Heh noPING personal kid
>>
torpedoes are drones
>>
>>65388087
No.
>>
>>65388074
Didn't a drone take one out in 2025?
>>
>>65388074
>already been hit by drones in port
>unmanned boats rapidly coming online
Also modern torpedos are in fact drones.
>>
>>65388185
>in port
Doesn't count
>unmanned boats rapidly coming online
Wygd when it dives. This ain't a uboat grandpa, it travels underwater
>>
>>65388217
Torpedo boats have been around longer than my grandpa.

>is unaffected by drone warfare
what happens when the drone is guided in by satellite and passive sonar and drops a depth charge on the submarine?
>>
>>65388224
>Capable of discreetly patrolling in a swarm or holding position on the seabed, the glider operates
>the glider
So any nuke boat that can just run at 30 knots is untouchable?
>>
>>65388232
Gl finding the sub
>>
>>65388238
the existing sensor network guides the drone into the right neighborhood and the sensor on the drone helps to locate it precisely
>>
>>65388240
Don't bother anon, that guy doesn't know about ASW planes and choppers.
>>
>>65388224
...isn't this literally the major cause of the breakdown of global law, order, and economy in Cyberpunk 2077, when these self-replicating sea drone-mines start going berserk on any passing vessel?
>>
>>65388236
It's a swarm, one detects and the others go in for the kill.
>>
>>65388247
I wouldn't worry about it.
>>
>>65388074
>is unaffected by drone warfare
didn't russia lost 3 subs to uavs ?
>>
>>65388251
I think those were docked
>>
>>65388236
No, it still needs to see the "drone" (actually a rising mine) from far enough out to be able to dodge it. If it's going at 30 knots, it's practically deaf, so it will not react in time. If you're in shallower waters, you're also going to have a hard time, no matter your speed.

>drone detects sub and starts to rise to attack it
>sub detects drone and runs at 30 knots to evade it
>it's now deaf and making a shitton of noise
>sub runs headfirst into the remaining 99 drones in a swarm of 100+
>>
>>65388236
A nuke boat running at 30 knots will produce so much noise that you won't need AI drones to find it.
>>
>>65388224
its always the germans
>>
>>65388232
The US probably knows the exact location of every single Russian sub at any given time.

How does it know it needs to run? Rusian sonar lol?
>>
>>65388582
Unironically AI land nav and target recognition are the future of EW hardened ordnance and they're already being used in GPS denied areas in Ukraine/Russia, you can bitch and moan but you'll just get left behind.
>>
>>65388582
>>65388613
AI is both terrible, the root of all slop and great and the future of warfare.
LLMs are cancer.
Image recognition is the future of guidance and also terrible for privacy.
>>
>>65388591
lol, who actually believes those numbers?
>>
>>65388582
If there is one thing AI does well, it is listening to years of recorded submarine sounds and finding patterns.
>>
>>65388163
I mean, they are. The literally have a fiber optic wire by which they can be controlled.
>>
>>65388270
in 1975, maybe
the seawolf class could run silent at 25knots and burst above 30 knots
virginia is even more hydrodynamic than the seawolf class with an even quieter pump jet
>>
>>65388591
>Still 70 artillery systems per day
Is that how fast they make mortars, then? Will they never run out like tanks did?

By all indications taking a system offline by blowing the generator, even if it can be fixed, is a "kill".
Before they start harping on that, 95% DO NOT get fixed.
>>
>>65388224
Ai can't count to 100, and you expect us to trust that?
