So far they have not embarrassed themselves and they are Russia's #1 ally. Ignoring how Kim has Putin by the balls how have the Nork's troops been doing?

There has been enough time past in this war where we can have an adult conversation about the quality of North Korean soldiers compared to the quality of the average Russian soldier.

I want to have this conversation.
>>
I'm not entirely sure we have a decent method of understanding their effectiveness. I think one of the issues (and I may be misremembering here) is that they are sent over and equipped and deployed by the Russians, they don't use their own gear or their own TTPs. If that's correct then they're probably just more meat that can't read any of the signs or can barely communicate with anyone.
>>
>>65427836
Living up to your name
>>
Supposedly they're surprisingly disciplined and also very quick to kill themselves if they think they're going to be captured
>>
>>65427950

Didn't they get into a firefight with the Kadyrovites and now the Chechens won't act as barrier troops against them, because they're too scared?
>>
>>65427950
They are disciplined but do not commit sedoku nearly as much as mobiks do
>>
>>65427958
Chechens are such massive pussies, it's wild how they had this tough guy persona before the war started and revealed what they're truly like
>>
>>65427836
There's literally no way to know outside of just the small snapshots we have of their REALLY outdated equipment, but considering the fact that they have almost no combat experience I really doubt they'd last long in a conventional war, the real fear is that they'd just unleash a massive artillery barrage on Seoul before anyone could really respond which would be a pretty damn bad hit to SK in general, but odds are the Norks would get their shit pushed in HARD after the first hour when SK air strikes started taking their artillery out.
>>
Assuming we cant trust any official Russian or Nork accounts of their effectiveness, what other evidence or accounts do we have that are at least slightly more trustworthy to accurately gauge their effectiveness?

they embarrass themselves since the late 50's, retard
>>
>>65427836
The quality of their soldiers generally doesn't matter. Same way the quality of South Koreans in Vietnam didn't matter. What matters is the financial, material and political gains they make from this.
So far it seems to be paying off. According to South Korean intel the Russians paid $10 billion for the grunts and shells alone. This doesn't include raw materials, oil and food also provided to North Korea. Mind you the entire annual gdp of North Korea is merely $27 billion.
Now the question remains if Kim will be able to turn these gains into long term profit. Right now he can milk the Russians for whatever money they have left, but that cow is obviously going to run dry eventually.
>>
>>65428001
It's been a while but iirc the Ukrainians did report that Norks are somewhat more competent and disciplined than the Russians in Kursk.
>>
I remember we were thinking they were penal battalions or other such chafe but nah they were spec ops and didn't bring NK equipment
I also don't think they operated drones, just worked as grunts with their literal Korean war tactics and using themselves as bait for ukie drones
their presence prompted SK spec ops to Ukraine - there's a story we're not hearing about
>>
>>65428012

Norks are ok in the realm of retarded. That's not a high bar. They are institutionally incapable of manufacturing material sacrifice so for example lost wax casting puts them in a bad mood because they wanted the wax too.
>>

Not a Best Korea supporter or anything but seeing Kim hug that soldier after returning from the front and him breaking down in front of the wall of his fallen comrades brought a tear to my eye.
>>
>>65427836
Imagine if Russia was just Moscow and St. Petersburg, and they were surrounded on all sides by hostile highly militerized states that don't put up with their nonsense? That's what NK actually is. The only reason they're not running around going "NK #1" is because South Korea is so much larger and stronger so they can't.
>>
>>65428555
That's not exactly a high bar to clear, Russians have spent the entire war proving they're about some of the most militarily incompetent people on the plant, goat fuckers are genuinely better fighters

In a way, they’re products of modernity, or more specifically of the identity vacuum it created. They got absorbed into the Ummah LARP, even though the Chechens who fought the Russians were often competent, disciplined Soviet-trained officers who used Soviet tactics. The current generation, by contrast has been socialized into a broader Ummah identity and now LARPs as part of the South Asian diaspora, shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ and getting themselves killed

Speaking logically a deal with the Norks that involved incremental trade concessions in exchange for them stopping military support for Russia would be the best way to stop the war in Ukraine. Russia simply cannot fight without their munitions, not unless they want to lose even faster.

It's basically grifter mentality. "You help me out, or else!" Not that other administrations haven't engaged in copious amounts of grifting, blackmailing and other chicanery but they were infinitely more subtle and nuanced about it.

Is there a transcript? From what i can tell the guy was very well equipped and the 'unboxing' was done in the professional and respectful manner, my only real complaint is that they should have blurred his features (or at least his eyes) besides for a single close up of his teeth which is relevant info.

