But its better to live in the Southern Hemisphere in a less populated area with water, good soil, and good neighbors. Most people are not interested to learn about the various nuclear war policies by the various powers, most important of which is the US. It has always been US policy that if the US and Russia get into a nuclear war the US is going to strike all of its 'enemies' so they can not win if the US 'loses.' So the US will strike Russia, China, NK, and Iran at minimum, but there are probably others. So in response China and NK are going to strike back. Then of course you have England, France, Israel and who knows what the retarded Indians and Pakis are going to do to each other. That is a lot of nooks going off in the Northern Hemisphere all in about an hour. Tactical, strategic, and theater nooks will all be used as the war starts and conintues to escale. You pick shows a tiny simulated nook, the scale of 500kt to 2mt thermonuclear explosions is insane. There are going to be endless fires spewing radiation everywhere in the atmosphere for weeks. It might be best to just grab a beer and watch the show at ground zero.
>>65381335This is another poof why cities are for losers unless you earn significant money to make it worthwhile. Dense city, you're looking at a 9mm and carbineSuburb? Here the logistics are both better and worse with some room for a rifle. Rural, this is where the raw resources are made by the grace of god. City is evac. Without durable fixed point of defense, you can only carry 1 Long Arm with a cover and One pistol. Carry a lock and cloud storage a record of your ownership and essential documents. Maybe an airport luggage tag. All else is car.Disaster Recovery Personal Protection Act of 2007 Under 42 U.S.C. § 5207, no federal, state, or local official involved in disaster relief or receiving federal funds can seize legally possessed firearms. You're looking at ONE, multi range, multi-purpose, scoped with rail light AR-15 OR One 12 guage shotgun OR your heirloom scoped rifle and ONE pistol under your jacket to transport yourself from disaster to shelter and food. I'd recommend one fine AR-15 and as many magazines of 5.56x45 NATO M193 that can be carried with a reserve 50 cal canister of M855. A 30 cal can of hollowpoint bulk reserve full 50 cal can of 9mm 124 FMJ. A small pouch of 5 or so magazines to carry with Hollowpoint 9mm. That's Overkill, but will serve you through a true nuclear disaster until lawful authority resumes safe trade and public services. A Telescoping Long rifle with a 30 cal can filled with 7.62x51 (.308) or whatever it uses. 12 guage shotgun. Resuming trade, neighborly trust, and business as usual will be the most important task. Wholesale war and ropes against marxist radicals, the disinherited trust fund ideologue kids that couldn't hack it, attempting to use anarchy for the revolution to steal your food, shelter, water, daughter will be the first and most important use of firearms. If Putin Drops the Nuke, we are going Total Hippie Removal of annoying Basedjack and the UN and domestic law can't do shit about it.

>>65380603>Neither of those were hit with the level of radiation your average MIRV is capable of generating.Incorrect, Hiroshima and Nagasaki were pure fission bombs with a very low fuel efficiency. They produced a lot of fallout from the bomb itself, and they detonated at a rather low altitude with a pretty low power output. The fallout should have been quite substantial. Modern nukes are fission-fusion devices where the fusion reaction generates a huge fast neutron surplus, this surplus generates a great increase in the fission rate, the fission energy released feeds back into the fusion rate. The resulting increase in power output means that the ideal detonation altitude for maximum blast radius increases and that the hot air bubble generated by the detonation also becomes much larger and hotter. Post detonation this hot air bubble from the fireball will carry the bomb remains and the irradiated air high into the stratosphere where short lived highly active isotopes decay safely and the remaining fallout is dispersed over a large area. Its ground (low altitude) detonations that generate copious amounts of fallouts. F.ex counterforce targets like nuclear missile silos, where the warhead is meant to detonate as close as possible to the silo. Something similar applies to military bases where nuclear weapons are stored, the logical attack here would be to have the warhead detonate as close as possible to weapons storage bunkers. Its these detonations that will generate a lot of fallout. Against cities, its high altitude detonations and these will not be an issue with regards to fallout. >>65382881>>houses made out of sawdust and glue will first ignite and burn like a furnace and then be shredded by the blast wave>>flames and embers will move faster than the blast shockwaveThey will ignite from thermal radiation from the nuclear fireball. The most dangerous people are the surviors with real training and combat experience who know how to assault a position/home and if there is a couple of them you chances are slim.
>>65382267>they detonated at a rather low altitude with a pretty low power outputnot correct, these two bombs were detonated at a relatively high altitude (about 1,800') considering their weak output. The altitude was chosen for blast effects not radiation poisoning. The modern versions are much more powerful and the US 'sponge' concept was to build many dispearsed silos in three areas that require the Russians to use two groundburst MIRS per silo to attempt to destroy the ICMBs in, or just out of, their silos. So there would be hundreds are very large ground detonations across the midwest, plus combinations of ground and air detonations based on repeatedly hittinging the same targets to attempt to ensure their destruction (underground military or civilian controll or supply bases). There is going to be a LOT of radioactive fallout generated by all the ground detonations.
Sure the fallout will even out in a 14 days, but what about the nuked nuclear plants, chemical plants, chemical weapons, bio weapons and every disease spreading after the fall of hygiene. Those will last a lot longer than the feared fallout.

