What are some lifetime guns? Ones that even with regular use will outlast you? All i can think of is>USP>some basic bitch pump action or single shot 12 gauge>maybe something like a GP100 or pre enshittification 686Bonus points if not only would they last a lifetime but also look cool as shit

>>65465259Any modern boltie. 1911s. Blackpowder. Quality break actions. Henrys. Ruger No 1s.
>>65465259A good AR-15 will last 10s of thousands of rounds before the barrel needs to be replaced. Rings on the bolt are probably the first thing to start to go bad in around $3k rounds.
>>65465259An AR with reasonable quality like an LE6920. Also funnily enough the USP is one of the guns I've owned the longest

probably better to just buy 2-3 examples of a gun you like instead of hoping that the one never gets dropped into a ravine or has undetectable molecular defects

Literally anything that isn't shit. Just because you're extractor broke doesn't mean the gun died. You need some catastrophic shit like a squib to end most guns, otherwise just replace worn out parts if your IQ is at least 100.
>>65465259I have a 1918 Luger that was civilian owned it's whole existence. I still shoot it once a year. So pretty much anything as long as you take care of it
>>65465259Most guns will as long as you keep up on your spring changes. Most frames will last to a mid 5 digit round count which is more than most people shoot in a lifetime.>pre enshittification 686I really don't think mildly worse qc is going to make any difference here, only question is how many hot 125s you shoot for either the GP100 or 686 or really any .357 you shoot.
>>65465262In my experience, no. Have one of the used gendarmerie imports. Had to replace a few parts, which was expensive and a nightmare finding the correct one, since there are multiple generations with slight changes to the parts. The cylinder is peened on the notches and will skip a chamber if rapid fired. Had it probably gone through a lot? Sure. But I've got a decent revolver collection, and they aren't necessarily as indestructible as people think. Having to replace parts on revolvers isn't a rare occurrence. The parts being obtainable is a major factor in keeping a gun going through service life of the frame.
