nice get

if i registered my own suppressor off of a modular 3d print, could i have multiple suppressors attached together as one piece to fasttrack the registration?
basically just a really long modular device made of baffles that all thread onto each other off 1/2x28 threads, and could then be taken apart & put on multiple guns?
>>
>>65488888
>tfw state law includes "legally registered" as a requirement to use suppressors
Still picked up a Velos that I shot for the first time yesterday
Also bought some 77 gr to try because I forgot how dogshit the fuckton of TulAmmo I had on hand is after shooting terrible groups at 100 yards (and that it's probably best to avoid putting that shit through my nice new suppressor)

No, I live in NC so we can't get them from 4473s. I already own a velos though. Might get the 762 version
>>
No, filling out a 4473 (for a metal tube, no less) is still complying and thus just as bad as tyranny itself.

Celebrating tiny non-victories like gun owners have been doing recently is pathetic. Wake me up when the entire NFA is ripped up and the entire ATF is dismantled, when there is not a single "federally licensed" gun dealer left in the country, and when I can order select-fire belt fed rifles directly to my door from the manufacturer with cryptocurrency. This could happen overnight if "second amendment enthusiasts" weren't so easily pacified.

If you're a member of one of the plaintiff organizations (GOA, CCRKBA), the injunction should mean you can just make silencers with no Form 1. Serialization requirement may still apply, depending which org; there's some dispute even for Jensen plaintiffs (CCRKBA). Also various future options, such as selling them or taking them across state lines (though I think that's SB[R/S]-specific, silencers are okay?) may still require NFA registration, and thus become impossible for any NFA firearm not registered "at birth", since there's no way to legitimately register an already-existing NFA firearm.

If you choose to go through the NFA process at all (because you don't want to join one of the plaintiff orgs, because you want to keep some NFA options open, or because your state law prohibits non-registered NFA firearms), you should assume all rules apply same as always -- each suppressor should be registered separately on its own Form 1 and serialized individually. Even genuinely modular suppressors are effectively prohibited by default*; SOTs can get around this with a specific ruling that a modular product counts as a single silencer, but there's no way for a Form 1 maker to get such a ruling.

Otherwise, the safest choice (other than waiting for ATF guidance) is to make each suppressor separately, and serialize each as required under the NFA -- no Form 1, no registering of any sort.
If you're covered under Jensen, and convinced the injunction protects you from all marking requirements, then there's nothing left to worry about -- print anything you like, any way you like, the only rule is to have fun.

*This is because the NFA defines "silencer" to include "any part intended only for use in [assembling a silencer]"; this creates a risk for a modular suppressor assembled in a short configuration, that any baffles/extensions left over will each be considered a separate silencer.

Hey NCbro, ENC here. I was bummed when I checked the list of gay states. I only have one 5.56 and have been waiting for the tax repeal to add maybe an R9 and a .22 can. But would love to impulse buy same day.

Think i might just buy another one anyways desu. Went to a local shop earlier and they have some Omega 300s. Dude there said they can handle everything in shop so that'll be nice.

The only thing putting me off of buying another can was having to deal with the ATF site. I remember having a lot of trouble when I did it on my own.

Yeah, my local shop has an R9, that by the time I find a cheaper one and pay shipping and their high transfer fee, it will be approved in the same amount of time it takes to FedEx. I was leaning towards the Dead Air RXD22ti for a ringside only because it perfectly matched my 10/22 barrel. What are you gonna get?

After some thinking, I think I'll get a Velos 762 for my 300blk AUG and my SAM7R. Might as well anyways since any further progress from GOA, SilencerShop, PSA, and whoever else will take longer than a form 4 lol. Pricier than the Omega but flow through and no barrel length restrictions. The shop doesn't have any in stock but I'll try and ask if they can order it for me.

Kind of a weird thing.