His teeth look great and even look like they have had basic western level work done on them which indicates a relatively upper class background.

I didn't think so. Seems pretty self explanatory:

>Pretty well equipped
>HIGHLY trained unit if the ranks are correct
>High morale and skills
>Not ready for the reality of the theater
>Good soldiers, need to adapt

My biggest question is that they might be too highly trained to be adaptable although the shotgun and notebook tends to say they can adapt.

My only real issue that object to (and frankly Ukraine should know better) is they should have blurred his face or at least blacked out his eyes, the only relevant thing there was his features and mostly that was the status of his teeth. Showing his face like that is probably a minor Geneva violation.

While Russia doesn't care Ukraine should, as far as we know Norks are literally the only party to this war whose troops have NOT committed verifiable war crimes*

*I'm talking about Nork battlefield troops not doing war crimes, not the guys who are flinging KN-23/24s at cities.

They entered the war to fight, Russians aren't really given the liberty of anonymity after they die, so why should norks? Especially considering the fact that the only people who could identify them are other North Koreans.

A soldier is a soldier, and as far as this war is concerned, few dead soldiers get the privileged of staying anonymous after they have already been layed out. Especially if they havent rotted before they can be identified. They didnt even zoom in on their face (purposefully anyways), so as far as most people are concerned, its just another victim from the steppe.

I know your namefag is Norktard, but you aren't retarded enough to forget the Norks are the invaders here, not the other way around. Hopefully he got either a decent burial or cremation.

Rubio is smarter than hegseth. Any face off would be between him and Vance. Im pretty sure 90% of the Pentagon staff wat to throw hegseth into a blender themselves and serve him as ground chicken in a recruit depot, so he would at least provide some value to the armed forces.

It has been almost 20 years since i have had a security clearance but it was pretty specific stuff, i'm sure someone is looking over me and my online posts who is not OK with me not leaving the Country.

>>65433311
The Norks fight for Kim and Country. They have contempt for Russia but need the benefits so they are willing to die for the greater good as they see it. Most Americans i've met can't understand the idea of dying so future generations can have a better tomorrow. It might be propaganda in the Nork's case but they believe it and are willing to die for it, that is something i respect.

>the Norks are the invaders here
No that is incorrect. The Nork's ally is the Russian invaders, the Norks only fight to defend their ally at least officially. So far Nork troops fight to defend Russian soil, not to invade Ukraine. That is an important distinction.

The DPRK doesn't care about invading Ukraine, before the war they were friends. It is Russia who has forced this conflict, the Norks are just upholding treaties and making Putin Kim's bitch.

If the Norks were sure that they would have security assurances and normal relations with the west they would turn on Russia and do so very quickly. I think this is what Trump is trying to do: Nixon went to China, Trump wants to go to Pyongyang.

The world is crazy right now, could you imagine a world a year or two from now where Russia and North Korea were enemies and Ukraine was the one getting shells from the Norks? I sure as hell can.

Nope, the Wosan resort city is open for guests and business. From what i can figure out he got concussed by a blast, got knocked out then they found him. They were intent on capturing a Nork to prove that they were there for intel reasons. While trying to secure him and render medical treatment he put up resistance (he woke up and tried to kill everyone) and they had to break both his arms, legs and smash his jaw* before they could take him. I'd like to say no, but the Carter administration managed to convince Israel and Egypt to bury the hatchet. Then again, Egypt was broke and unstable on top of being fully aware it stood no chance whatsoever against the IDF even with backing of other Arab tribes so it's not like they had any better alternative. The Yen is struggling, so I could see Japan begrudgingly accepting on the condition that Best Korea stops flinging TBMs into their waters or through their airspace if another stimulus package is thrown their way but for Seoul? The DPRK has already made peace with the South and just wants a formal treaty with the South, the USA and the UN. That is happening right now.

As long as the DPRK is vaguely engaged with the USA in trade and is at least neutral then Japan and the RoK have a great shield to protect them from China. The DPRKs atomic weapons and military might are that shield as is the DPRK's influence over Russia.

Xi's nightmare is the DPRK having power over Moscow and at least cordial relations with the USA/RoK/Japan, the DPRK has alot of legacy friends like Cambodia, Vietnam, Sweden (!) and Thailand as well not to mention Africa.

Seoul will be fine, long term i'd worry about Beijing.

They used Koksans and a few Bulsae launchers in Kursk. The Bulsae's were not a big deal as there weren't many of them but the Koksans were, Ukraine started hunting them. They hit a few but no lasting damage beside one that was being towed that was a total loss. They are tough and small drone payloads can't kill them. Baba Yaga's can't do it.

