Their SIGINT was quite good. Before Barbarossa their recon planes invaded Soviet airspace 1000 km deep and mapped Soviet military force good. It reflected in how Barbarossa went. When they operate with objective real world photo recon data as basis for planing it all went as planned. They completely destroyed Soviet deployed military forces they mapped with small own casualties.
But regarding strategic info this air recon couldn't deliver: Soveit reserves depth or existence of the KV tank, yes here their military machine started to stumble.
