>red dot
I know they existed and were used during black hawk down 5 years prior and umbrella would have the resources to give their guys red dots, but the gun decisions in RE2make and 3 make are really soulless. Kind of weird how they made all the guns in 2make and 3make modern but they made like half of the guns in 9 unreasonably retro for 2026. A beretta M1934 for a "standard issue" handgun for security, a sig 232 for concealed carry in 2018 or 2026. I guess the Uzi must have been in Racoon City since at least 1998, but BSAA using a M1A over a SCAR or AR-10/AR308 is weird, I've never seen an M1A get through an entire high power match without malfunctioning. Also kind of weird that Victor had a Winchester Model 70 sitting in his office that in theory could be as old as the first game since it's from a 1992-2006 production run. Grace joins REmake Claire in being very /k/. RE2make Claire was open carrying a revolver Chris must have bought her because, presumably what ever state racoon city is in lets 18 year olds OC but only 21+ get a ccw. The Sig 232's description in RE9 said Grace spent her first paycheck on it for self defense

Even then, that setup is only anachronistic by a couple years. The game takes place in 1998, and the CQBR entered service in 2000. It’s plausible that umbrella, a mega corporation, could have contracted some early.

That's not what he's saying at all. What he's saying is that Hunk is the tacticool version of a fudd. He's an old man in a young man's game, and become convinced that the way he did things when he was 23 are still the best, or at least good enough, because otherwise he'd be dead.

The kind of guy too set in his ways to get with the times, but everyone lets him get away with it because he's a veteran.

Not based on og 2, he had a stock mp5, in the 4th survivor he had standard weapons as well. It was retconed later that he was a more modern high speed low drag fag, hell his og kit is a gey jump suit with a ballistic vest, a bump helmet, and a gas mask. He was equipped for a quick in and out covert action into a company controlled location against soft targets not an ongoing outbreak.
>>
>>65443731
the series has gone on too long and become too self-referential. hunk had a knife in RE2 because he got btfod and lost his weapons, not because he intentionally chose to carry just a knife, this has been over time abstracted into him being a flamboyant knife-obsessed weirdo; leading to how he appears in Requiem where instead of callously shooting Leon in the head (as was his original characterization), he insists on a duel.
>>
>>65443884
thats exactly what he was saying, hes dressed in full 90s VBSS getup, which was top of the line at the time. youre projecting this notion of gear hipsterism onto a guy wearing entirely contemporary equipment.

Anything Japper runs exclusively off Rule of Cool. ESPECIALLY vidya. Resident Evil stands out for having customized weaponry for the protagonists long before most western media. The Samurai Edges and MGS3's 1911 are very well thought out, practical designs that could've been created within the time period.

>>65443898
Hunk was literally the best of the best during RE2. None of the big name protags had done more than escape the mansion/RC by that point. No one stays at the absolute top of the game (the game being solo fighting your way through hundreds of highly dangerous bioweapons) without being able to adapt and evolve with changing conditions and equipment.
>>
>>65443908
Uh, yes? There was nothing hipster or retrograde about that outfit in 1998.
>>
>>65443996
I dont dispute that, but how does any of that relate to what I posted?
>>
>>65444003
What's the complaint exactly? Is it SOVL enough or is it not practical enough? I think the logical answer is Jappers making vidya in the mid-late 90's probably didn't care about being realistic, they wanted to put in guns they saw in magazines and movies they thought were neat. With 30 years having passed, and every third game being operator slop, they want to be fedora tippy now.
>>
>>65444008
I dont have a complaint, I just object to the notion that hunk was intentionally using older less practical equipment, since he's not using anything unusual for a well equipped swat team of the time period; as somebody who is old enough to remember the 90s.
>>
RE9 did a better job than previous games at having the guns have the right ammo. the only notable exceptions are both of Grace's hand guns are .380 but use the same ammo as Leon's which are 9mm, but the box says .355, which could be either. And there are 3 enemy guns that are only used as bonus mode guns that use the wrong ammo. a torus judge, MCX and machine pistol

>>65444020

The US is honestly getting like this now. I live in an area with an almost zero jeet/muzzie population and when I needed a cavity drilled a couple years ago like 75% of the dentists in my area had a jeet/muzzie name.

Billions must go
>>
>>65453028
I had a jeet pediatrician but that was before the current jeet issue. but you are right. H1Bs and Student Visas were explicitly invented by the head of the NSF under Reagan (bet you can't guess his early life) to lower American wages and make it so it wouldn't be worth it for Americans to become doctors or PHDs

Umbrella is a multi billion dollar corporation. If they went through all the effort of outfitting their guys with the latest, most cutting edge tactical gear they can get their hands on at the time (which was the case in the originals too), why would they skimp on an extra 400 dollars?
If anything, the unrealistic thing is them buying shitty tasco pro points when the Aimpoint comps are just starting to become commercially available

What should Yurope classify heat related deaths as then? You lack a basic global necessity and it leads to your old people dying. Only a fuckin' Euro could come in here and cope in a such a retarded way.

