It’s a g47 with a radian ramjet and some other doodads that I doubt would matter, and I’m shooting 124nato ball I assume it’s the comp not allowing for proper barrel tilt and not my left thumb pushing too hard on the slide. Hollow points ran fine for the most part, I did have an experience where I swear it failed to load the next round in the chamber. It's been a while, but I pulled the trigger on an empty chamber. I remember being quite confused. You can replace it with a weaker spring, but you would have to go through the trouble of testing defensive rounds again (if you already had before). The other anon is right about it being sharp. The fucker would cut me until I sanded it down myself. You would think it demanded blood to operate. That said, he's right you shouldn't have to do it yourself, but not a big deal to smooth it out. The hammer spring is also quite strong, it feels like a snub nose revolver ONLY on the double action pull. The sa trigger pull is really short for a pistol design this old. Not the shortest ever, but it gives other pistols a run for their money. It's an all steel (almost) design. Sturdy pistol, and I really like the fact the firing pin is physically locked in place when the manual safety is engaged. I can't put into words how much I appreciate the peace of mind knowing it can't go off. Other than that it is what it is, a outdated single stack .380. I wish I could buy the walnut grips directly from them, even if they over-charged. I seriously detest them for sheer greed, who would buy another one just for the grips?Still, you should get one if you like to collect. Its an interesting pistol you can carry if you like. And they really cheap now, even big retailers are listing them low. Seems like they want to clear out inventory.

While the lesser brands have high and low spots that wear down to a middle point and get looser.

With the sheer volume of guns staccato and some other companies pump out, there is no conceivable way for them to have good gunsmiths fit every one, let alone competent fitters that pay attention to detail. You don't necessarily have to have a master gunsmith that's seen wear patterns of hundreds of guns and hundreds of thousands of rounds and knows the platform inside out, but care and time are needed for a good long lasting one.

Slide to frame fit being looser may contribute to better reliability for leaving space for debris and gunk to be pushed aside or some shit. Staccato also has zero break in period. >>65401895Having experience with both DW and Nighthawk, you won’t find any deficiencies with a DW in slide to frame fit and barrel lock up, but the difference is that DW you have a 500 round break in period, someone didn’t actually hand fit everything to perfection, and they use a retarded grip safety angle. On my 10mm specialist I had a really bad hot spot here that would break skin under recoil. The grip safety doesn’t depress enough.
