Do you guys like the 5.45 or is 7.62 superior? 5.45 is a smaller round with less kick but it has less recoil and is more controllable. 7.62 packs a greater hit but has greater recoil also. To clarify, by 7.62 i mean 7.62x39mm, not 7.62x51mm. and by 5.45 i mean 5.45x39 also.
this is not a hasguns thread
>>65482351oh ok, im new here what is that?
>>65482354I can tell
I liked 5.45 when it was 10ยข a round.
>>654823475.45 is cool but doesn't do anything significant you can't get out of 556 and is too hard to get. 7.62x39 is different enough and a bit more common.
>>654823655.56 is fun to shoot, i want to try 5.45 though
>>654823475.45 is an interesting little bullet but ultimately it's main draw was price back in the day, it really doesn't do anything 5.56 can't, very similar to 9x18 vs 380 in terms of performance. I like 7.62 "Kalash" just because it serves a more distinct niche even if it's objectively a worse all around infantry cartridge. I'd like a 5.45 AK one day but not even God could separate me from my beloved SKS to put it like that
>>65482361Why can't we just pay in advance for a happening and a little crate of 5.45 happens to fall out of a truck onto your front porch?Certainly nobody is buying or selling it.
>>65482377It's virtually exactly the same.5.56x45mm NATO, M193 Ball:>.224 caliber >55gr FMJ lead bullet>3200ft/s from a 20" barrel>1300ft/lbs energy5.56x45mm NATO, M855 / SS109 Ball:>.224 caliber>62gr FMJ lead bullet with steel core/tip>3100ft/s from a 20" barrel>1300ft/lbs energy5.45x39mm, 7N6 Ball:>.220 caliber>53gr FMJ lead bullet with steel core>2900ft/s from a 16" barrel>1000ft/lbs energy
>>65482580interesting
>>65482347I love shooting 7.62x39 and I still keep a decent stashBut I would love to have a 5.45x39 rifle for "just in case"
>>65482354There are nogunz who have no guns and hasgunz who have guns. He can tell that you have no guns because anyone who has ever seen American 5.56 or Russian 5.45 go through flesh, tumbling, yawing, and fragmenting the entire way at extremely high velocities, knows it's way better than American .300 BLK and Russian 7.62x39mm, which tend to icepick through the target.
>>65482580Yeah but it'll never be as cool as an M-16 solid one piece receiver
>>65482361/thread I remember those days and staring at a polish AK
>>65482347>Do you guys like the 5.45way too expensive now. You missed the good times like 20 years ago. Just skip to 556 and dont waste your time on russian stuff.
>>65483103He might not be American. He might be Polish, Czech, Slovakian, etc. wondering whether to go 5.45x39mm or 7.62x39mm.
>>65483109he should choose whatevers cheapest then, both kill deer/people without issue
>>65483067M16s have two-piece receivers.
>>65483109>He might not be American'he' writes like a typical fat ameritard. >>65482347are you?
>>65483146your ESL is showing bad, manhes obviously not a burger is any way shape or form
>>65483146>'he' writes like a typical fat ameritard.Nah, to any native English speaker, OP is clearly an ESL.>Do you guys like the 5.45 or is 7.62 superior? >5.45 is a smaller round with less kick but it has less recoil and is more controllable. 7.62 packs a greater hit but has greater recoil also. >>65483147Then why is he here? /k/ is a North American board only
>>65483146>'he' writes like a typical fat ameritard.No he doesn't.
>>65482347No.5.56>5.45300blk > 7.62x39338 ARC > 9x39
>>65483155Same reason the war tourists are here. Brought in by recent events with little to no care for or knowledge of weapons of any kind.
>>65483158>300blk > 7.62x39Wall. Face it. Now.
>>65483155i dono, anonwhy do we have multiple internationals on a board about weapons, where it includes vehicles, military history, media, hunting, sports shooting, and other such current events?maybe you should ask the guys in /msg/, /hg/, /eug/, /sg/, or /bpg/? you know, since they have all those euros who frequently shoot skeet, black powder, and target pistols?
>>65483158300blk will never have the most iconic magazine in existence The quintessential "banana clip"
>>65483161Cope and seethe, 7.62x39mm is an outdated and shit cartridge. SHIT.
>>65483169They should try their best to pretend to be Americans then
>>65483173That's what I usually do.
>>65483172It isnt practically any worse than any other cartridge for real world useIt definitely has better barrier penetrarion than 5.56
>>65483181lmfao noWorse trajectory and range, worse recoil, worse wounding (by far), magazines need to be huge fucking bananas because it's needlessly larger for what it actually does. Better barrier penetration is the only advantage it really has at all, 5.56/5.45mm have far flatter trajectories, zero recoil, much better wounding, smaller and lighter mags.
>>65483161300blk shoots heavier subs, shoots better made supers faster, performs better subsonic, and doesn't have a bullshit case head and fucktarded taper.>>65483171That garbage useless shape is from said fucktarded taper. The only problem with 338 ARC is its case is soviet based, so weak bolts and bad case taper rather than just samispec-ing the 338 whisper that used the 10mm magnum case.
>>65483181It's very bad for moderm performance, no good bullets are made in it, your options are milsurp trash that icepicks, civillain FMJ that icepicks, a few civillain SP loads that ice pick, 1 hornady load that blows apart and under penetrates within 75 yards, and ice picks past 100yds.
>>65483171The classic AK is a very cool antique, but woefully dated when there's so many other options. Better than nothing at all, I suppose.
>>65483202>icepickis it nice having sub 60 iq? i've been meaning to get lobotomized, and would like some advice
>>65483210i suggest using 7.62x39 to carefully remove the frontal lobe without damaging the rest like its icepicking bullet always does.
>>654832107.62x39mm does like to icepick a lot.
>>65483210lol
>>65482365It looks neat
>>65482580You forgot, G7 BCM855 0.1517N6 0.168
>>65483210But he is right, you know.
>>65483210>nogun slavbo has no concept of terminal ballisticsThat does check out.
>>65483233Someone post it. You know the thing. I can't find it.
5.45x39 is objectively an improvement over 7.62x39. It shoots flatter and has better wounding. Also 5.7x28mm is in the same continum of 5.45x39.
>>65483022I see we need a further distinction between hasgunz and nowar. Having guns doesn't teach you shit about wounds and actually using them. This is a nowar post.
>>654823477.62 superiority, 5.45 is just a result of russians copying mutts because they saw their slop-15 and mistakenly thought they're onto something
>>65483022>hides behind thick treeNow, what?
>>654823476.5x39, which serbs already switched their AKs over to
>>654835566.5x39 is just badNgay 6.5 grendle, which is already gay.
