I sold my favorite gun to my (at the time) best friend to help fund a cross-country move. Said friend promised me that I could buy it back at cost at any point in the future. For five years I was too financially strapped to justify buying it back from him, but finally got my shit in order with a house and a bit of savings building up. And then he proceeded to expose himself to one of my female relatives, which torpedoed any chance of continuing to be his friend or get my gun back.

My son, one can hate a culture but admire their weapons, this is not a sin. The /k/ube is not made of people and their cultures, but made up of the weapons created by them. Be they Israeli guns, Hi-Point, H&K, or the very rock that Cain used to kill Abel. All weapons belong to the /k/ube and therefore are worthy of our use and interests.

Please continue your efforts, and enjoy what makes you happy.

A few years ago I purchased a Swiss m1911 rifle in perfect condition. I really wanted a fitting bayonet for it but the best I could find at the time was a bayonet for a K31 rifle. The lug on that knife is tighter than that on the m1911 bayonet so despite being almost identical to the one I needed, it wouldn't fit.
I realized my mistake way too late and by that point I wasn't interested in returning or exchanging the bayonet that I had to buy for $200 so I did the next best thing and opened up the lug with a dremel.
I am not proud of myself for "destroying" a piece of history, but now it fits perfectly.

Not a sin my son.

But something important to remember is though it make come with more aura, it’s also comes with less daily carry practicality. Make up for this by training, live and dry fire exercises, as often as you can. Remember if you use a suppressor how long the draw will be. You must level out your own skills. >>
I haven't shot any of my guns in a year. I moved last January and the only public range in the area sucks, and I don't have any local /k/ friends to go to BLM land with.
>>
>>65389743
It's the opposite for me. Grew up in a big city where there was an indoor range with handgun rentals 10 minutes from me, but close to an hour to the nearest outdoor range (which was only 100yd) and nobody in the area had long gun rentals. On top of that it was California where long guns were much more restricted than handguns, and I grew up in a family that didn't hunt or anything. I'm about to be 40 and have been shooting handguns for nearly 20 years now but I'd only shot rifles a few random times before finally buying a 10/22 and AR after moving to a freer state last year.
>>

I haven't gone shooting for the better part of a year
I have an old rifle that I inherited that desperately needs some love and attention but I'm too lazy
>>
>>65389863
On that note, I've had my grandpa's Remington 760 for a decade now and was never able to get it apart to check the bore and clean the thing up properly. I've accumulated a bunch of new tools and a decent workspace over the last year and finally managed to do it last week, with quite a bit of persuasion from a heat gun, penetrating oil, and some percussive maintenance. It's in surprisingly nice shape given it hasn't been fired since the '60s and the last time it'd been oiled before I got it was probably sometime in the '80s considering he died in '89 and it just sat in a closet in a nasty vinyl case until my grandma went in '08.
>>
>>65389871
Yeah, the old rifle I have is in similar shape, but was probably less well preserved-- I have a MKII* SMLE that's sat in a garbage bag in an attic for the better par of the past three decades (grampa fired it once hunting deer, cried when he killed one and never touched it again); desperately need a deep clean, a new sling, and while monkeying around with it I bent part of the bolt retention ridge on the reciever out of place and I got to mallet it back in
no idea if its even safe to fire; and its bubba'd so it won't even be a pretty wallhanger without some restoration

The Henry and Samurai Edge are both acceptable firearms in the eyes of the /k/ube. A woman, while they deplete you budget, offer you an opportunity to extend the /k/ubes teachings through bringing people together to shoot.

I own several cowboy guns and Resident Evil guns and have a wife. All while being a poor college student. While through a miracle of the /k/ube I somehow afford many guns and ammunition. Every chance I get I teach my wife and others to shoot. It is a difficult path but still possible. I know the road leads to more guns, and bringing more people to shoot them. Now you know this, so continue the path. You may struggle but the /k/ube sees you.

The first step to getting ahead is getting started my son. Push yourself closer to doing this and your goals will be met sooner than you think. Dry fire training is good, saves money, and is practical. If you don’t learn to shoot with recoil though you may have trouble when the day comes you must kill for the /k/ube. Do this and you will succeed.

Only wanting to use a few calibers is not a sin. Because of rare ammunition prices admittedly I have some rifles and handguns that have become wall hangers. Limiting yourself to a few guns is fine as long as you practice.

As for the ranges this is also a common problem among /k/ommando’s. Fudds and retards make it difficult to shoot. These are enemies of the /k/ube. If you need any reason at all, at least go to the range out of spite. Don’t let them win.

Do this and you will succeed.

Range buddies are difficult to find. But don’t be afraid to go shooting on your own. I have two or three life long friends that enjoy /k/ but we’ve been separated for a while.

I have been shooting for many years now, enjoyed /k/ in the early days, went to a Nuggetfest long ago, made these threads and since then I have met /k/ommandos in the strangest of places. Most recently a Frenchman in Japan.

