I just like revolvers more
>>
ok
>>
You never have to worry about having to guess whether someone prefers revolvers or not, because if they do they will let you know as soon as physically possible even if you didn't ask.

i didn't think so until i counted how many I have and it was quite a lot.
what is your favorite?

i almost broke my gun last night. tried to remove the magazine disconnect (didn't have a proper punch and failed) then couldn't get the locking insert to set back in position for about 10 minutes. almost lost the associated spring too.

What should I do if I want to carry grandpa’s old otter gun, but it’s 6”?
It’s a 1905 S&W. I don’t feel like I can exactly cut it down, but then again- everything in life I’ve acquired will either be owned by someone else, or end up in the trash.
What do?

My grandpa also left be a large magnum. GP100 with 5-6 inch barrel. As much fun as it would be to carry it’s just not going to happen. It stays oiled and happy in my safe and take it to the range on occasion.
>>
>>65421949
Maybe you’re right anon.. maybe I should just keep it oiled and in the safe.

Make thread less lame… post revolvers
>>
i think revolvers are cool (especially in big bore cartridges), but semiautos just tend to be more practical in 90% of scenarios.

People get lost in the small details. If you like shooting it, your probably gonna shoot more often. And keeping in practice is gonna outweigh most on paper advantages.. to each their own

has anyone ever bought a set of those fancy wood grips from thailand off ebay?

Pathetic

i do own a nice gp100 and love shooting it, but for concealed carry small semiautos are better as theyre slimmer than a cylinder. for regular carry having a lot of rounds with a quick reload is nice compared to 5-7 in a revolver.
though if you're in alaska, then big bore would be a necessity if youre hiking around.
>>
>>65422721
And in all those cases shooting regularly because you enjoy the gun you carry (and are thus more likely to take it out shooting) is going to be the biggest determining factor in your control… not round count or how easy it is to conceal.. and honestly I recommend 10mm for bear unless you actually want to practice regularly with your 44 mag/ 454 casull…. Otherwise the big bore snubnose hand cannon is probably more of a hindrance than a help….

How big is your largest revolver?
>>
>>65421926
Why was your grandpa shooting otters? Was he a maniac?
>>
>>65422721
This. I looooove my revolvers, but I regularly carry my slim autoloaders. They’re just better and easier to conceal. Even the most compact snub nose is thick and heavy to carry.
>>
>>65422380
>>
>>65422774
i only own guns i enjoy shooting (though i shoot some more than others due to round cost), but autoloaders are objectively better in most aspects.
you are correct though if someone owns an lcp but never practices with it vs having fun with a snubnose revolver, then it'd be better to carry the snubnose, but concealment is just easier with an lcp.

500 bushwacker converted 10 inch BFR. The three inch brake adds some length, it’s an absolute monster of a round and you can still run regular 500 mag through it if you want lower power.. it’ll take a 510 gn hardcast up to about 2150 fps with the 10 inch barrel..
that things sweet anon, 410/45? Haven’t run into that specific one before.. is that the revolver shotgun cut down to be a “normal” revolver without the stock? Cool gun.

Personally other than a mateba, the weird revolver gun I’d like to get is the lever action version of the circuit judge… it’s like someone asked chat gpt to make a “Wild West gun” lol

At less than ten yards out of a 2" barrel, is the ballistic difference between .357mag and .38+p completely negligible?
