Dogfighting is a thing of the past!

I didnt know those drones could evade, I thought they worked off fixed flight plans.

They've had some ai-capabilities that has allowed them to avoid incoming interceptors for some time now. So Russia probably updated the software to include planes now as well
>>
>>65446500
they are not evading, they are programmed to circle around until more drones come, so they can attack at once and overwhelm the AA

Some can.
Some have a tail-cam that will tell the flight controller to juke around a bit, technically a Crazy-Ivan I guess. It's intended for dodging interceptor drones that usually approach quite slowly because they're closing a gap in a pursuit.

Some are also remote controlled, or can be in a pinch.
Others, like >>65447191 said, circle to regroup and often to get targets too because a Gerber arrives with a wifi connection and the swarm can be updated.
They can also fuck with AD by doing this to soak up MANPADs etc that would otherwise be used against the banderol/iskander-K cruise missiles coming in.

That's not tiresome, it's awsome.

A number of these Yaks have been lost, I really think a decent auto-turret should be possible since there's no collateral damage to worry about, just arm the turret and let it work, then safety it and move to the next target, you could put them on pylons instead of the body to simplify the conversion.

Why would that be tiresome? I want to see some new superprops.

Yes, the gunner hit the warhead, instead of the body, and it turned out to be one of the frag ones, so the plane and crew got shrapneled. I haven't seen any mention of Yaks shot down by drone-launched R-60s, though it's likely the Ukrainians aren't releasing figures because they want to keep Russians guessing.

They need to give the gunner a mini-gun.
