So did drones killed all Exoskeleton research? I remember they were looking into it int he 2010s. Was useful for troops rucking/lifting heavy shit.
>>65384814No. Exoskeletons was already niche thing to research and Warehouse robots basically killed what little momentum it had. It's still a thing as far as it still being researched is concerned, but people are chasing after logistical UGVs and UAVs because they're just that much better for things like logistics, supply runs, etc.>Was useful for troops rucking/lifting heavy shit.To save people's back? Sure, but I think there was a paper that stated that exoskeletons weren't really worth pursuing in the grand scheme of things unless you were willing to invest in keeping the backs of Artillery and supply units from being worn down at their current rates.
Theyre not dead, they're just shit so they're in limbo until power supplies improve. The raytheon suit was unusably large and ran off of a lawnmower engine, as did the Hulc. Talos ran off of batteries, but didn't last long enough to be useful (same problem as the rest) and socom realized none of their personnel wanted to wear it. Passive exoskeletons have seen limited use in several countries, chinks, Russians and Ukrainians have them, most western countries dont care because theyre waiting for practical powered designs.
If a breakthrough in battery technology occurs, it seems likely that it would be used to enhance drones before battle suits.
>>65384856As if a technology breakthrough can only be applied to one industry at a time.
>>65384814Cordless versions are kind of on hiatus because DUDE POWER STORAGE LMAO and corded versions don't have comparable use cases and aren't remotely as sexy. Though for my money I think the corded ones are going to come first and they'll be unobtrusive but revolutionary. They'll look goofy as shit but being able to sling steel plates like popeye is going to upend construction in the way that robotics upended manufacturing.
>>65384814>muh drones!>Ukraine/Russia is a modern battlefield!Jesus fucking christ browns are retarded.
>>65384814>So did drones killed all Exoskeleton research?>drones drones drones drones drones muh drones make everything dronesgod you people are insufferable. i should leave this board. i should leave the chans, actually.
>>65384949Bye bye brownoid
YesThey only exist for the elderly and will exist for weird sport fanatics now.Why carry your stuff with a leg robot, when a cheaper wheeled or propellered robot can do it for you while you electric bike, crawl or run to your next position. Hell even robot dogs will be cheaper than any design that needs to move with you because their batteries will actually be in viably cheap locations.Unless they become mass manufactured for the elderly to the point that they become cheaper than cheap bicycles with a fuckoff cheap eleccy motor they will not be adopted in combat with the exception of overfunded "elite infantry" that die to drones all the same.>>65384945It's pretty modern for frontline combat, groundbreaking in plenty of aspects, or do you think the advantages of planes will stop drone bunkers killing all your tanks and humans. BVR superiority doesn't make the rest of this warfare any less real or modern, and peer warfare will still look like this on the ground even if you lob 250lbers (cost matters) at the enemy from stealth jets.
>>65385030It isn't modern for frontline combat. The fight just defaulted to trench warfare because that's all Slavs/Browns can do if their initial plan failsDrones (FPV/loitering) didn't appear until Russia had to retreat from Kyiv and started digging in in the east so they wouldn't lose more territory. If Russia had a basic understanding of Logistics no one would even have bothered with Drone warfare. Hell in the US vs Iran fight Drones have only be used on Civilian targets and static military locations, They haven't stopped the US from striking specific targets and that's with the US holding back heavily.
>>65385114Hormuz status?
>>65384945Retard, america has been doing drone warfare since the 60's. Mass drone warfare since the 00's. Stop being contrarian.
>>65385545Hence why America stopped investing in infantry equipment circa Vietnam, what's the point in improving anything if drones exist. Oh wait that didn't happen because that thesis is retarded.
>>65384945By this criterion, America/Iran is also not a modern battlefield. You are a turdie now, congratulations.
>>65385564>strawmanyou will never stop being retarded
>>65384949Bye Bye, won't be missed
>>65384814>equipping goyim that could turn against you like they have over 1034 times and got your entire race kicked out of their nations over 109 timeswhy do you thinbk they're going all in on AI & clankers
>>65384814Lithium batteries are still absolute shit for energy density so an exoskeleton strong enough to matter will have shit endurance.
>>65384949>i should leave this board.I agree. Maybe if enough people report your post, the admins will help you out with a ban.
>>65384814The evaluations of those prototypes were unsatisfactory, largely due to a lack of ownership and investment (they failed to crack the UI/UX challenge, much like IVAS). Like exoatmospheric rocketry in the mid 20th century, the ingredients for this type of novel technology are all present now (contrary to some anons' expectations) but still awaiting buy-in from someone with the rare, Von Braun-ian combination of capital-political connections and autism necessary to unite them, four factors that may never intersect in a way that produces viable ones. Dr. Mosher could've been that man, had he and GE existed in their prime in our era of digital microelectronics and high-output power; his life's work was achieved with exquisitely tuned analog controls few men could comprehend enough to even operate. But for now, major stakeholders remain satisfied with the likes of fighter jets as the ultimate vestment of power in a single individual.
>>65385414Closed, its weird that Iran cant get any ship that trades with them through the US blockade. Where are those wunderwaffen drones to destroy the American fleet?
>>65386338>ClosedAll you had to say, thanks.
>>65386377So why cant Iran get their ships through?Other nations seem to get ~30 ships through each day. Why isn't iran sinking them?
>>65386392Why can't America open the strait?
>>65386413 Why does America need the straights open?
>>65385030>It's pretty modern for frontline combatno its not lol theres no aircraft.
>>65385791When will the chosenites abandon their delusions of control?
>>65384814exo-suits will never be a practical thingbest you can hope for is a "mech" that is just a bipedal forklift
It could be useful for a juggernaut, but idk how practical a juggernaut is. Maybe for coast guard boarding? Lol
