The Russian army has received a laser infantry weapon with a portable power source.
Additional Video:
https://files.catbox.moe/23ziye.mp4

The Russian Armed Forces has received multiple samples of the new laser weapon, which is powered by a compact power source that fits in a backpack. The weapon operates silently and is capable of precisely burning through targets. It can be controlled both manually and remotely.

Similar lasers are being mounted on certain models of ground-based unmanned platforms. These robots can approach a target at a safe distance and destroy it with a laser beam.

According to available information, these are finished products that have already entered production.

Is this a game changer in Ukraine?

Assuming its for drones, the problem has never having been weapons capable of taking them down, its reliably tracking the moving target. So sure this will probably work, but it relies on the same reaction times and latency of the guy or gimbal carrying a shotgun from 100 years ago.

Only viable uses for this are installation on unmanned platforms and remote mine clearance. Running around like you're playing laser tag with that Xbox hueg battery pack on your back would get you killed quick.

It'll get picked up by Western media soon I am sure.

It's not for drones, it's for infantry combat and also being installed on robotic platforms for mine clearance. It could likely be used on drones as well.

Yeah that's completely useless.
Pure "russia is so big we even have scifi weapons" propaganda video.

Remember, ukies had developed much more powerful vehicle-mounted anti-drone lasers years ago and even those haven't accomplished any shifts towards more DEWs.

The display for the battery levels instantly dropped 1 bar as soon as he turned it on along with dropping another bar the moment he pulled the trigger. So the question of battery life is very suspect once you intially press the trigger. I'm sure there *was* an R&D and they didn't just buy it from Alibaba and placed an "ANALOGOVNET" nametag on it, like >>65449913 shows.
I'm sure assaultniks are going to receive enough training to operate that thing.

>>65451677
It set the laptop on fire.
>>
>>65451683
You see how the flame follows exactly where the laser is pointed at and doesn't really last? T
he plastic surface gets instantly heated up and burns, that's cool, but the rest of the object is not heated enough so it extinquishes the flame as soon as the source of heat is gone and the exact part that was heated burns off instantly without having time to transfer enough heat to the rest of the object to cause a fire, you have to maintain the laser pointed at the exact same point for a couple seconds at least to cause deep damage to anything.
He had to keep holding that for seconds to start a very small flame that you could put out with some taps.
Now imagine any real combat situation, you don't get clear shots that last for seconds very often and a gun would have cause far more damage with 1 bullet that connected.
