Bello I just got my gun license (Illinois sorry). I’ve always been interesting in owning n shooting guns. Anyone know any got any advice for newbies, as far as good things to read or people to watch? Also maybe good first time guns? I’d like a revolver and see what would be fun from there. I like stuff with wood finishes cause I’m gay. Tnx plz be nice

It's useful for varmints if you ever manage a large property or hunt small game, it's fun to shoot., the operation and cleaning is pretty intuitive, and .22LR is cheap. Plus it's easy to suppress and is very quiet if you ever get a stamp. We learned on them when I was a boyscout, they're basically the standard for beginners.

>>65465802Lever action as a first buy is not crazy. But keep in mind ammunition costs. Avoid Henry, or if you do buy Henry inspect it like you would a used firearm. Check the bore, check the trigger, shake it and make sure nothing is rattling, make sure the sights aren't loose, etc.A good lever action in 22lr is more fun than should be legal.A good lever action in .357 magnum is enough gun to take down medium sized game and more than enough gun to deal with two legged varmints. You can also run .38 special in it for less expensive shooting. If you're op then you can get that revolver you want in .357 and then you only need to worry about buying one caliber of ammo for both guns.If you end up expanding your hobby into reloading, I hear straight wall cartridges like .38 and .357 are the easiest to start with.
