https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAb-1e3X4TASome dude just posted a lengthy compilation of GWOT footage set to discount TOOL. Grab what you want before someone reports it for showing half a frame of somebody's emptied skull or something.
>>65469166So does this prove that 5.56 is the perfect DMR round?
>>654692215.56 is THE perfect round
>>65469226/thread
>>65469221>>65469226its a very good round as evidenced by how you can push it out to range with the right platform and still maintain acceptable accuracy and lethality, but it is still primarily an ad hoc solution.
>>65469221wut
>>65469166Jhtf do I download and save this vid?
>>65469166Need footage of the Roy rescue.Notably nobody got bagged during so I doubt it will be reported.

>>65469166Damn, these vintage CQB training clips blow the fuck out of the usual instagram range theatrics slop
I'll try to see if web archive saves it.
>>65469428>It may take a few days for YouTube videos to become available for playback.Okay it worked, but got that message. You guys need to adopt an archivist mindset for things.
>>65469433>You guys need to adopt an archivist mindset for things. So download and make torrent of it
>>65469221>>65469226careful, don't say this around m26_lemon_grenade!
>>65469649Oh do that too. Only thing is that now we have the rise of AI, it also helps to have firm backups and archives that have a definitive source and background.
>>65469166This is really surprising, normally this early 2000s cag shit is drip fed on instagram alongside book deals and podcast appearances. Very unusual for an entire hostage rescue to be released from feet hitting the ground right to pickup, even if it is old.
>>65469166This is really great stuff. I don’t think almost any of this has been posted anywhere before, I’d love to know where this guy got it all. Especially some of the SOF footage seems to be extremely rare and high-quality, both training and in the field. It looks like that channel has some other good footage as well, including some full-length documentary videos. I’ll spend a while looking through it all if it’s half as good as this video. Thanks for posting this, this is the kind of thing I still keep coming back to this board for, proper /k/ommando shit.
>>65469363>yt-dlpcan someone just make a webm with sound and post it on /gif/ of something I can learn every IT tick to watch a vid. help a tard out will ya
>>65472062If you have Android:1. download f-droid2. in f-droid download the Newpipe app3. use Newpipe to download videos in your chosen video qualityIf you have iphone:1. Be a consumerist loser who cannot do anything in their phone but be tracked
>>65472062compressing the video into 4chan's filesize limit would rape the quality. its a bit of fiddling to set up if you've never used command line before but it's legit one of the most useful tools to have, you can save shit (including audio) from tons of sites with it. just download the windows exe and run it with powershell
>>65472062Just look up youtube downloader and paste the link into it, you fucking idiot
>>654720621. download and install yt-dlp2. open powershell3. type "cd downloads"4. type "yt-dlp (video URL here, no parenthesis)"5. Wait6. The video will be downloaded to your "Downloads" drive
>>65469166what was that youtube mirror site? As in it had all the youtube videos but with a direct link to to download them?
>>65469166buy an adfirst 3 minutes is promo video of delta force that has been around for 20 years, couldn't be bothered watching the rest
>>65472503>thinks its an ad>better bump itwow thanks dude
>>65472428assuming you mean invidious, here's some instances; I can't guarantee they'll give all options or the same quality as with ytdl but at least some will have download optionshttps://redirect.invidious.io/
>>65469166The first 5 minutes are the Delta Force training video that got leaked onto early youtube. They switched out the rock music for generic score.
>>65469319https://app.ytdown.to/en38/
>>65472503>>65474629Watch the rest, there’s good stuff in there.
>>65472062download yt-dlp and get the node javascript runtimerun the commandyt-dlp --js-runtime node [link]if it's age restricted and won't let you download, you can include--cookies-from-browser [browser] if you're logged into youtube on that browser and it will download.
>>65469667Man, that guy deleted all of his videos. Some of them were super useful. I should have downloaded them.
>>65472503This… the first part was a delta recruitment video. Used to be set to Motley Crue and AC/DC. I scrubbed through the rest and didn’t see anything new. I don’t know if the whole video is exclusively delta/cag/ace, but everything I saw was. So nothing new, all delta, but higher resolution than I’ve seen before on some.
>>65474708I take it back, the static line stuff isn’t delta and already see some old seal team 3 GWOT footage. Still nothing new.
>>65474629>>65474708Ive never seen this stuff before, so while I'm sure you're right that this was around 20 years ago; its kind of a meaningless critique if its been scrubbed for the last decade. With sites like liveleak and militaryphotos being gone, a lot of gwot footage that may have been mainstream back in the day just doesn't exist anymore.
>>65474728You can go to YouTube and search “delta force recruitment video” and it the first result with the original AC/DC and Motley Crue. Same for the other ones. Just have to know what to search for. I saw SEAL Team 3 video in there, you can search for that one. Same with the Delta hostage rescue videos. It’s a cool video, but nothing new, nothing scrubbed. Good resolution too. The music sucks.
>>65474728Oh hey, I just replied to you a second ago. I missed the military photos reference. I used to like that site too. They said copyright claims was what killed it, shame.
>>65474728Hey, search “we care a lot 160th version” on YouTube. Some overlapping delta hostage rescue video in there maybe? Not sure, but if you like the 160th SOAR… they’re gonna make you sign in.
>>65474771I’m pretty sure the field videos are longer cuts in this upload, the Roy Hallums rescue was definitely a longer cut than the last time I saw it at least. I admit it’s possible the longer version was already available and I just hadn’t seen it, but it’s something. Most of the new footage seems to be just the “boring” parts, like moving to the target and waiting for exfil, but it’s still very cool to have it available in good quality.
>>65476890I got the chance to watch the whole thing. I agree that was a longer cut than I had seen before also. I had just seen this footage of them pulling the guy out the basement dungeon on some YouTube channel where they were talking about it, but can’t remember where. The interlaced video footage at the very end is what I thought was seal team 3 in Ramadi, but not sure now and don’t know why they’d throw that in. The one thing I did notice from watching the whole thing, was I think I saw drone I haven’t seen before go through the frame when one of the guys is walking down the path to the target. Looked like some kind of single rotor thing with cylinder in the middle. Like a flying Dyson fan? Anyway, I was wrong, this has some new footage. New to me anyway.
>>65472062>can someone just turn this 40 MiNUTE VIDEO into webms?Good Lord, anon.
The room clearing clips in the beginning are kinda chaotic. Sprinting into the room, 1st guy several steps in the room without the 2nd guy even in the doorframe, guys coming in with their gun down, people crossing their feet. Kinda interesting to see the evolution in technique to nowadays

