Lurking fa/tg/uy developing an interest in the period and frankly I'm more likely to get a good answer here than /tg or (god forbid) /his. There's a tendency in games to make a distinction between the Union in the Eastern and Western theatres. Generally an Eastern force has slightly more guns, Western more cavalry. The Confederacy has no such (artificial?) split. Is there any basis to this? Or simply 'fuddlore'? If so, why did the Confederacy not exhibit a similar difference?