Being exposed to these specific pathogens improves your body's immune response. What this means is that by going /out/ and intentionally giving yourself minor injuries in a controlled setting (the modern world with modern healthcare) then you are literally training your immune system to better respond to these infections. The guy who dies from a minor infection in a theoretical apocalyptic scenario is dying because his immune system failed to fight off whatever pathogen infected him. >>65383475>isn't a sensible tradeoff. It makes sense to go for the silos if they believe their warheads can get there before the missiles are far enough out of their silos to survive the explosions. >>65384127>It makes sense to go for the silos if they believe their warheads can get there before the missiles are far enough out of their silos to survive the explosionsit doesn't even make sense in this case because US silos only carry a single warhead each and would need multiple warheads to defeat even in the unlikely scenario where their missiles do hit the unemptied silos. this would require most of their arsenal to do and would leave them mostly disarmed against the remaining 2/3rds of US nuke arsenal that is housed inside SSNs in return, plus all the bombers.>What is not known well is just how many active land based and sub bases missiles and the total warhead count they have on 'combat status' for immediate launch.they've exited START to hide the shrinking state of their arsenal, which already looked bleak while they were declaring it.for example, half of their subs are 1980s vintage with barely updated liquid fuel missiles, those subs never going on patrol and sitting in port without crews all canned and only opened up for occasional propaganda shots for which they juggle crews between them. the other half are boreis holding the bulava slbm which has had quite a string of failures in tests during development and in recent years.the land part is slightly better, mostly relying on thei MIRV-ed topol variants but a third of their land based warheads is housed in SS-36s which haven't had a successful test launch since they invaded Ukraine in 2014, the country they had a contract for maintaining them with. naturally these missiles were already on lifecycle extension by that time and even they are still newer than the shit russians keep in reserve without warheads.so in all likelihood china might have already overtaken them as far as the number of warhead goes, depending on how many missile silos they've filled.

If we're at that level, might as well add Moses Lake as well since their airport is a secondary field for the 92nd and 141st ARWs, Paine Field, Boeing Field, etc

>>65380342If you lack a group of friends skilled in survival techniques—such as animal husbandry, agriculture, engineering, mechanics, and medicine—and do not have a bunker located in the southern hemisphere, you are fuckedConsider a scenario where 1,000 nuclear bombs are launched, with 20% failing and 30% being intercepted. This would leave approximately 500 bombs, most of which would target strategic locations like ports, key transportation routes, power plants, dams, and military and communication facilities. At least 200 of these bombs would strike major cities around the globe, including Dhaka, Jakarta, Tokyo, Delhi/Mumbai, Cairo, Seoul, Beijing, Paris, Berlin, London, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Moscow. In the initial hours, between 400 and 600 million people would perish. In the following months, billions more die due to the breakdown of global transportation and logistics, along with the effects of radiation, famine, and disease. This assessment does not even factor in the potential destruction or damage to nuclear power plants, which could lead to widespread contamination of the air, water and land over thousands of kilometers, as well as issues like acid rain, radiation exposure, increased cancer rates, birth defects, and the societal collapse that would result in violent struggles for dwindling resources

>>65380342Just don't live in a city and you'll be fine. Nukes of today are considerably smaller and cleaner than those fearmongered during the cold war and detection/interception technology has come a long way, specifically in the US. Society would not collapse, instead you would immediately be drafted into WW3. Now a biological attack? That's where it gets a little tricky.
>>65380342By not living in a city. In fact, a nuclear war would be to America's benefit.
>>65386831>Your children dying of dysentery and starvation would actually be a good thingYou have no idea how bad things would actually be.
