The mech design is unrealistic. The turret is clearly based on the WW2 Bismarck turret but there's not enough space underneath it to house the machinery and ammo hoists. The mech is also top heavy and will topple the moment the guns fire.

In-lore the guns aren't loaded via traditional ammo hoists, but rather 'French-style 12 round autoloaders' behind the guns.
All other ammunition is carried/loaded via convoy accompanying the turret, which is actually relevant in one of the missions

It was roughly equal to a Iowa Class turret, probably threw significantly more HE. Lack of range and an approximately 10 acre lethal back blast area were the only minor issues. With rocket assist it would probably BTFO a TOS like the TOS was tiny baby.

And don't forget, you're mid-late game and you're fighting Day Dream Chems and damn you don't have protection against their weapon type. Oh, I know, I'll get an armour that protects from that! Ignoring I now have to go through a wiki to find this a lot of the time, I learn that the best armour to protect against Day Dream Chem units is gotten from... Day Dream Chem..... Who will only give you the armour if you help them. OH.

So I take off all my equipment and clothes, run fully naked with an axe, Leeeerooooy Jenkins a Day Dream Chem guy and loot his shit. I do this every time. Because dying loses all your equipment.
>But anon, all the stats and builds an-
Shut the fuck up. There is no logical reason why a 9mm does 'Blunt' damage but .42 does 'Pierce' damage. But you better fucking check every single fucking mission who you're facing... And then exit the mission screen, go to the trading screen, checking the tech level of the faction you're going to fight, then look at the equipment they have for that tech level, then check what weapon they have, what ammo it uses and oh no none of this info is actually given to me in game, so tab out, go to wiki, check the equipment and ammo and oh shit that's a different type of weapon damage so, tab back in, unequip my guy, put on the armour for that specific weapon and go to the mission.... Which is Skull 2, Conquest and 3 floors... Is this difficult? Is it easy? I don't know. None of the information here tells me what this actually means. But it doesn't matter anyway, I play the same way as I did before. Move forward, right click behind me (since turning is free but enemies will come behind you and you can only see in a cone in front) and any corner or door I peek behind as I said above.

I could go on.

>>
>>65404002
I played the demo and was sorely disappointed. The game falls apart when there's not much time pressure, the plotting is just transcribing into drawing what the teletype says, basically no logic is required, and all the rest of the actions are just busy work that's fun the first few times and then you're stuck looking at the animations for the gorillionth time. The ballistics are all wrong, and there's no consideration given to the angle of impact, dispersion, and so on. Narratively, it makes no sense that such an important piece of equipment is given to a solitary retard because 1) it would take dozens of people to operate it, and 2) the single guy goes rogue and suddenly your capital gets turned into rubble.
Allowing legs for the obvious rule of cool, the design of the whole thing is beyond stupid: setting aside how much space is wasted, the turret is an enlarged Bismarck turret, the art shows the ears, yet no optical rangefinder inside; worst offenders however are the frontal window since it's a massive weakspot, and the jack screw elevating the guns going through the top of the roof instead of residing in the turret well.

Gameplay concessions must often be made.
But I think you could get an effective real life crew for operating it while fully loaded with as little as 10 people.

>>
>>65404002
>>65410604
Honestly, I think something like Iron Nest would make great sense as a revival of the "starship bridge crew" games that morphed into modern friendslop. Make each task a bit more complicated and divide it up between a crew of 4 or so and you'd probably be able to sell well, especially if you offer a 4-pack sale or something.
>Commander
Nominally in charge, is the one that gets to actually pull the trigger and drive the big stompy gun around. Maybe gets some radar screens that need to be monitored to avoid counterbattery fire or something
>Gunner
In charge of actually plotting the firing solution, probably the most involved task.
>Loader
Located in the ammo storage, the loader has to use a bunch of heavy equipment to ensure the proper ammo and propellants are being supplied. This means playing a constant game of organizing the magazine and planning future shots, as well as making do with what's available.
>Radio operator
Monitors multiple radios simultaneously, as well as having an overall picture of the battlefield. Has to take in fire support requests and relay them to the rest of the crew, as well as decode high-priority textual messages sent from high command.

