The one positive I will say is that the PVD finish on the legion models smells godly out of the box

It's been my experience that the premium models really are premium. Especially anything they made after the 320 fiasco where they realized they had to up the quality again.
>>
>>65460291
I want to clarify, now that I think on it. My experience has been pretty limited to when I can borrow it from friends at the range, but it's a very nice duty or carry gun. It does not feel like a race gun: it has a heavy feel and it's sprung like you would expect a duty gun to be.
>>
>>65460292
I mean, I have a 226 Legion SAO from when before they put optics cuts on them, it's not a bad pistol, but as far as SAO triggers go, it has a spongy takeup and unimpressive reset compared to my langdons or my shadow 2 compact. smelled fucking great though, like new car with notes of two-stroke exhaust
I don't remember what I paid for it circa 2017/18 but it doesn't hold up to the other high-end pistols I have around that price bracket
it's not lilke they're going to have a separate supply chain for the legion series, it's basically a facelifted standard 226 with a trigger guard cut, PVD finish, gayguns trigger kit, and "muh 300 spartans" medallion grips. AFAIK the extractor, sear, and some other small parts are still potmetal MIM

if you're really going to commit sudoku if you don't own a 226 either get a WG/short extractor one or just get a MK25 for both the internals and aesthetics, since 226's look goofy with optics anyway

I have plenty of complaints. But tl;dr it works, it's just cruder

First, all the edges are sharp. Like straight off the machine sharp. I thought I cut myself twice but it didn't break skin.

The clamp screws are too short, so are the threaded holes for them. This means you are physically limited on slides you can put in it. I did a P226 which is fairly tall but I had to take the clamp off to get the slide in, there was less than 1/4" of engagement on the screws
>>
>>65460343
>NTA but I'm surprised you're not immediately shitting on sig
I dislike cohen-sig for what they've done to the reputation of the 226 because it's by far one of the most comfy pistols I've shot, grip dimension-wise
>Does the SRT work for the SAO models?
the SAO models come from the factory with the GG SRT kit and a GG flatface trigger. I don't really feel like dropping $150 to see if a *different* SRT kit makes it better
I would say I'm going to sell it soon, but I have a sentimental attachment to that pistol because it was the first pistol over $300 that wasn't a shitty police trade-in or weird .40 abortion that I bought myself
>>65460345
yeah I get the impression that product QC has gone up since the P320 fiasco and like Beretta is trying (and IMO failing) to do, they're also interested in capturing the increasing market sector associated with new competition shooters with fat budgets and interest in well-fitted and trimmed fullsize guns
I'm still distrustful of nu-sig because all 226 models still use SKU 1201010-R for their extractor, which is still a MIM part made in india.

>I just want another steel frame heavy range toy

Does the slop matter? No but also yes.

You can get the job done, but you must be more cautious than normal. If the guide rod isn't pressed to the top of its oversized holes when you tighten the set screws on the side, the pusher will be low enough to scrape your slide down to bare metal. This is physically impossible with the US made one

It works, for $30 it's fine, and it's a damn sight more robust than anything else under probably $80. I would not want to pay $45+ for it though, that's almost what the US made ones cost

Oh also forgot to mention the included key is much shorter than the original so you can't get as much torque on it without a cheater bar or using your own quality (metric) wrench. The Sig was pretty tight for irons but not S&W tight. S&W might be scary with the chiner pusher

I had no idea, and I doubt the regular srt kit will make a difference. Should have gone with the MK25. I'm not a fan of SAO versions of DA/SA guns, btw. I think they're money grabbing flubs. They're usually kind of crappy in one respect or another. Get a (19/20)11 or a striker if you want a consistent pull.