>>65469833>>65471189>>65476890This is Jamie Caldwell's helmet cam footage, you can DM him on instagram or send him an email right now and ask him anything you want he runs a small night vision training company and has appeared on a few minor veteran podcasts and some other livestreams like more recently with Matt Pranka.
>>65469667>>65474697Came out as a jew, like, casually in a video this year. Might have gotten hate and ran off tail tucked. Stopped watching as soon as he said it so I don't know. S to spit.

>>65469166As I vet I can't watch this without getting pissed the fuck off, fucking Muslims deserve nothing but extermination.>Germany >WW2>oh fuck we lost>wut do>keep resisting further destroying Germany >or>surrender, rebuild, and become one of the most prosperous and safe countries on earthThe Iraqis kept fighting for a dictator that slaughtered more of their own people through war and sheer incompetence and then ISIS showed up. Fuck the Iraqis, they deserved everything that happened to them.
>>65492495Do you seriously think we were fighting the Iraqi army for 20 years? The Saddams army was defeated in 3 months, the fedayeen was dissolved at the same time and the militias fought after that like the maadi army didn't give a single fuck about Saddam. ISIS was created in the wake of baathists being excluded from any kind of military or government role, all of their leadership were Iraqi ex-army or intelligence; so in that sense it was a direct result of coalition policies.
>>65492627>asks if anon believes that we fought the Iraqi army for 20 years>proceeds to show how we fought the Iraqi army for 20 yearsWhat did he mean by this?
>>65492495>The Iraqis kept fighting for a dictator that slaughtered more of their own people through war and sheer incompetence and then ISIS showed up. Fuck the Iraqis, they deserved everything that happened to them.Different factions, ideologies, and religion, sadly. Germany and Japan were well developed, so yes the buildings were burned, but people were educated and had technical knowledge and administrative knowledge. Saddam and the idiot before him ruined the country and let it stagnate, where all the power was at the top. And this was right after the upswing in Jihadism, which is only now starting to dissipate. Jihad Joes play into young male power fantasies (you can become a real life pirate more or less), and they sell a romantic vision with a lot of religious nationalism. Shiite and Sunni are the Catholics vs. Protestants, and that is a wound that has no healed.Europeans needed the 30 years war, 6 million dead, for them to finally say it's not worth it, and then things cooled off over several centuries. Middle East never had that lesson.
>>65469412I did my CQD training at Dieters (where they do Phase 2 BUDS) in 2006 which was absolute peak GWOT aesthetics. >>65469221Anyone who could get their hands on a 7.62 dropped their 5.56 "DMR" like a hot potato. 5.56 does very well from 0-300 (400 under perfect conditions) and after that it's a shit sandwich, no matter what special sauce ammo you use. The Mk12 was a stopgap measure that became popular on the civilian market because of vet worship and SEAL pop culture shills.

>>65498091No, that's counter-intuitive. It's way more obvious to care about your friends, family, and close knit group that you call a tribe, or your co-religionists, or your ethnic group. Not giving a shit about these or putting them to the sideline is counter-intuitive, and requires IQs at 100 or more. 70 IQ populations will be led around the nose with nationality and religion forever and you can't fix that until you improve the eudcation system. But you need to improve the economy for that. And the authoritarian leaders do not want an educated public. And they steal everything instead. So it's all catch 22 for developing countries.
>>65469221Yeah
