If you had a legally owned machine gun, is it legal in any State to CC it? Are there extra considerations?

Set aside practicality and retardedness, is it something you could legally do? Would it matter if it's a transferrable or post-sample?
>>
Aren't post samples exclusive for dealers/whatever mil or law agencies to own? Doubt you could get away with that
>>

If you can afford a machinegun you can afford to ask a lawyer in your state.
I'm sure the DA would try to fuck you if you actually used it but legallity of carry is going to be messy.
>>

Well, legally speaking there's only one case to set the precedent for using a machine gun in a self defense shooting so its very likely there isn't an answer on the books since nobody has considered such a thing. I would hazard to guess that if the gun is legal to own and it was a clean shoot that it doesn't matter of you shot the guy with a G18 or a colt walker

Case law is on the full fun side.

This retarded argument again?
There has never once been a single case in the history of the United States where the firearm used turned a justifiable killing into a homicide.
If you have a completely legal weapon like OP said, doesn't matter if it's semi auto, bolt action, full auto, a revolver, a breach loader, a muzzle loader. Doesn't fucking matter, doesn't matter if you put punisher grips, muzzle brakes, lights, better trigger, IT DOES NOT MATTER! NO PROSECUTOR HAS EVER WON A CASE BASED ON A WEAPON WITH COMPLETELY LEGAL MODIFICATIONS!
>>
>>65383362
If I legally owned a full auto, I wouldn't want to risk the cops taking it after using it in self defense.
>>
>>65383362
It's legal, but legal machineguns are precious in this bitch of a nation, and do you really want your irreplaceable tens-of-thousands-of-dollars piece of property to get "lost" out of a police locker or just sit and rust for months or years before they return it to you?
The price point of the P365 or a Glock and their competitors is a feature, if the cops ruin it on your way to being ruled a good shoot, you'll be offended but you won't lose anything you can't replace easily enough.

This. Plus pistol FRTs and selective binary triggers are becoming a thing now.

until there's a change in the administration and the ATF decides to ATF. I'm surprised the ATF hasn't found a way to circumvent the previous and current legal shenanigans with FRTs already.

In the case of an NFA item after a self defense shooting the ATF is going to go and force the cops to return it to you until the trial even if it was evidence. The cops aren't able to hold onto registered NFA items willy nilly.

At the absolute worst it would go to a dealer and then sit there until the proceedings are done with. Cops don't get to try and evade the registry.

>Cops don't get to try and evade the registry.
Lol, lmao. Most cops don't even know the basics of federal firearms law, much less the NFA.

Sauce? Not in any way disagreeing with the concept and I have no idea if true or false, just seems to run counter to law enforcement in general.

This is why I advocate Taurus Gc models as the ultimate carry guns. If you have to draw on someone in SD it is going to be so close that any pistol that functions reliably and shoots under 100 MOA will be fine.
>>
>>65384158
Thankfully I'm not that poor, but hey, there's a niche for Taurus above Hi-point and below the usual suspects.
>>
>>65384109
Yeah and the ATF field agent is going to ask why they are holding onto an item when the responsible person and paperwork shows its supposed to be somewhere else.

>>65384155
There have been a number of posts about it before over the years. The ATF gets really nervous about NFA items not being either with the owner or an FFL who has the ability to take possession of them. The ATF will literally send a field agent to collect it and then deposit it back where it is supposed to go (or to an FFL if it needs be by court order) rather than leave it in a police evidence locker where it can get lost. NFA Registered items get them very nervous.
>>

>>65383847
it's like a soulbound item to them, lmao
>>

It just makes no sense.
Full auto means collateral damage in almost any case you'll ever have to use it bar carrying it in the woods.
If you have to mag dump a perp the prosecution will introduce you to the jury as "mag dump Jefferson"
