Thoughts about the Rafale?
>>65462467get better bait
>>65462467more like DADT fighter
>>65462467Im not a rafale defender or anything, but the jeets can’t be trusted to operate a fighter. They didn’t have a plan or AWACS support.
>>65463463Ya it made me realized thirdies are better off using low-tier weapon systems. It's one of the reasons why South Vietnam got dumpstered in the Vietnam war, the North was able to make good use out of the Soviet junks which fits their condition while the South was trying to fight war like Americans, despite being thirdies.
>>65462467An excellent 4th-gen fighter, but at its price tag any developed nation would be better off getting the F-35. No point in getting an expensive 4th-gen for thirdies either since what's more needed is a competent missile truck to link up with AWACS or other radar systems.

>>65463493The Rafale, is fully the equal of the F-35, Su-57 and J-20 as a fifth generation fighter. Like the KF-21, it is a 4.5 gen with development potential to be further upgraded to fifth gen. That is why many countries, such as India, Indonesia, Qatar and the UAE which have requested F-35s or were looking at other fifth gen options like the Su-75 and KF-21, are now Rafale users. The Eurofag Typhoon meanwhile remains a 4-4.5 generation aircraft with no further development potential, and the countries who are using it primarily (UK, Italy, Spain etc) are all F-35 users and have no incentive to develop it further. If the Rafale was made by a non-NATO country, they would call it 5th gen.
>>65462467not that often
>>65462467I believe it's one of worlds best fighters because french engineering is very competent when it matters and this is pride of pride of France we are talking about. Thanks to streetshitters, he was been turned into mocking bird even tho everyone knows its a good plane. Frenchies probably either thought it would never be used in combat or overestimated streetshitter pilots

>>65463463More like fighters don't really matter anymore, they're only there to carry radars and missiles to the frontline. You could put modern radar, and A2A missiles on a Mig-23 and shoot down F15s carrying 80s equipment no sweat.
