Collage-maker here.

In a case of meme magic, I discovered last minute that there was a Maryland ship called the Defence that protected ports from a British sloop named Otter during the Revolutionary War. For the record, the thread number is correct. Thread #1803 was supposed to be #1802, but the op of that thread skipped one. >>65373874 So the last /hg/ should've been #1803. Some of the targets that weren't in the success column could be argued as borderline passing, so feel free to plead your case if you desire.

definitely the slowest draw and reholstering is kind of a no go but the pistol sits underneath your cell phone pocket, also conceals crazy well because of that

If you ever feel the need to upgrade the QVO tactical pocket holster has a claw that grabs your pocket as you draw allowing the gun to come free. It's very confortable with my BG 2.0

>>65385496
A wing attachment pulls the grip of the gun towards your waist when you carry it strong side making the gun print less. A sidecar is for carrying a spare mag for semi auto users. What these people probably don't know is the only two documented cases anyones been able to produce of people that have ever died because they needed to reload during a self defense shoot were carrying 6 round pistols. Like your revolver. Side cars make carrying uncomfortable for a lot of people which means they carry less which means that spare mag of theirs just reduced their daily round count instead of increasing it.

Try a carry belt like Hanks, Kore, or Blue Force Alpha. Pick whichever matches your style they all make carrying much more comfortable especially when sitting down because the gun doesnt sag. Also try a real known holster brand instead of whatever is cheapest.
>>
>>65385513
have you considered not carrying a steel j frame & instead carrying a lightweight gun?
the LCR probably checks all of your boxes, its insanely light and its a j frame but sucks ass to shoot but who cares about that on a carry gun really

Then maybe the j frame isnt for you anon. That's ok. Try a BG 2.0 at a rental range and see if you shoot it well. If you do I promise you'll have an easier time carrying it. If you don't like the idea of a 380, try a micro 9.

>sucks ass to shoot but who cares about that on a carry gun really
People that actually train with their guns. If you don't like shooting it you probably wont want to train with it as much. A gun you train with often will probably be better in your hands than a gun that may be better on paper but you've barely shot.
>>
>>65385517

i do have a pocket holster that works good, that is usually my carry style for sweatpants/some shorts, for when it has to be super concealable & i cant trust i wont be raising my shirt at all i go urban carry, and then normally its raining and its cool enough for 2/3 of the year that i just pocket carry in a jacket

>>65385517
>>65385518

>>
>>65385521
i have a steel j frame & an LCR, both are virtually the same for the double action trigger pull and shitty gutter sights and skills from one translate to the other
the LCR is just so light that it hurts to shoot
i still carry my LCR but i do barely shoot it but its also the gun i carry when i want it to be as light as possible
>>
>>65385531
the LCR doesnt have crazy recoil, it just hurts the web of your hand after about 10-15 rounds
it shoots pretty much identical to any other j fame except you feel the recoil more in your hand because half the gun is plastic and the metal is some lightweight metal, thing weighs just under a pound

>appendix carry with a wing claw?
I don't carry appendix so I have a knowledge gap here. What is the benefit for appendix carry? I thought the comfort booster for appendix was those padded wedges you put on the back of the holster, would love to be better informed on this.

>>65385531
The bodyguard 2.0 is practically no recoil provided your hands fit it. That's why I urged you to try it at a rental range. Most micro 9s do have a lot of recoil, which is why I reccomended the bg 2.0 first and foremost. Here is the bg 2.0 in my pocket, doesnt print gun at all. This short demonstrates that pocket claw thing I was talking about, skip to 12 seconds in. https://youtube.com/shorts/Ivnt4BIr_5w?si=h82_4o00ZHChFwEV
>>
>>65385522
They really aren't that little. I thought they'd be half the size they are IRL when I was looking online at them

>>
>>65385536
>>65385534
About to take off on a plane, what is the price difference of LCR vs bg 2.0? Could be a determining factor for this anon

