Can any autists on here point me towards more games like Sea Power and C:MO where it's less direct control and more just watching an actual naval battle unfold? Any time period's okay, I just finished the Task Force mode and am itching for more like it.

The only worthwhile game in the entire genre is Rule the Waves 3.

War on the Sea is great for naval gun battles.

It was 28 years ago but I sort of remember ships engaging eachother in this game

>features locked behind paywalls
Fuck that shit

There's no features locked behind paywalls, there's the normal paid version available to consumers and the pro version available with a special license to military forces and military universities. The latter gets the "real" specs, more granular simulation, customizability, multiplayer, and is typically a couple years ahead on new features. For example, comms jamming and autonomous drones just dropped in the commercial version , but it's long been available in the pro version. It sucks, but there's literally nothing else with those capabilities if you're interested in modern air and naval combat digital wargaming

It's not a paywall unless you can pay your way through the wall. You can't, it's only sold to professionals

Redo the task force campaign with an Australian or Japanese commander, and or at a higher difficulty level.

The scenarios are the same, but the actual unit positions aren't always identical so there are still some surprises even if you've done that mission before.