>>
>>65460599
it depends
I have an osprey, do not have an obsidian
pros: the osprey sounds absolutely delightful when shot wet and works fine dry. you can modify most kydex holsters to fit it by heatgunning them and shoving your osprey inside like it's prom night and you have to be home in 30 minutes
cons: I used the osprey at a match and out of four stages, three of them produced some kind of problem with the timing locking mechanism unlatching and completely fucking up my point of impact and also making me incredibly paranoid of a baffle strike. Was it because the match started with every part of the pistol dunked in water? I have no idea, but it was irritating as shit
I'd assume the obsidian wouldn't have that problem and the most you'd have to worry about is it backing off

Hi, gun newb anon here looking for opinions again. Last I was here someone pointed me towards the Ruger LCR .38 special for a easy carry self defense gun. I'm looking for any insight on self defense carry guns in general within the ballpark of $400-$600. It'll be my first gun, I will want to actually practice with it so ammo cost is something I'm also concerned about but less so than functionality and "stopping power." I live in a state where it's legal to conceal carry without permit so that's not a problem.
Really any input, advice, etc is appreciated.

Just barely yes

Go on ebay search "sight pusher" sort by lowest price and find the cheapest one of that exact design

If you get one use tape to protect your gun, and loosen a guide rod screw, make sure the guide rod is pushed upwards, then tighten the screw again

Also the sight being centered does not make the gun zeroed, if the gun is shooting to point of aim then don't "correct" the rear sight

So I got a set of g10 grips for my RM380 from Century Arms, didn't realize they were VZ grips till they came in. Decided to break out the old jug of green rit dye and personalize them. I like the way they came out.

It always amazes me that the parent design of this pistol was built for 9mm, the magazine is even sized for it with a spacer added in so you can only fit 380. I kinda wonder, if Freedom Group didn't sodomize everything they touched, if they could have come out with a 9mm version themselves. There's something nice and basic about the hammer fired DOA. Kinda hard to find a metal framed pistol that fills the same sweet spot this one did.
>>
As a gun noob who decided to carry after a confrontation with a motorcycle gang meth guy that almost resulted in me getting my ass kicked, I scoured the internet, including here.
The general consensus that I found was the Glock 19. I bought one, enjoyed it, got decent with it but now I'm upset because I realized the "Goldilocks gun" is just useless. It's too big to conceal on an ottermode Chad like myself (6'1 and 155 pounds, cut) in standard "jeans and tee shirt" mode because the grip is still fucking long.
It's not powerful and badass enough to be a "house gun".
It's fun to shoot, I enjoy it, but in retrospect I wish I had bought something smaller like the 26. The fucking handle always pokes out because I am in shape and wear 32 inch pants.
>>
>>65460819
Just print. No one is going to notice or care.

That's the sacrifice you make when you EDC; you need to dress around the gun. Buy a pair of jeans a size up and wear a belt to help conceal the gun.

You're too inexperienced to have opinions yet. There are pros and cons to everything. You get a smaller, easier to conceal gun, you lose some of the shootability and the inverse is true as well - have a larger gun, it is more difficult to conceal effectively. But as the other anons said, dress properly, get a good belt and holster, and stop worrying about printing because the majority of people even those who carry won't fucking notice.
And you're not an "ottermode chad" you're an underdeveloped post adolescent. Go lift weights and eat something you fucking twink.

I carry a Glock 42 with a +2 magazine extension, and I think it's absolutely amazing for the purpose. It's light enough and small enough to be easy to carry, but still fun to shoot, so you'll actually want to practice with it. Gun.deals lists them around $400. Get a box of good defensive ammo and a can of the cheapest ball ammo you can find. It'll cost a little more than 9mm, but if you want cheap practice, get a 22 next.

Unless you're decrepit or otherwise handicapped, don't get .380. Stick with 9x19. Just get a Glock 19
>>
>>65460632
You need to budget for 2 eventually. I would start out with something like a g19. Doesn't have to be a Glock, but you should learn on something that isn't snappy like a micro 9mm or air weight 38. Once you get a feel for how the 19 carries, then you can figure out what small guns fits. P32 is hard to beat.
>>
>>65460819
One gun solution never works. I also detest the compact gun.

Get a 26 and a 17, sell your 19. Then get a 380 or 32 for mouse gun mode. J frame in 32 is my favorite, g42 and bodyguard 2.0 also work very well.
>>
>>65461105
G42 is very good. I got a hellcat in 380 and it blows the g42 out of the water. I still like my g42, but the HC is much easier to get ahold of if you have man sized hands.
