my buddies and i tried a recoil measurement device on both a UMP and MP5 and the UMP has 15-16% less recoil.

and its only 3% louder

It has better ergos and better optic mounting. Literally everything else is inferior. Personally I can live with the MP5 cocking lever and once you do get an optic mount on it you're set for life, so neither of those are worth dealing with the UMP's nightmarish recoil impulse.

WTF does this even mean? An increase of only 3dB doubles the sound energy, and an increase of 10dB registers as TWICE as loud to your ear. So, 3% of what?