Somewhere there is a clip of an observation drone calling down a HIMARS cluster bomb attack on a battery of them but they relocated a bit and tanked it. They are pretty tough, the DPRK designed them assuming the enemy would have total air supremacy and that has worked out for them. They aren't invincible but they do seem to have higher survivability than Russian equivalents.

Nixon had to airlift ammo, tanks, guns and whatever weapon system available in Europe to Israel in order to even out early Israeli losses. The overall Arab failure is also more to blame on Assad and the Syrians shitting the bed on Golan than on Egypt. It was the failed Egyptian offensive meant to relieve pressure from Syria that laid the groundwork for the future Israeli war winning counterattack. Burying the hatchet was as much in Israeli interest as it was in Egyptian.

The problem is that it's not actually clear what South Korea, Canada, etc. can do for America here. The stalemate really comes down to the fact that Trump and Israel thought decapitating Iran's leadership would quickly result in the government being couped by those anti-regime protesters, but that hasn't panned out. If regime change was still something the US wants they'd need to deploy ground troops to go in and root the fuckers out themselves, but the rank-and-file don't have the morale for that right now.
So what can SK bring to the table? Money? America has money. Footsoldiers? Politically inconceivable without American boots also on the ground. Munitions? They could blow up a few more Iranian boats and barracks but that's just kicking the can down the road.
If there was an easy means of just putting the Ayatollah's head on a pike (well, the new one's :V) to get the economy back to normal, everybody would take it.

>>65433543
Actually they did do better. The history of North Korean pilots in the Cold War is pretty interesting.

At one point almost half the Mig-18/21 pilots over Vietnam were Norks. They fought in almost every Cold War conflict involving jets and did well. Their pilots aren't flying the most advanced aircraft but historically they are competent.

Also they have the ultimate 'fuck you we are awesome ' street credentials because they shot down one of the worlds best jets with a fucking biplane.

You are partially correct.

Their first deployment was under Russian command and there were Chechens present. This is prior to the fight in Kursk. The Mobniks complained that they had better gear and support, the Norks demanded it as standard treatment of their troops. The Chechens tried their usual shit, the Norks just shot them on sight. There were a few Nork/Chechen fights, the Norks won. Like 'Chechens getting hit with ATGMS' Norks winning. So Norks get a separate command structure.

In Kursk the Norks got slaughtered but they did the job and took it back, they beat back Ukraine and secured the territory of Russia that Russia could not take back themselves in the face of a Ukrainian invasion. The DPRK are sworn allies of Russia and will defend them if they are invaded, this is why the DPRK fought in Kursk.

The DPRK will not help Russia in a invasion. Russians might fantasize about the 105th Armored Division and the Pyongyang Army Corps coming to save them or invade the Baltic Nations, it isn't happening.

The DPRK might be tough but they aren't going to fight all of NATO on behalf of Russia when Russia can't defend itself. The Nork's are going to get real sick and tired of Russia the instant Russia can't pay it's bills in gold bars or Plutonium.

Here is a question i've been liking to ask: Is the DPRK a good ally to have?

Historically they are very good allies, in the Cold War it was the DPRK, Cuba and that was it for support from the USSR or PRC. Vietnam, Egypt, Iran, Syria, you name the place and the DPRK was there. The DPRK even got $100 million in gold bars from the USA to assist their joint ally in Ethiopia.

So i guess the question is: Do you think the DPRK would be a good military ally to your nation?

Administratively and Militarily, let me repeat that last part. .

You could also read up on the war or watch a documentary before of trying to sound like a smartass.
The initial Egyptian operation was a success and the Israeli counter attack a costly failure. Operation Nickel Grass wasn't launched because Nixon was feeling fruity one day. Egypt's plan was then to hunker down along the Suez and force the Israelis to sit down an negotiate. This went out the window because the Syrians disintegrated on contact and Assad was crying to help non-stop. So the Egyptians made the fatal mistake of launching an offensive into Sinai where they lacked AA-battery cover and got demolished by the Israeli air force. This in turn left their lines weakened and allowed Israel to exploit that during their renewed offensive.

It has already happened on a modest scale. We have bought Nork weapons for Ethiopia and the UAE does it quietly all the time.

Early in the war Wagner bought a bunch of really shitty Nork rockets that were in Sudan.