I envision an average play session starting off smoothly, then slowly descending into chaos as tasks and problems pile up.
>loader is trying to explain that he knows the gunner did the calculations for a medium shell and standard powder charges, but the medium ones are all in the back of the magazine so he's sending up a heavyweight, so just redo the firing solution
>radio operator trying to tell commander that actually we should scrub this shot entirely because an urgent fire mission just came through and the other one should wait
>loader is mad at commander for moving the mech because he loses hydraulic pressure in his ammo crane when it's in motion
>radio operator telling everyone to shut the fuck up because he's listening to three different channels and trying to decode a message

>>65411722
The blast radius of a 250kt is large enough that you can pick a target outside of effective AAA range and still kill the AAA. What I normally do is pick two targets at opposite ends of a base and drop two nukes, which usually results in one of them getting through and wiping out the whole base.
>>
>>65412665
Played the last two playtests. It was extremely rough. The first was so bad they delayed the game after it. The second was chaos, not in the good way, because cross platform. I cannot imagine they have it all figured out by now.
Aside from normal gameplay issues you expect the player base seems to be much more stupid than HLL. Like they are all RPing as Project 100,000 soldiers.

Generally the AK-74M is preferable, most mods have some annoying animations for the 74U with a very time intensive stock unfolding anime.
It gets really bothersome whenever you switch equipment or if the mod has animations for any activity/item.
>>
>>65416128
But the AK-74M has folding stock too?

Yeah but afaik most mods don't use animations where it folds out. Generally those seem to be only a thing with skeletonized stocks, no clue why.

>>65416279
I honestly can't call it particularly egregious, sure it can be a bit corny and simple but it's ok.

>>
>>65416348
Pirates shouting about how killing people makes them cum or telling me to breath manually is something I will call particularly egregious.
But I never liked borderlands' dialogue or tone, which seems like what the devs were going for with this game's characters.
>>
>>65416352
Personally I do not mind it for them. To me it seems on brand for a cliche pirate pumped full of drugs but I get how that might be a bit too lazy/crude of a depictions.
>>
>>65416362
A cliche pirate seems to me like he should be threatening and not an unserious clown. The trailers certainly didn't make it seem like the pirates would be trying to turn the game into a comedy skit with some help from some of the characters.
>>
>>65416373
The idea that was floated by the devs is that the more serious people are supposed to be operating behind them and the grunts are talking to us, though as it stood when I last played it this didn't really come across so much.

No, it's Cooking Mama meets Silent Hunter: you're buttoned inside a metal coffin where you carry a series of repetitve tasks to perform under increasing time pressure, all revolving around plotting a firing solution after deducing the enemy's location, which is trivial, but from what I've seen both you and the target are stationary and there is no actual ballistics involved, so there's not much complexity. In a sense it's closer to pétanque than it is to golf or minigolf.

Other question:

We have found out that you don't need the engine to do an emergency move, that the main power switch doesn't seem to do anything, that you don't need the protocol switches to fire and that valves can steam for a long time before pressure drops to critical level.
What the fuck is the purpose of all that shit?

That said the data cards the computer spits out makes me think that IN was always meant for multiplayer. The aiming degree is already saved on your clipboard when you plot the angle and range. Its simple enough to math out the range mentally for most missions so the card the computer gives you is nearly irrelevant.
But giving the card to someone who wasnt in on the calculations who is running the loading part of the shot would find it very valuable.

Split the gunner into map plotter and gunner. One does the targeting, the other computes the firing solutions for each gun. While one is busy on a target, the other can take care of a different, already defined one. No time wasted.

Better yet: adapt this to singleplayer.
Be a commander that manages a crew. Assign people, give priorities, dispatch orders, take direct control of a station if needed (like if a crew member dies during counter battery - or if you want to refine a firing solution). With individual stats that make each crew member better suited for a specific task.
Add morale (friendly fire: reduced moral, reduced effectiveness), fatigue (would be interesting for timed missions, forcing you to manage your crew more efficiently between missions), maybe even loyalty to you, in case of dangerous fire missions, like bombing a civilian area and targeting very close to allies, forcing you to take direct control or risk your crew fucking up the shot.
Have your entire gun's effectiveness, accuracy, reload, targeting and firing time based on this.

IMO that would be even better than being a one-man artillery division. Which you could still be if you wanted to play without a crew.

I'd pay a big price for a game that allows you to do everything I listed but with a real artillery unit to manage as a commander. You don't need crazy graphics, you could simply model your immediate surroundings in 3D, have some endless forest or field as a background, based on the location, just like what they're doing when you look outside of the turret. Most of the work would go on animating the crews and the guns rather than a huge turret with wheels to turn.