I do think that trying a better holster or carry belt is a good place to start though, certainly a lower barrier to entry both with price and training needed to learn a new gun.
>>
>>65385542
yeah, itll feed any 38 special ammo
it can handle +P too but from what ive read its probably not ideal to run thousands of +P rounds through a revolver that is designed to be as lightweight as possible, just asking for the plastic to crack somewhere
>>
>>65385542
>They really aren't that little. I thought they'd be half the size they are IRL when I was looking online at them
They ARE that little. Go to a gun store. You will be surprised how small it feels in your hand.
>>
>>65385548
>They ARE that little
Nearly a half inch wider too btw
>>
>>65385540
How hard is it to pull the slide on those? I tried a couple of 380 pocket pistols and it was too sketchy for me.
>>65385544
Price isn't really a factor, more concerned with safety.
>>
>>65385540
The benefit of appendix with a wing claw is that it drastically reduces printing, even on large guns. The claw also helps spread out the pressure of the carry rig by giving it another point of contact on your belt. I would not say appendix is more comfortable than other methods of carry, but it does conceal the best, and is the fastest.
>>
>>65385544
like $450 for an LCR vs $400 for bodyguard, its pretty neglible
38 special will hit a bit harder but you get 5 rounds, slow reloads
bodyguard is 380 acp, more ammo but doesnt hit as hard
revolver gets the advantage of being able to fired if you are pressing it up against something unlike an autoloader
revolvers generally have nicer feeling triggers but they are tiny pocket carry guns that dont have precision sights so thats kinda negligible
LCR has been out longer so there may be more holsters but the bodyguard 2.0 is the hot new thing for pocket pistols right now & is still fairly new

>How hard is it to pull the slide on those? I tried a couple of 380 pocket pistols and it was too sketchy for me.
You'd have to go to a store and try one. I don't have your hands so I can't tell you definitely one way or another. The slide serrations are VERY nice on it though which helps me get a good grip.

A semi auto in a kydex holster is arguably safer than a j frame in a literally who amazon special nylon holster, but if that's not enough for you they make manual safety models.

>>
>>65385623
I have a chink ripoff I got off Amazon for like $30 or something. It's good. It's a good design. My preferred carry belt is still just a double thick leather belt, but the Chink Constantine is probably my second favorite.
The original one is probably better made and you're supporting Hunter Constantine, but it also has Hunter Constantine written on it which is kinda gay.

I think I'm having a midlife crisis and I want a .44 magnum... I actually don't have a high power revolver in general so I've wanted one for some time. I just have a couple questions:

1) Am I being retarded and should just get a .357?
2) What is the absolute no-bullshit best .44 magnum revolver in terms of performance and also aesthetics?
3) How long of a barrel is too long?
>>
>>65385643
>1) Am I being retarded and should just get a .357?
Yes, it's much cheaper to shoot .38 Special and .357 Magnum, .44 Special is almost a unicorn in a lot of places, and .44 Mag gets old quick when you realize you're giving yourself micro-concussions every time you shoot
>2) What is the absolute no-bullshit best .44 magnum revolver in terms of performance and also aesthetics?
Probably a Spohr
>3) How long of a barrel is too long?
I find anything longer than 5 inches gets to be front-heavy for me, but you could also check out the Dan Wesson 44 that had interchangeable barrels. They might be out of production now, but you can still find them used pretty easily.
>>
>>65385643
Do you shoot a lot? If no, go for it. If yes, do you or does a friend reload ammo? If yes, go for it. If no, do you have generational wealth? If yes, go for it.

I will admit that there are those some people that some how do better with a revolver than an auto, maybe because they have that much aversion to the the slide reciprocating towards their face but that is just something you need to work through

If you like revolvers, then you’ll feel super cool carrying a snub nose which is the most important. I larp as this guy appendix carrying a 1911

Got an AIWB holster for my BG 2.0 last week after just relegating it to pocket carry forever and its insane how comfortable this thing is to carry you actually forget its there 80% of the time and you can bend over without getting poked (too hard).
People talk about slimline 9s doing that and certainly they are more comfortable and less printy but you definitely still notice them doing anything other than walking in in a straight line.
Hard to justify carrying anything else for me PERSONALLY. I guess if I know I'll be in a sketchy area I'll hedge my bet and carry a slimline or full size still but this thing is my new default.
Now I just need to get over the mental hurdle of spending more than the thing costs to get it optics cut and drop a holosun k on it.
>>
>>65386304
I never understood AIWB. It's right up in your gut if you gotta tie your shoe. IWB at 3-4 o'clock is the most comfortable choice. I don't think AIWB is a guaranteed faster draw either.

