I bought both the stock adapters and the handguard because I cannot STAND how fucking ugly the gun is. With both, it's a thing of beauty.

>One of these two guns can shoot sub-1 MOA, and the other can't.
>One of these guns, depending on when it was made, will crack your optics.
>One of these two guns cost $1600 on a bad day with the aftermarket parts and the other costs 4 grand.
>They are both battle rifles.
>They were both made by the same company.

Call me a poorfag for not paying the FDE tax, but I'd rather put the money into a hilariously good optic and other toys, and then blow the rest on ammo.

Europe (or at least the jurisdictions where demilled machine guns are restricted) is niggerhell for G3's right now. The most basic models from Schwaben and Niedermeier cost over 3k€ and the quote for shipping them starts at 400€. Luxdeftec seems to have given up on G3's entirely and is focusing on dime a dozen sloppa AR's.

So no wonder I gave up and ordered a PTR instead, which even with VAT and shipping nearly doubling the price is below the base cost of a new production Euro-G3. Lesson of the story being I should have bought an FMP for less than a grand before the directive began to be implemented.

How well/poorly do AR-10s compare to bolt action 308 rifles when it comes to accuracy?

I'm getting a hunting license and I saw that AR-10 rifles are eligible to own with a hunting license.

Man it's been a second since I've had Indian food. For all my negative feelings towards the continent they do have some banger dishes. Bipods have been on my mind as of late too since I've been thinking about getting either a Bosnian wide handguard (because fuck the current going rate for a normal wide handguard) with a bipod or a more modern mlok forend with a bipod for my shitrod. I've been thinking a lot about POI shift and ventilation for the barrel since I really want to get an FRT for it and rip a little 308
>>
>>65485506
Yeah same, a solid 2 or 3 years at least for me. The people at the restaurant were very kind. The benefit of getting a bipod on a wide handguard, or a more modern bipod on a railed handguard is that it shouldn't shift your POI at all. The FALO's bipod being basically at the moment arm of the barrel really messes thing sup.

>Boss has been loosing chickens and his Tom has a bad cut on his chest from fighting something in the coop.
>One neighbor catches on security cam a juvinile black bear getting into their coop and killing 10 birds a frenzy.
>Another neighbor lost another 10 from this bear.
>Offer to crash in his 5th wheel that is close to the chicken coop and wait for the bear.
>Must have spooked it when I was pulling up as the dogs were going nuts and they know my car. Didn't think much of it as I got my Jakl-10 loaded, turned on the scope illumination, and set the SMS to vis light n laser.
>Settling in, not 5 minutes since I got there, I hear birds going nuts.
>Toss on ear muffs and run out on a mound between the trailer and coop.
>Turn on the white light/green laser, see the right side of the bear. Fire first round just behind the shoulder.
>Bear turns 180 and runs, gets about 50 feet before give up on moving and using the scope and just put the laser high on its shoulder and pop off 4 more m80 as it travels another 75 feet before stumbling and dropping the chicken it managed to grab.
>Bear changes direction a bit, I stop and get back on the scope as I watch it fail to turn and rolls onto its side.
>Walk up, put the green dot high on its face and drill 2 more into it.
>Then my boss and his wife start shouting, having also heard the noise and him with a .300 win mag on the raised deck.
>Boss and his wife come down, we check the damage to the coop and find the bird it dropped.
>Boss's wife is texting all the neighbors that the damn bear is dead. Probably had 3 or 4 other people armed waiting for that bear.
Got to kill a habituated bear legally and got to sleep in my own bed at a decent time.

I wish, had to leave it for DOW. This was one of 3 or 4 adolescents that momma dropped off in the area when she was naturally done with them. DOW has been trying to capture and euthanize them for a bit as they all been in trash cans.and have killed at least one alpaca plus the birds. The one I shot was essentially a deer returning to an automatic corn feeder night after night. He was just there early compared to his previous 3:30am visit the night before. My boss called it in the next morning and claimed responsibility in case of some bullshit. Wish he had said it was me so I could have been there when the cute 25 year old female DOW agent showed and winched the carcass into her truck.
She told him that he saved the state some time and money.