Project Silverfish is a pretty fun take on the STALKER formula if you can get over it being furshit.
>no HUD unless your headpiece comes with one
>damage is calculated mostly off of caliber with a +/- depending on the muzzle velocity of the gun in question
>every firearm has multiple ammo types, with basic shit starting with FMJ and AP, larger calibers getting stuff like tandem rounds, and eventually .50 HE for the Big Game stuff the game throws at you
>relics and hazards and cryptids
>competing factions from fascist chuds, hippie commies who don't use money, old world military complete with blue helmets, and some cultists who possess the secret to making Sam Fisher NVs
>one dungeon is literally just Hell
Biggest flaw of the game is that the AI is pretty simple and not super smart, but there's enough going on that it didnt kill the game for me.

Also it's not done, but what the dev has put together so far held my attention for long enough and I'm looking forward to the complete game.

It's a bit ambiguous how much is sci-fi and how much might be fantasy in Silverfish. On one hand, what's left of humanity are all post-human cyborgs that run off of perpetual motion machine oil that also probably caused normies to slip out of reality (and is almost certainly an allegory for fossil fuels 'cause the dev is a pinko).

On the other, there's a lot of... fae stuff happening.
>children vanished all at once, possibly under the guidance of a distinct 'kingly' entity
>when you snort moondust you slip into an extradimensional space and after coming down from your high you always wind up 'at home'
>loads of the artifacts are openly fantastical in flavor if not explicitly in nature
>the hell dungeon
It's a pretty dope vibe, honestly. As long as the dev can keep his politics in his pants and properly flesh out all the factions I think he'll have something really neat on his hands.

Controlers were good for flying and decent for dogfihgts, but good fucking luck trying to land without fucking crashing. joystick was fine for flying and for a2a combat, but was absolute shitte for trying to make a bomb runs other than making a suicidal vertical dive. Been playing HLL Vietnam, the game does a decent job at portraying combat imo, I've a had a few insane moments where we're walking through the jungle and suddenly gunfire starts all around for a couple minutes, then it subsists and we find ourselves trying to be as quiet as possible while searching for each other. Really nervewrecking sometimes.
I do pitty the poor heli pilots though, players are absolute retards as of now, they either only use the helis at the beginning of the game and then never again bother using them to try flanking or they do not use them at all and prefer to walk... I blame SLs for this though, they should be the ones asking their squads to spawn at HQ and have helis give them a ride and I haven't had one single SL doing that.

There's no reason to get the whole squad to redeploy for that, heli's should be hot dropping small teams of solo SL's all over the place to set up sneaky OP's the same way gooks can drop tunnels, then bring in the supply chopper and drop a garry where one of the SL's makes headway.

Just a little bit.

Honestly, as fun as the infantry combat is I think my favorite part is getting a more-or-less ground level view of what the big boy weapons do to infantry and light armor. I always thought the Jericho was a bit lame in the original but holy christ it's amazing in the BK demo. Functionally it instantly deletes buildings and foot mobiles in a 50-yard radius and tosses APCs around like toys while having the best weapon sounds in the entire game and on the Vorverkhuhn you can tack on a Disco or Mae Dois for your secondary.

BK is smaller scale
>Great Leader is dead, Solo Nobre has fallen
>you are now part of a Loyalist cell on the pleasure planet Mar Nosso
>You are here to kill the Brigadors
>Make. Them. Pay.
Pic related, the dude on the left is you.

Instead of only going down to mogs and bikes, the game actually starts you out in your boots and has a stronger focus on infantry combat. You can (and probably will) get gigged by some chucklefuck with an 8 gauge blunderbuss, at least before you work up to the big toys. The main campaign seems a bit more story focused than the first game but the overall structure hasn't changed a whole lot - a mission with a set of parameters and a few loadouts to choose between but you won't always have wheels.

There's also a freeplay mode (called Garage Mode) where you actually scavenge gear from various mission maps; scavenging guns from gang stashes, stealing cars to scavenge for parts, making runs to the black market for special goods (and then evading the police), etc. With your ultimate 'goal' being to dive down into the multi-level dungeon and see if you can hit the bottom before you die or quit out.

The lower level shit is fun. The tighter focus lets shit like the Mog shine; mowing down Corvid LARPers and rent-a-cops like wheat. I went through a huge rigmarole to get my hands on a Coffin in Garage Mode and it was one of the best investments I made outside of the cargo van. Shit was fast, durable enough, and since it was open top I could wear the heavier personal rig in case I had to dismount.