What I have learned is to make more /k/ friends you must go out and seek them. Go to the range, and venture out into the world and you may be surprised.

Do this and you will succeed.

Buy a weapon. Many here are autistic, and some more or less than others.

Things like these are nerve wracking at first, but yield great rewards if you push yourself. The only way to defeat your worries is making it become habitual practice. Go to the gun store, plan for a gun to buy, find a good range. Worst case scenario, you get a chance to make a funny green text about it.

I started on /k/ around 2014 or 15. I’ve gone to the one Nuggestfest in 2015 in Pennsylvania. Haven’t heard about any new ones but I haven’t been on for a while.

A good time, although there were some regards there. I remember I wanted to bring more, but all I had was my WASR-10. I forgot to bring boots and clothing and it was muddy.

Me and my friend arrived at night. The plastic of my 96 Camry scraping the bottom of the road causing a racket while everyone was camping. We were greeted by a barely clothed man wearing a ski mask. He came to welcome us to nuggetfest, and we talked about the guns we liked. I mentioned that I liked the C96 and wish I could own one. Proceed to pull out his collection of C96 Mauser’s including a Type 17 in .45 ACP.

It was an interesting time and truly memorable. I still believe in the /k/ meme and try to find brothers along my journey.

Been there, anon. Extremely painful (for you), I get it. Best advice I have is to say you must accept that, due to the intensity of the disappointment, you will not experience the same enjoyment to which you’re accustomed in any activity for some time. Shooting, drinking, gaming, whatever. It may distract you for short periods, but that’s it (and even then, not nearly as well as you’d like). Consequently, you might as well reject escapism for the time being and lean HARD into self improvement and accomplishment. Work out, complete that house/school/job project you’ve been putting off, do some volunteering to reduce the suffering of others, et cetera. It will almost certainly be miserable for you as it was for me. But at least you’ll wake up several years from now and, whether /hasgf/ or not, you won’t suddenly find yourself a fat retard with zero self control, and you will have made some positive impact on your surroundings. I had a truly miserable breakup with the girl I expected to spend the rest of my life with, I followed this advice I’m giving you now, and these days I thank God every day that this is how it turned out (she got fat and I crushed grad school and early career efforts without her distracting me looool). Read some Marcus Aurelius, listen to Half Way Up by Clint Black, and keep putting one foot in front of the other no matter what. WAGMI

Long story short, we were camping out at my land, I had let my 2 other friends (who for the record are limp-wristed city slickers) shoot my rifle and stuff the previous day since they'd never shot a gun before in their whole lives, they kept blasting a JBL speaker the entire night until some coyotes started howling near us, they broke a door that was on my land, broke my air rifle that I was letting them shoot (broke the magazine more accurately), and then shortly before I shot at them the 2 others decided that it would be a funny prank to act like one of the two had stolen my gun and ran off, to which I was freaking out a little (maybe not freaking out, but really on edge) because that's pretty bad, and the one who had supposedly stolen it smokes weed, so after a bit and asking them TWICE if they were joking and them saying no, the jig was up, my rifle was hidden behind a tree, and the other came out of hiding, to which I shot at the ground in front of them shortly after.

The part I feel most bad about was that my 3rd actual friend (who has his own guns) was taking a shit in a port-a-potty while this was all going on, and he came out when I was about to shoot and was to the left side of the barrel, and caught most of the noise from the gunshot besides the other two.

Clean your guns. Don’t let them rust or they might not work when you need them most. Although understandable when you have a lot of guns to clean.

The Jericho shot just fine iirc but it's issue was that it just wasnt a quality gun at all. Parts were left with sharp edges all over which was annoying to deal with while manipulating the gun. I remember the hammer having sharp edges which is whatever, but the biggest sin was that the trigger would depress all the way back to the frame and always pinch the shit out of my finger which got super annoying after awhile

I have not once conceal carried my handguns because I live in NJ, and the process to acquire a CCW permit is fucking stupid and takes too long to get one. Buy the time you finish taking the courses, getting references, and submitting the application, it takes months before you even see that license. Anything can happen within that time frame. I am inspired by that based Idaho /k/ommando that wasted that POS mass shooter a few days ago. I might just start carrying permitless, regardless of what the law says. I could not live with myself if someone started killing innocent people, and I had no way to stop him.
>>
>>65394620
Well that's fucking childish of you, on so many levels. You sure the real reason you won't even try for the permit is that it's an effective eternity (so, 2-3 year?) until you're old enough that you can apply for it?
>>
I
1) Still own a P320 and,
2) Will buy the FRT for it
If it's any consolation it will be purely as a range toy while in a Flux chassis

No, the reason is that you have to have 4 non-family references to vouch for you, and then the permit is only good for 2 years until you have to do the process all over again.

I don't enjoy shooting my big bore stuff any more and am seriously considering selling it. I think it's been over three years since I shot anything in .45-70 and I don't even want to reload any more ammo for it. It's just no longer fun. It's too much. I'd rather put a case of 9 down range than a single cylinder from the BFR or 50 rounds of .44.

