i have an arisaka with the seal still on it. bought it from a random guy and the story goes that his gramps fought in the pacific, killed a jap and took his rifle back home. gave me the paperwork that his gramps filed to take it back home and has his id card or some shit in it, its a little white paper with a red circle in the middle with japanese letters above and below it. the guy told me that it has wood knocked off of the foreend because when his gramps killed him he shot it off during the process but im incredulous about that.

You can still find them for sale. I used to have a WW2 collection back when rifles were $100 - $200. I was living paycheck to paycheck. I told all my WW2 weapons or else I'd never be able to buy other guns. I mis it like crazy but I was about to get around 1000$ per rifle. Ironically all matching rifles and pistols are still around the same price they always were. My biggest regret was not buying a PSL when they were 450$ with a scope. I fucking hate myself. Even though it's cheap. Doesn't have a good zero. And overheats. It's just one of those shotgun style fun guns with a big scope and sniper vibe. My Grandpa was a carpenter in the 1950s-1960s and a locksmith until he retired in the 1980s and probably had an amazing set of tools and yet they're all gone except for his carpenter's hammer at my parents house. The man literally had a workshop capable of building a house in the 1960s in his basement and I never came to appreciate it until I'm renting an apartment that is 40% of my income.

One pistol disappeared somewhere over the years, one was lost in a house fire... and I have the third. I also inherited my dad's K98. after WW2 the Belgians at FN got ahold of it, rechambered in .308, and sent it to Israel. Still has a number of Nazi markings on it.