Appendix conceals much better
I can carry a 4” S&W 500 or desert eagle appendix without it printing
In my experience, the smaller the pistol, the less comfortable it is for AIWB and the more likely I’ll carry it at 4 o’clock because a shorter muzzle makes the gun more likely to tip out or dig into my pelvic bone

>Who seriously still recommends revolvers for carry? They’re an enthusiast gun only, it only makes sense for people who like revolvers.
IDK. To me it is a niche thing for people that know what they are doing. 158gr LSWC are very capable out of a 2", but you are only getting 5x in a J-frame sized gun. So it seems like a minimally viable 'get out of trouble' option that only makes sense if it is also a very lightweight and simple to carry. e.g. airweight, or LCR.

I carry a S&W 442 when I'm backpacking because the straps of my pack make carrying owb or in a shoulder holster difficult. A small, lightweight revolver can fit in my pocket or the exterior pouch of my pack. They definitely have their applications.

I realized that my biggest issue when it comes to shooting is that I am cross-eye dominant, but have been used to shooting for so long with just my right eye only (for both rifles and pistols; I am right-handed but left eyed)
I always hit left
How do I get myself to shooting properly? I am having difficulty figuring out having both eyes open
could I just use my left eye (or still right eye) and consciously move the pistol over the one I am using, to line it up better?
The issue I am having with both eyes open is eye strain and figuring out what to use when seeing double vision of the rear sights and the target, while focusing on the front sight
I am not used to it
Is this a strong motivation to instead get an optic, as I can give myself just one thing to place on the target? I feel like I focus on the target itself too much as well, so I can be more effective with the benefits of a red dot
>>

you can put a shadow 1 slide and barrel on one. the firing pin and extractor interchange between the two models so if you found just a slide and barrel you should be good to go.
you might also want to modify the frame so 75B mags fit because pre b mags are rare and old at this point.
you shouldnt actually remove the magazine brake like >>65387120 because it helps magazines slide in better. what you should do is bend out the brake so it sits flat and doesnt interfere with mags dropping free

I don't have a twitter, can you post these? Maybe on a board with sound? I'd owe you a pack of gold dots

just stripping down the frame is necessary as there are two areas inside the magwell that have to be filed down.
i would just insert a 75b mag and observe the areas where it would bind and then carefully file down those spots.
you can also shine some light between the frame and magazine to see the exact areas that need to be addressed.

Do you mean the slide release? I had the same thing (and seemingly everyone else does) and it became a lot better after maybe 600 rounds probably actuating it 50-100 times. I think it helps if you actuate both sides simultaneously both for ease of use and also I think what's happening is the opposite side doesn't get worn in for most people because they never touch it and it still interfaces with the left side button so it'll never break in fully if you never touch it (?) just a guess.

If I had to use 9/10 force to get it to actuate when I picked it up new it's now like 4/10 force much easier.

FN five seveN obviously and a pony tail

>a 5.7 stopped a shooter
Huge win bros
>>
>>65387583
>>65387559
Reports right now are that the armed citizen "opened fire in an attempt to stop" the shooter, the shooter retreated, then killed himself. Judging by how much the guy trains, I'd bet he definitely hit the shooter, but possibly didn't kill him? idk
>>
im changing from getting a sccy cpx 1 to a taurus g2c

t. poorfag
>>
>>65388302
The g2c is definitely the best of those two options. But you can do a lot better for just a little bit more money
>>
>>65387583
I'm fairly ambivalent on the 5.7 but I feel like every report we get of it actually used in a shooting it fuckin drops niggas. Velocity>all
>>
I'm gonna start carrying my FN now. Unfortunately the only pouches I have that fit the 5.7 mags is a multicam triple pouch for like a rig
>>
>>65388318
i just wish my five seven didnt have an 8 pound trigger pull

Get an fn now before they sell out

FN Five-seveN, and for size context... it's above average.

