This is an unexploded FAB bomb, middle right, by the concrete barrier, right?
>>
>>65399584
Looks like it, seeing it has no fuse I'm guessing it was already there before the strike.
>>
>>65399591
That's a US base in Kuwait. I doubt they keep FABs lying around.
>>
>>65399584
The tactical operation center was similar to structures commonplace during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan — before the rise of drone warfare. Steel-reinforced concrete barriers known as T-walls surrounded the building. These types of barriers are designed to shield service members from the blast of a mortar or rocket but offer no protection from aerial attacks.
Why didn't Americans built dugouts? WWI era technology?
>>
>>65399597
Looks like the lifting lug is installed and the bomb isn't crushed or buried 10 feet into the ground.
Sure as shit doesn't look like it got there from the sky.
>>
>>65399635
Why else would a FAB be sitting in the wreckage of a bombed out TOC? Was it a decorative planter? Seriously? Occams razor dude.
>>
>>65399679
The only source I have seen on the image is some anon on /k/, why would I default to believing this is a US base?
>>
>>65399683
>why would I default to believing this is a US base?
Because it got wrecked by iran.
>>
>>65399685
And once against the only source for that claim is some anon on /k/.

Tactical goal post repositioning. Fall back to the redoubt men!
>>
>>65399679
Bold assumption that the pic is even real.
>>
>>65399700
OP saved it from somewhere, they could just link the source.
>>
>>65399683
>>65399721
NTA but I reverse image searched it, CBS news is the source.
>>
>>65399727
Was it a US only base or one shared with the host nation?
Does the host nation have FABs?
Which part of the base is this, could it be UXO?

It just doesn't look like it fell from the sky.
>>
>>65399679
Dunno, but the news article the picture is from says the strike package that hit the base was a shahed drone
>>
>>65399736
I don't know man, I just posted what I found.

>It just doesn't look like it fell from the sky.
I'm not qualified to say.
>>
1 March

An Iranian drone struck the US garrison at Camp Buehring in northeastern Kuwait.[14] Later press research from late April 2026 revealed that an Iranian air force fighter jet, a Northrop F-5, had penetrated the multi layered defences of Camp Buehring and conducted a successful bombing run.
>>
>>65399584
That is way too small to be an aerial bomb

The lifting lugs (hoops in this case) on the FAB 500 are permanently attached.
>>65399787
And it's only 8 feet long.

Mass 500 kilograms (1,100 lb)
Length 2,470 millimetres (97.2 in)
Diameter 400 millimetres (15.7 in)

Sure as shit looks like one to me.
>>
>>65399855
Still forever mad that Russia hasn't dropped FAB-9000's in Ukraine, just for the big boom. Imagine the PR.

>>
>>65399860
Only the TU-95 and TU-160 can lug that massive piece of shit, and it's an extremely dumb gravity bomb. And as chronically retarded the ziggers are, they're not going to fly straight over bumfuck nowhere to atomize outhouse #9580036 at the cost of some of their lostech.
>>
>>65399877
I am aware, it's still sad. They made the FAB-3000 into a glide bomb and it is is theoretically possible to make the FAB-9000 into one, it would just be complex and difficult and expensive. But for a one off thing to film and go
>hohols deleted ))))))))
Would surely be good PR. Even if it was just a NATO General Outhouse.
>>
>>65399855
Looks too small, not 500kg
>>
>>65399855
Do you think those concrete barriers are 16 ft long?
>>
There are other FAB's that are smaller

That's not the issue. AI regularly uses it in their text. People copy and paste it in. Read his post before the second paragraph. That's clearly AI.

I'm just now seeing that the India Today version is an even smaller image and now my dreams are crushed.

Its a quote from the CBS article the OP picture was taken from
I guess that doesn't necessarily preclude it being AI but you get my point

they're literally doing that every week

Huh. So Iranian bombers got through and hit the base. Memory holed I guess.

You know, if you're not willing to make a clear eyed rational appraisal of operations, for better or worse, you're going to fail in the mission. See: Trump's management of the war with Iran. And your post.

If its at an airbase it might be some leftover ordnance that was made inert and displayed as a trophy or learning aid. Personal example, on Al Assad Air Base had some display stuff and a ZPU 4 on display from the saddam era. This was back in like 2017 when I deployed.
>>
itt; it's anything but what it obviously is, with any explanation except what actually happened.

That's a FAB from an Iranian airstrike. Jesus christ the cope. It's been documented with multiple sources posted right here ffs. More than enough for anyone interested in looking up more confirmation to do so. You are not serious people.
>>
it's funny how thurdies constantly call it "FAB bomb " like it's some wunderwaffle
meanwhile FAB just means
high explosive
aerial
BOMB

The attack that killed 6 American troops stationed in Kuwait early in the war may not have happened how we thought.

the strike was carried out by Iranian Su-24 bombers using a Soviet-era FAB-500 unguided bomb.

Not drones, as was reported. Images show an unexploded FAB-500 near the site of the strike.

Worth noting: Qatar shot down two Iranian Su-24s during the same early period of the war. Iran was flying them.

While it is confirmed that Iranian F-5s and Su-24s bombed American bases, that was likely just a base trophy that got burned by the bombing. I doubt the Iranians used dumb bombs since they have plenty of guided and glide bomb variants.

Came here from /sci/ to ask about FAB's.
Could you use a FAB to generate a vacuum then drop a physical plasma torch into it to propergate a runaway reaction of ionic hydrogen byproducts and oxygen?

Like a fuel-air reactor which made a little huricane, until the plasma torch reached 3000 degrees C and much like a flux capacitor, split a hydrogen atom?

There would obviously be a lot of practical problems with this, but in theory, could it be done?

Clint eastwood did it in Escape from Alcatraz.
