Do you personally like the Glock 17 or 19 better?
I’ve got a 17 Gen 2 trade in from the Department of Corrections. I think it’s really cool, but I wonder if I should’ve just gotten a 19 instead.
>>
I have never shot either yet, but I prefer the look of the 17. Looks solid and weighty, like a mothafuckin GLOCK yo
19 is OK and probably your best bet for EDC between the two
>>
>>65391078
>same width
>barely shorter height and length
17 is worth it, homo faggots act like its a j frame compared to the 17 meanwhile they conceal about the same for anyone that isnt fat or gay
>>
17 or hell 34
19 just doent fit my hand and really id take a 26 if i wanted small.
19s the best i can only have 1 gun but im not fucking European.
Ive owned everysize glock and i dont touch the 19 at all. 17 does have its uses vs 34 just cause of holsters.
If you could get away with a 19 for ccw you could get away with a 17.might print but nobody cares.
>>
>>65391078
Glock 19 Gen 5. Small and light for CC travels.

If I can't win in 15, i wasn't going to go very far with 2 more bullets. Mec-Gar magazines expand up to 18 bullets with confortable extensions.

Glock 17 would be nice on discount trade in as a home pistol.

Both are approved for Police, war, defense.
Perfect for peace.
>>
I wound up with a 19 like many after doing research, never really heard more than 5 percent of people advocating for the 17 over it, so I just went with the general consensus
>>
>>65391078
imagine your 17 but slightly shorter
>>
>>65391078
A 19 with a compensator is about the same length as a 17, fits 17 ccw holsters, and are a lot more fun to shoot versus a stock 17. A 17 with a compensator was slightly uncomfortable to carry and I don't believe anybody makes CCW holsters for them so your mileage may vary.

For a 6ft dude that isn't a gigalard I'd say the 19+comp+light is just an overall excellent pistol for everything. If you're mr skellington you could probably just do a 43X because it's slightly thinner and more comfortable to carry.
>>
>>65391078
17 because the 48 made the 19 obsolete
>>
I prefer the 17. Could you go wrong either? No.

Thanks I appreciate all of you guys’ input. I feel a lot better now about getting the 17.
>>
>>65392305
7th-ing for the 17. You got the right one.
>>
17, because that's the one I own.
>>
>CCing a full-size pistol

that is a phase and you do get over it.
>>
>>65391078
i carry a 19 or a 34 when i carry a glock. i'm cute like that, bitch
>>
17 with a 19 grip cut.
>>
>>65392305
Get the 17. Jacket over OWB beats small CCW pistola
>t. Big guy
>>
wow shocked a bunch of 4chan contrarians overwhelmingly prefer the 17 over the 19. You guys sure do go against the grain! pat yourselves on the back

I personally like the 17 better. I carry strong side and wear a cover garment year round though.
>>65393518
He asked for personal opinions and received them. Why are you so mad?
>>
>>65391078
For me it's the G19. I generally HATE finger grooves on weapons but the gen 3 G19 feels like it was made specifically for my hands.
>>
>>65393575
>Why are you so mad?
because the biggest thing informing the 17 answers is the fact that the 19 is overwhelmingly preferred by normal people
>>
I have the 19, 17, and 26. I carried the 26 from when I was 21 to 30 and switched to the P365. The 17 became my bedside gun. There's no difference in feel carrying a 17 or 19. Both are big guns for daily carry. Just get a gun belt

Heh. Yeah.
>>
>>65391078
I have the 19 Gen 5 and the 17 feels pointless if you own the 19. The large frame Glocks like the 21 are more worth it for something about that size. It’s overkill for 9mm.
>>
>>65392374
Thanks to you guys as well, anon.
>>65393575
>and wear a cover garment year round though
What kind of cover garment? Same for me as well. I wear flannels year round.
Also, based.
>>65393624
>Just get a gun belt
Based. I’ll have to do that.
>>
>>65393596
I mainly shoot bullseye targets so why wouldn't I prefer the 17
That said my gun is the worst of both worlds, the 19X. But it really is aesthetically pleasing
>>
>>65391078
can you buy glocks without the bottom rail
>>
>>65393995
Yeah, gens 1 + 2 don't have it
>>
Unfortunately, the G19 form factor is just an ergonomically perfect grip-to-barrel ratio.
>>
>>65393880
>glock
>aesthetic
>>
>>65393855
>What kind of cover garment?
Usually either a linen jacket or camp shirt in the summer. When it cools off I wear flannel.
>>65393596
No, it’s because I like it better.
>>
>>65391086
>I have never shot either yet, but here's my opinion anyway
You know that you can just STFU, right? You don't HAVE to reply to every thread, there's nothing stopping you from just moving on with your day.

I think overall I prefer the 19, but I like my 17 too.
>>
>>65394370
I know nothing about linen jackets. Can you educate me? The flannels get hot.

I like the gen1-5 G17 more but they don't make a full length frame for it on the Gen6 guns. The fucking overbite pisses me off.
>>
>>65391078
After trying a friends 17, I wish I had gone with that instead of the 19. Both are fine, though.
>>
I have small womanly hands and the 19 is perfect, shoots fine also.
Weirdly, and idk how to describe it, but a lot of guns look and feel way bigger in person. The 19 was the closest feeling to how it looked on a screen, magazine, or in media etc.
>>
>>65395628
If I had bigger or more average guy hands I would feel no problem getting the 17 though. I'd imagine it would fit perfectly

I really do like the 17 but the 19 is just way more practical in every way, shape, and form
>>
never heard of either one of these guns
>>
>>65391078
I personally like the 19 more but I keep my 17 Gen 2 around for the aesthetic
>>
I have a 19 and it's a good gun. I might consider a 26 or a 43 but never in a million years would I consider a 17. The biggest issue with the 19 is it's kind of bulky. A 17 is just bulkiER. Why have such a big gun if you're shooting 9mm?
>muh target shooting
well get a rifle, pistols are point and click n-slur-blasters and if you ever need it your target is gonna be super close, no need for sights. I'm a wristlet and my 19 is super soft shooting, I can easily shoot one handed left or right and I want to emphasize that I am a skinny mfer with ET hands, same build as Joey Ramone
>>
>>65396167
>Why have such a big gun if you're shooting 9mm?
Your not a manlet and have larger hands
>>
>>65396185
yeah my hands are bigger than yours almost guaranteed. I have freakishly long hand, you just like the 17 because you're a fat guy and a contrarian
>>
>>65395554
Can it take a 19 slide if it doesn't have the full length dust cover?
>>
its not different enough to matter. its the same shit.
>>
>>65396597
Gen 1-4 17 frame cant take a 19 slide due to a different locking block. If you put the wrong slide on its an fuck you take it to a gunsmith to unfuck it.
5 standardized everything to the 19 locking block.
Not actually sure about gen v
>>
>>65391078
why did they ruin peak aesthetics just so guys can put their thumbs halfway up the slide