Why was the hospital staff armed with Beretta 1934s in .380 in 2026? I get the guy having one in 1990, but why arm them with that in current year?
Why did Grace's mom and Grace both use a sig 232 in 2018 and 2026. Seems like a weird choice for a CCW in 2026, you would think the FBI would have issued her a real gun.
Why the fuck did Victor bring Grace's handgun to the hospital and then randomly leave it on the bar?
Why did Victor have 2 offices? Why did Victor randomly have a Winchester 70 leaning up against the wall in one of his offices?
Why does the BSAA use a fucking Springfield M1A carbine out of all the .308 rifles they could possibly use?
The other shit made sense. Leon, Z and Gideon all had anti bio weapon handguns based on real handguns, I guess except for Gideon. Gideon's revolver is like taurus judge in .45-70, which I guess isn't that outlandish. The mossberg 500 must have been in the facility and the doctor that chunk was eating must have been using it. The Uzi was probably in that car since 1998 and it makes sense for a 1998 gun, might have been Umbrella related.
The only other thing that's weird is that Leon doesn't have any long guns in his car. It makes sense why he doesn't use a long gun before going to racoon city, he saw Victor and immediately jumped out of the car, though its weird he had the hatchet strapped to him while driving and then when he went to the hospital I guess he didn't want to walk in with a rifle on him since that would have looked weird, though again, the hatchet would have looked odd too. But it's weird he shows up in racoon city with just his 2 pistols and the shotgun and rifle he took from the hospital
>>
>>65466124
In Grace's case the gun's description specifically says it's not an issue gun, it's her personal gun that she bought herself.
>>
>>65461300
Hell yeah
>>
>>65466399
it's weird that she would have bought it in current year and it's weird victor brought it to the hospital and left it in the bar with the zombies. Like how did it get into the bar?
The only reason the P232 and Beretta 1938 are in the game is because the P232 is some nip cop gun and look like a PPK and the Beretta 1938 was a stand in for a 418 in Dr. No
>>

This is my scuffed as fuck police trade in 870 Police Magnum I put an extended tube on, wish it had the ribbed barrel though like yours.
>>
>>65467677
I actually had my ribbed barrel chopped from a 28" which had been fired with mud in it and had gotten a bulge around 24". Luckily the in game one turns out to be around 18.75" when cut flush with the magazine tube.

Yours is really nice too, I've never seen that extended tube type before.
>>
>>65469255
>>65467677

I know you don't care cause you're cloning a vidya gun. but of you have a rib you can get a mount to put like a sig romeo 5 or other red dot on the mount on the rib and makes the dot sit way lower than it would on top of the receiver. Also way farther forward which is also better

>>
>>65469482
>Well, they weren't zombies when he did so.
they were or they were something. you read a bunch of notes about them studying how the patients react. They mention both chunks, one of which eats human flesh, both singers, the guy who hates loud noises and the guy who hates the lights
>I think the better question is why does a chronic care hospital have a full ass bar, that was accessible to patients? How the fuck did Gideon explain that away to inspectors?
there are at least 3 wings, maybe 4. They said they were a rehab facility that did state of the art novel treatments. I'm assuming the wealthier patients came from like the area Grace starts out in or the area by the basement and those patients had access to the bar and dining room and then the poorer patients were kept in the prison cell like rooms on the east wing.
It's not a hospital, it's a sanatorium. You'd expect there would be recreational activities available to people staying at a chronic care center. They're not like treating gunshot wounds or broken bones. Sanatoriums, historically, were basically hotels for rich people with tuberculosis. Doc Holliday died in one

it really isn't cool. I'm pretty sure they only put it in there to be a bond reference with the sig. It's fine in the scene that takes place in 1990, but it's silly in 2026
>So is the PPK. It’s not that heavy. It’s 8oz lighter than a Makarov
a ppk is considerably heavier than modern polymer .380s
>You don’t have rifle in your office?
nope
>Or guns randomly in your house?
I do, but I don't have a durr rifle in my office. We know Gideon carries a .50 cal revolver comparable to the requiem. Like I wouldn't find it weird if he had an M1A in his office for protection incase there was a zombie outbreak. Though one of those gas tanks you find near his second office would have made more sense. But a bolt gun is weird, especially when it's not going to be any more effective than an M1A
