>>65457541Funny, I was thinking this exact build. Either MDT Field or Oryx chassis. I'd prefer 20" barrel so a suppressor wouldn't make it long as fuck but 20" is only available in the superlite version. I was already thinking some Vortex optic since they're pretty good for the price.

I like(d?) my 8x monocular but it disappeared and I'm not sure if I lost it innawoods or some time in between getting in the car and at home so I'm hoping it just appears when cleaning some day. It seemed strong and clear but I never owned a Vortex scope. If they have a reasonably priced option in the right zoom and reticle I might just get one by the end of the year (and another monocular GFDI). I just want to know if it's well made, groups worth a shit, and won't get sad if it gets bumped around innawooods a bunch. Not thrilled about it being import (I know, "anon even Leupold has imported parts" probably) but it'd be nice. I need to get a Vortex eventually anyways since I want a small LPVO-ish for an upcoming (not /prg/) gun later this year. Just can't justify what I imagine Leupold would want lol.

>>65457595It's been a while since I shot mine (it's hot as fugg in the southeast), but IIRC on the 5-25, you start getting some notable loss in contrast and some red/pink aberration around 20x power. I wonder if the 7-35 would experience the same around 20x or if you're clearer out towards maybe 30x? Either way IMO the EP-5 is still the absolute best bang for your buck scope you can get for long range.
What’s the furthest I can shoot with my 7mm-08 Rem? The farthest deer I’ve shot and killed was I believe around 2-300 yards.

She's easy sub-MOA usually averaging around 0.75-0.9 with decent ammo. She is heavy, though, but that's by design. A heavier rifle is a better shooting rifle for accuracy. I think she's tipping towards 15-16lbs when loaded.