Turns out Zelensky is personal friends with the General who runs Sudan, 122mm rockets from the same warehouse and batch showed up in Ukrainian hands but weren't crap and didn't mysteriously explode like the ones Wagner got. Western ideology is rational materialism. Even the whole Enlightenment thing is about not fucking yourself over with pointless conflicts.
A psychopath is a being of pure ego who is all about putting others down to feel good about himself. Wealth is just a symbol of his winning over the ignorant as he scams them. A psychopath is not playing the game by the same set of rules and with the same outlook you are, they are snakes in the grass of a civilized social system.
Trump hates our allies because they’re not full of hate like he is. Just as he thinks soldiers are stupid for choosing to risk their lives for a cause instead of conning rubes, he thinks a politician is weak and stupid for doing their civic duty instead of abusing the system for their own gain. Trump loves dictators because they’ve seized the entire system for themselves and that’s what he wants for himself.
>>
>>65439804
Why would the Saudis care about funneling weapons that end up in Ukraine helping to blow up the only nation besides the US that produces more oil than them? Anything that hurts Russia without their fingerprints on it helps the Saudis and the nations mentioned already buy Nork weapons.

It would harm Iran as well, if anything the Saudis would help such a arraignment.

>USA, jewed, attacks and cripples Iran, a strategic partner to Russia
The war objectively profits Russia more than it harms them, mostly because it's throttling if not outright stopping supplies of interceptors to Ukraine and their allies in the short to mid term, and also because the loss of Hormuz oil and gas provides Russia with extra leverage and economic gains (although they're not taking advantage of it because Ukraine anticipated it by buck breaking their oil industry). Don't try to frame it as the US trying to fuck with Russia, Trump is just a retard lashing out because no one wants to join his SMO.

The UAE already buys arms from everyone including the Norks to give to third parties and to diversify their suppliers, they are one of only three customers for Koksans and even offered them as intermediaries at a regional arms show a while back. Them shipping Nork weapons to Ukraine would change nothing beside giving them to someone who hurts a Saudi geopolitical enemy for once.

Having quasi US oversight of those shipments would be in the Saudi's interests. Besides the Saudis should play nice with the Norks; it helps undermine Iran and give them a second option other than Pakistan if they need to buy atomic weapons in a hurry.

There is a very strong case that by 'normalizing' the DPRKs behavior you remove a huge existential threat to Israel. Besides the proliferation issue (Pakistan has nukes and missiles with Nork help) they are hostile to Israel and are utterly immune to any domestic pro Israeli influence, perhaps the only nation that can claim that.

In the (very) highly unlikely event that they somehow became active combatants the Norks could fling (conventional) ballistics at them with near impunity, maybe if Israel had a sub in the Indian ocean they could launch a few missiles but otherwise they can't do shit. Even in a completely batshit insane nuclear war scenario where Israel struck first (a sub would be the only real practical method) the Norks would have a second and third strike capability. The DPRK can take multiple atomic hits, Israel can't take one and that is ignoring the fact that not only do the Norks have rough parity (and superior delivery means) to Israel they are very soon going to have superiority and shortly after that overmatch.

Constraining the DPRK is very much in Israel's interests.

Read up on Kim jong Nam. After the attempt failed PRC/DPRK relations took a huge hit, the PRC diplomatic presence was reduced to the point they could not maintain their embassy, at one point it was just 3-5 people and the Norks almost starved their Embassy personnel. Nam tried to defect to the USA but got greedy, he wanted to keep all the money he skimmed from the Norks criminal enterprises and was attempting to leverage his knowledge of the DPRK's underworld operations with the CIA to smuggle out is 'IL' gotten gains. His family got out but he lingered too long and got a rag soaked with a nerve agent shoved into his mouth by Nork female assassins, one wearing a shirt that said "LOL' on it. They used VX in two components to protect themselves. To add insult they got away with it despite neither being DPRK citizens, one was Indonesian and the other Vietnamese. Nam's family went first however, they are in the USA or probably a related 5 eyes nation most likely Canada.

The trolls are super mad because the 'massive attack' didn't do shit and the UA is throwing 600+ missiles at them daily.

They are also getting passive-aggressive against the DPRK since their troops are better, their leaders are better and Nork missiles are getting hit less than theirs.

Why that last part? The Nork missiles have better range and crews than the Russian ones.

KN-23s are reaching parity with Iskanders in terms of accuracy but started out with better range and payloads. New Iskanders are starting to incorporate KN-23 features to simplify construction and make them more cost efficient.

When the DPRK joined the war Russians never though it would be the Norks who would be teaching them how to do things right, they are starting to get butthurt over it and Trump making a deal with Kim scares the shit out of them because that would instantly lose them the war.

Three words that sums up Russia's ass pain right now: NORK CLIENT STATE

Cool plan, maybe try this with a few natural Allies.
Sadly, these natural Allies (SK, Japan, Philippines, Vietnam, maybe even Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia and India) all hate each other almost as much as they hate China.
