Why aren't fixed wing drones shaped like strategic bombers? The R&D on the shape and aerodynamics has already been done
>>65466605Because fixed wing drones are smaller than strategic bombers, slower than strategic bombers, and fly lower than strategic bombers, meaning that the airflow over every important surface is slower and thicker. The shape is different because the aerodynamics are different.
>>65466605Because airframe effectiveness differs with both size and speed, smaller airframes are often slower and the sizes require larger wing surfaces for efficient flying. Not to mention smaller sizes mean less room for fuel and weapons, meaning a more 'fat' bulky airframe has the advantage. >>65466621also this, lower altitudes = different aerodynamics,
>>65466605Weird how Chinese civilians are allowed to do this.Every US-based drone channel and forum I've read, they said that recreationally dropping shit from your drone intentionally is one of the quickest ways to get v&'d and ending up with a terror charge
A lot of these drones are SSL or glide, they fly at a very, very low air speed and weight virtually nothing.Due to their size and profile they can be hard to pick up on radar, and their range means they can circumvent AA positions by flying around them, and flying very low to the ground. They can't evade shit.