Well, the fact that commie faggots have butchered over 110 million lives over the course of 100 years certainly doesn't help your case. Also, why the fuck would any decent /k/ommando help your kind git gud with any sort of firearm training? They targeted and killed many Christians and other good people, especially of their own countrymen. The fact that their own fellow travelers got caught in the organs doesn't make it based.
>>
>>65396336
Indiana is also a constitutional carry state. The only reason I have a permit is to show my Japanese friends and carry in other states that honor it.

Indiana is the crossroads of America, because nobody stops to visit. In turn Indiana is empty, and boring, but there is a lot of space to go shooting. Southern Indiana is best in my opinion. Peaceful area, beautiful countryside, and good fun culture.

Same anon, confession time. A coworker gave me a box of 357 Sig a few years ago as a gift, I don't own anything chambered in it, he thought revolvers were chambered in it. I didn't have the heart to tell him, as he was excited to give it over as a parting gift.

I'm thinking of adding a 357 Sig into my collection solely dor that box of ammo, and to honor his gift.

I don't think it's possible to load .45-70 that low and still have it come out the barrel. The light trapdoor loads are only pushing about 950 fps as it is, and those are about as little powder as I feel safe putting in there, but a 405 gr slug is still a beefy bastard to move.

I need more context I think. Not a sin, but my advice would be to hang onto them. If you want a different gun it might be easier to trade them. Personally I love all my guns, even the “shitty” ones. My Serbian tokarevs (even shitty custom ones), S&W in .32 S&W, Hi-Point, Raven Arms, etc. Guns are usually not an investment that brings more money but they generally hold their value over time as long as you don’t buy stuff like commemorative or brand new. People may disagree with this and there are exceptions. Plus hanging onto them would be good if you change your mind later. I think this is a common issue for people so you’re not alone.

I have a 3-9x40 on my AR. I only use it for hunting and some range trips anyways. Yes it has a FSB because M4-ish rifle. No, I cannot see even a shadow or blur of it like 95% of the time with high rings. 3-9x40 is also on my 22. Just a good scope zoom range. Kinda wish I had a 2x option but it doesn't bother me that much as if game is that close, it's running quick or dead still anyways.

I’ve been shooting for a long time as well and have moved on to teaching others. I still need practice and pull on certain guns. I carry an Sig p226 and it works fine to me, same thing with the Browning HP, CZ P09 and similar. I pull on other handguns like the Tokarev and VP70. I think it’s normal, and no matter how good you get you stay a student until you die.

Teaching people has yielded funny results. Some people are naturally good shooters and have never shot, others have shot and are worse. I’ve seen people shoot good first try and get worse as I teach them. Lots of factors affect this, and just require time and practice.

Some advice is to film yourself shooting and watch yourself shoot. Try to spot discrepancies.

Don’t lose hope brother.

Shit's all I can afford to shoot. Good thing I like mild recoil and get amused easily by hitting steel and tightening groups. I'm getting a 22 mag to flatten drop and I'm getting a fucking MP5 to shoot because they're both closer to 19cpr than 5.56 which is getting uncomfortably, well, comfortable, dancing around that 40cpr+ mark. Cheapest good shipping non reman or random ass company 5.56 ammo on Ammoseek is fucking 41.3cpr for PMC x-tac 55gr at $8.27 LIMIT TWO BOXES. I remember Cabelas selling fucking M855 for like $7/20. In person. And that was probably a fucking ripoff at the time. If trying to improve your skills and train, 500rds 22LR > 40rds 5.56 any fucking day.

My Rossi poorfag carbine is annoying to break down to properly clean, so I just scrub and swab the bore and spray Lucas all over the bolt and relube, call it a day.
Years ago I got dribbles of piss on my SAW on a field while taking a leak, called it a dirty ho and barely wiped it off.
I once flipped my .45 sideways when nobody else was at the range and emptied that bitch at a target.
Kinda liked when my wife's farts smelled like cordite after a long range day one time.

Yep pretty much what I do. Keep skills sharp on the 22 and make sure I'm still good on 5.56 or 9mm. Only need the bigger calibers to train for recoil and things specific to that gun, ie. hold over/under at various distances and how the trigger feels. Also, I need to look into it but someone told me that Aguila is having issues with getting a certain component of 22 so production is slow. I still don't know how true that is, but (sorry for phonefagging but the extend screencap feature makes this easier to capture) did you ever expect to live to see the day that AGUILA is more expensive than CCI?! Seriously!

I understand this, as it can become annoying after a while. I don’t even live in a dangerous area. However it is better to have it than not have it. Maybe you can switch to a different kind of holster, or just change the way you carry.

Not trying to sell you on it, but I started using a shoulder holster. Still a bit cumbersome and I have to wear an over shirt, but I don’t have to fuck with it every time I take a shit or sit down. Just can’t take my over shirt off.

Better for colder months.