Nothing less than 308 for an ethical kill
>>
>>65485840
Yeah, this was probably the only I will ever have on a bear. My state has had a bunch of black bear attacks recently. To be honest, that was a huge reason why I used a semi auto .308 and popped off 7 shots of m80.
Also Tom faught like a damn warrior, my favorite hen was at risk, and he had killed at least 4 named birds.
Love the Jakl-10 btw. It shoots so damn soft and it settles smoothly. The recoil is very similar to my 10/63 but feels like a longer travel of a heavier BCG at a slower speed.

Depends on species. Hericiums despite their appearance are very easy to fell with even a 22. However something like a psilocybin requires you to engage at extended ranges as to not accidentally get hurt by it. And ganodermas like reishis need some extra punch to deal with the hard fruiting body. I'd recommend 308 as a general rule of thumb

is this too fucked up to complete? I started this years ago and i got all sad and it ended up sitting in a drawer since today. It had grease on it from when I was working on it so it doesnt seem "pitted". Im at the stage where I need to sand blast all the parts so I can parkerize everything. I dont have any of that stuff, I was thinking I could get a tabletop blasting cabinet and take it into work and use their air compressor.

I'll definitely take pictures of the ammo I get and show. Allegedly it's a mixed lot using CCI and Federal primers. Both are good but I'm more concerned about the casings getting shredded on extraction due to the obvious two piece construction of .277 Fury.
At the very least the SCAR isn't as awful to casings as the G3 is. We'll see.

There any .308 guns that are particularly nice while suppressed? Getting a 30 cal can soon so I might dip my toes into big boy calibers
>>
>>65498790
In terms of cold war battle rifles? FAL is probably our best bet. M14 derivatives and G3 derivatives are tricky to suppress. Otherwise a SCAR or AR-10 is your best bet.
>>
>>65498776
We shall see how they perform when they arrive. Also I slightly goofed and got the 147gr ones, oh well.
They haven't shipped yet lol
>>
>>65498807
>G3 derivatives are tricky to suppress

Lol no, not in the age of flow through suppressors they aren’t, new locking piece and you’re good to go.
>>
>>65498838
People on another site say ship time is typically a couple weeks. They also claim the joint in the cartridge where the metals meet creates a gouge or bump or something in the chamber but I don't know what the mechanism for that would be.
>>
>>65499928
Blow by where it meets that seam perhaps? I've seen that issue crop up with people that were reloading and necking up to .308 spec on ARF
Looks like that chamber gouging only became an issue after a few cases worth through the same gun.
>>
IT'S HAPPENING!!!!
>>
>>65493382
Am I missing something why don't they state the velocity?
>>
>>65500018
I don't think gas could leak through or the dual metal cases wouldn't work at all. I'm guessing a wear differential between steel and brass makes a little "step" in the chamber at the point where the steel ends and brass begins.

>>65500924

What's a good price for a DSA or similarly molested FAL with a railed dust cover these days?
>>
>>65498807
FAL is kinda dookie to suppress only because of the barrel thread pitch. DSA's modernized lineup uses 5/8x24. but the traditional thread pitch has few options outside of Keymo.
>>65501471
You can buy one of their chrome-lined FALs for about $1800-2000 and the railed top cover for about $110-125 direct from DSA.

Some people have the mindset tbat they can pay more and get better for the SAME EXACT THING. Their mental gymnastics tell them
>better service
>more legitimate
>legacy
Yet, SAME EXACT THING. Example: $5800 rifle, $6250 rifle. Well, obviously the more expensive rifle is better.
>um, he has the experience, legacy, legitimacy and support I will need and that's worth extra...
>>
>>65501906
I have a bunch of Super Duties and geissele products in general. I like them a lot. I would even pay a premium for their 308. But there is no chance in hell I would pay $2k more for a geissele 308 than what I payed for my Scar. That genuinely is mind boggling to me.