Mfer was stuffing 23 inches of pistol down his pants for edc if he actually carries that thing suppressed
>>
>>65388403
He’s a shoulder holster guy per his videos
>>
>>65388407
He SHOULDER HOLSTER carries a suppressed Five-seveN??? He's still shoving 23" down his pants every day he puts em on.

Probably going to take the .380 pill soon. Looking at an LCP or the new Keltec stripper 380. I need something I can throw in my pocket and forget about.

Yeah. It meets FBI minimum requirements with defensive loads. The guys sho measure if it's enough say it is.

I would get the Body Guard 2.0 over a LCP though.

Yes, the slide release. My apologies. I'm a nogunz that just became a onegun.
I've had results actuating both sides at once. The right slide release is definitely easier to to release than the left side. After a bit of practice I can semi-comfortably release the slide with my thumb and index finger.
>became a lot better after maybe 600 rounds probably actuating it 50-100 times
Sounds like this is the solution. Thanks senpai

Big fan of the 7.62 Tok round. I would suggest a Yugo m57 though. It holds an entire extra round.
>>
I just want to say. I will never not think it's retarded to edc a suppressed pistol. Not out of any "why do you need it" but holy fucking shit it's retarded. Draw time, concealability, comfort all negatively affected. I guess I think about it like this, if I can use a suppressed pistol in a situation I can likely use a suppressed carbine because they both have the same drawbacks. Not trying to be a hater, and I'm glad homeboy was successful and unharmed but it's fucking insane.
>>
>>65388800
He claims a 1.3 draw stroke in his videos
>>
>>65388806
Fucking insane. More power to him, bet he'd be faster without the can though.
>>
>>65388800
It’s unironically goated if your use case is anti-active shooter
For general purpose defensive use? Sure, suboptimal but masking gunshot report and direction against someone with a carbine who already probably has sensory overload is peak tactics
>>
>>65388784
the magazine in these >>65386918 are designed to hold 17 rounds of the stuff
>>
What's a good poorfag kydex iwb? I'm tall and skinny with a G26. trying to avoid buying dozens of holsters.
>>
>>65387559
Super goofy loadout, Five Seven with a suppressor, irons, holosun PID and subsonic 5.7. Even though the whole point of 5.7 is to be supersonic for armor penetration. Whatever he did though it worked. I bet the suppressor ultimately helped his survival here due to preventing flash. Shooter's hearing was probably fucked from shooting the AR15 without hearing protection.

>>65387748
I'm waiting for it too. If you search for "[optic name] reddit" they've unironically been saying variations of next month/soon/Q3 for several months. Inb4 >reddit, yes that's the forum that Holosun themselves uses to communicate with people, I didn't choose that. Don't shoot the messenger.

Their autobright is kinda dookie though. I hope they fix it before launching these.

Stoeger’s videos on the vp9 are funny. I’m surprised he’s not enjoying the paddle mag release
>>
>>65389083
He’s written in his books that it’s stupid and anyone doing anything other than a normal button is stupid. Practical Shooting Reloaded is the book.
>>
>>65389083
Once he realizes that the controversial opinion is that the paddle release is superior he'll come around.

Who brought that up? I'm just saying daily carrying a suppressed fuckhueg pistol is insane. Are you ok? Have I offended you? I'm sorry if I have. To set the record straight I like suppressors and I have 3, but after my first pistol suppressor I was disappointed. They're a pain to carry, fun to shoot but generally not as cool as you think they should be.
>>
>>65389162
Why the fuck are you being a female? I asked a question from genuine curiosity because I didn't know if he was charged with standard self defense charges

>>
>>65389180
Well it would suck to lose a 1500$ setup for whatever amount of time, but I also carry a 1500$ setup, which is why I was curious about this situation. If there were a mass shooting a parking lot over should I get raked over the coals for trying to be a good person saving lives, or should I pull an uvalde and drive home basically

That’s what I’ve been leaning towards, the value just seems too good. I’m very interested in the Keltec PR-3AT or a regular P3AT, but the max holds an almost identical number of rounds to the smaller PR, and I won’t have to deal with Keltec’s potential QC issues.
>>
>>65389466
I think kel tec is kewl but it's hard to justify the price difference

>>65389471
You can find the PR’s for $199 easily, making it pretty on par with the LCP