>>
>>65433431
>What's the difference between Brigadors and Brigadors Killers?
It's a lot more granular, what with you starting out as a grunt modding civilian vehicles.

Acquisition mechanics have been improved. You steal stuff to add it to your garage, which is more fun, more liberal and more immersive than locking it behind making the number go up. That also improves the sense of scale and progression, because you're actually working your way up from a grunt to a city wrecker this time around. I would hope that mission difficulties will spike based on how big your ride is and how destructive you are while going on about your business. Brigador was nice, but the game world wasn't very reactive and the maps weren't actually interconnected - every which exit led to the next map in the chain you picked, with early exits through space ports being the only option outside of your chosen pre-set.

They hopefully will improve on the "immersive" play aspects and mission structures by making different approaches viewable. They already showed off sniping, car bombs and missions that don't require you to wreck as much as possible of everything.

>What's the difference between Brigadors and Brigadors Killers?
Killers dramatically expands scale and granularity, basically. As the demo consists of a few tutorial/prequel missions and then a basic freeplay mode and the whole thing is very much a beta with tons of placeholders and crap I'm reserving final judgement but so far the scaling from "running around in your skivvies with a handgun" to "soloing a small army with a mech" is outstanding. Basting mooks on foot with shitty SMGs feels great and you can feel the power spikes when you get your first big boy guns and rig suit, running around in power armor with an MG42 and an RPG feels great and if anything the stompy-shooty-building-smashy mech gameplay has been improved since the original. The sounds are better, the lighting and GRAFIX are better and IMO even the weapons feel better. There are certainly a few tweaks I'd like to see (first and foremost being able to reload weapons independently) but the devs have promised that the EA build is going to be much more polished and given their track record I believe them.

Duiker Carbine so far fucks hard

Turning the funny mech game into an extraction shooter was certainly one of the decisions of all time
>>
>>65440834
That looks really good. Like a grittier version of Synthetik's gun aesthetik.
>>
>>65440834
In the demo I loved the Duiker Carbine. From a kneeling position it was basically a sniper rifle, I was deleting dudes on the other side of the screen with one, at most two shots. Please tell me it's at least kinda usable anymore.

Is it bad that I have to say that doesn't exactly narrow things down these days?

Are the controls still retarded?

I pledge my life to the bonesaw.

I love that we have an actual model for the black hand now.

That was already in the demo though

Is it worth it over the demo? I've been considering just not getting it until it's feature complete.

Yep, it's bullying time. I just wish that there was a way to haul chests with smaller vehicles, as in like literally dragging them behind you with a tow strap while being reduced to a walking pace.

Eh, depends on whether you want to throw some cash at the devs or not. I dropped $30 on the deluxe edition to support the devs because I'm confident that the finished product will be great; the core gameplay loop in the demo was already ridiculously enjoyable, the music, lore and GRAFIX are top-shelf and I trust them to deliver. On the other hand, what's there of the story campaign past what was in the demo is basically just a cocktease and so far the mission progress in the garage has been pretty slow.

Brigador Killers got infected with extraction shooter elements which is the 2020s version of a live service single player + co op type always online thing. And sometimes, you get both those things at once.
>>

>>65443185
Yeah, so far it seems like a downgrade from the original
doesn't help that the controls feel weird and you can't unload guns you find, despite that working in the demo

I don't think it did, I'm pretty sure that was complained about then. You technically can unload weapons, but only at the armory so it's basically useless. The devs have said they're looking into adding it in mission.

UE5? its the only engine that consistently gives me wildly inconsistent performance when forcing it to run in full 3d for headsets

The data generated by these apps will be used to scam boomer senior into transferring their wealth to the ultra-rich. It's a pious thing to do, I understand.

The game already features shopping carts. Somebody go on Twitter and remind them, they can be easily balanced by making them annoyingly loud.

/k/ino game. Especially when unscouted artillery elements suddenly pop up after nailing your target and counter-battery alarms go off
>>
>>65407400
the mech is a naval turret firing deep into the hinterland. Naval rangefinders work since they are in an open area at sea with, usually, direct visuals on targets. On land the visual will be obscured with terrain and buildings

Considering how detailed the mechanical operations are inside the machine I doubt the dev simply did not know what the range finders on the naval turrets were and not take them into account

I like playing WARNO, sending KDA Schützen to their certain death with a little bit of military police motivation will never not be funny