>have FN Five Seven with M10x1 threaded barrel
>buy a dedicated GSL 5.7-22 suppressor
>barrel manufacturer (EFK) advertises for use with GSL, so it should just work
>M10x1 adapter on suppressor won't thread onto barrel
>first thread bites, then gets insanely tight
>fuck
>double check product information on barrel and suppressor
>yup, both are supposed to be M10x1
>double check suppressor and barrel to make sure I'm not retarded
>yup, definitely feels way to tight
>need to figure out which part is out of spec
>go to local ACE the helpful place
>use their nut/bolt size gauge
>mfw both thread perfectly

It would appear that GSL and EFK use opposite ends of the tolerance. With tolerance stacking, I'm now out of tolerance.

I ordered 2 under the assumption that my local NFA dealer would be going along with the ruling. They called me later that day and told me they wouldn't and I couldn't get in touch with Silencer Shop for the last month to cancel my order so I was left stuck waiting a fucking month for them to approve the Form 3 and then ship to my dealer and NOW I'm still having to wait for the Form 4 to be approved. They sold a lot of suppressors by not being totally forthcoming about what dealers would be participating and now I'm left holding the fucking bag. I could have had these 2 cans a month ago if not for those faggots.
>>
>>65494800
that's a pisser, you could buy a tap or die to clean up the threads on either end, or take it to a gunsmith if you weren't comfortable doing it.
>>
>>65495121
I thought about it. But the threads on the suppressor are stainless. Way softer material than what's on the barrel. I'd rather have the barrel wear down instead.
>>65495216
I've got a tap and die set with that size, but I'd rather message GSL and have them provide work instructions or offer support. That way if there is a concentricity issue, I'm covered.

But, honestly, I didn't like the EFK barrel in general. It's just too long. There's a massive gap between the slide and the suppressor. It's even worse with the 1/2 x 28 adapter. I've got a different Five Seven barrel on order from Jarvis, which is shorter.

Any recommendations on the new low back pressure titanium suppressors? Something not Huxwurx.
A bunch of developments have come out over the last few months, I'd like to take advantage of the newer technology.

wow how very predictable
>>
No, PA doesn't allow suppressors or SBS unless they're in accordance with the NFA so only SBRs for now. I work at an FFL so I get deals on cans; I'm buying my first one, a Saker 556
>>
>>65495407
Why even suppress a five seven? It won't be quiet, and if you use subsonic, it'd be like an expensive 22. Kinda defeats the purpose, don't it?
>>
>>65497678
Why buy such an old outdated suppressor? Are you getting it for like $400?
>>
>>65497678
Wait, PA allows you to make a SBR without a Form 1 now?
>>
>>65497887
>It won't be quiet
Yes, supersonic suppressed is never "quiet"
>and if you use subsonic, it'd be like an expensive 22
Yes, but with a reloadable case, with a more reliable priming system, and a more reliable case feed design due to being bottlenecked and rimless, and bullets that are 50% heavier or more and easy to find and inexpensive
>>
>>65497887
I get your point, 5.7 is supposed to be high velocity, armor piercing, etc etc. But 5.7 has more mass than a 22. It's not as useless as you might think.

But more importantly, it's such a nice damn gun to suppress. It's very pleasant to shoot and the FN Five Seven is very light despite carrying 20 rounds. Even with the GSL suppressor, it's still really light.
I'm always shocked every time I pick it up. My Beretta M9 with the Mojave 9 suppressor feels like a cinder block in comparison.

I'm so glad I didn't buy the B&T dedicated suppressor for the FNs. It's much heavier and would have ruined the gun.

>>65494620
Check out CAT-ODB as well because it's tailor made for your use case. Flow through can designed specifically for .300blk subs and 7.62x39. It tested extremely well on pewscience subsonic .300blk test, far better than the other flow throughs they tested and up there with the quietest traditional baffle cans. The only downside is it won't perform nearly as well on .308/6.5creed etc as a general use .30cal can, but it's a necessary tradeoff if you want subsonic performance with flow-through.

It's finally here.

It's made from steel, it's heavy, not very quiet, high in back pressure, and just over $1k.
A suppressor that I bought solely for aesthetics and not performance.

Gonna check the based LGS and see if they still have some in stock. .22 was the hottest selling caliber I noticed when I got my suppressors.
