What are FRTs:
Forced Reset Triggers (FRTs) are firearm modifications that allow semi-automatic rifles to fire more rapidly by automatically resetting the trigger after each shot, while still requiring a trigger pull for each round. They increase the rate of fire without converting the firearm into a fully automatic weapon.

List of platforms that offer FRT/Super Safety support or are currently in development, footage and recommended distributed sellers.

I bought the Arizona Regulator because I was looking to build AR clones and wanted a period correct exterior.

One issue I had was the finish of the AZ Reg kit, it was too black for my tastes. You can see in the pic the difference between original M16A1 and AZ Reg finishes.

You can use a milspec full auto safety. The milspec trigger too, but you have to cut a small notch on the back of the trigger assembly to fit the AZ Reg disconnector. Alternatively, you can use a milspec disconnector, but you'll need a dremel to trim it down.

I assembled my XM177E2 kit first. I used all the parts from the AZ Reg kit. Trigger, disconnector, and hammer. I refinished the AZ reg parts (except hammer) with the same moly resin I used for the receiver. So far it function tests OK. After I put my A1 kit together I'll take both out for a range report

what does s3igu2 mean by this?
>>
>>65493017
Thanks. I suspect the XM177E2 will need a heavier buffer, but we'll see.
Had the two AR projects for roughly 7 years. These are my only ARs. I tried to be as period correct as possible. Even going as far as getting the 80% lower marked with a hydraulic press to replicate roll marks instead of using a laser engraver.

The M16A1 will be the real challenge. I have a HEL-E4A suppressor I'll keep on it full time, getting it tuned with a full back pressure suppressor and a FRT will be interesting.

Unironically why wouldn't I? If I'm in a self defense situation where I'm otherwise legally allowed to shoot, why wouldn't I just dump an entire mag in half a second? It's probably within speaking distance so most of the shots are on target and sounds better to me than taking x number of deliberate individual trigger pulls. Those situations like the mall shooting at a long range is the only case where I'd be thankful for single shot only

>>
>>65496914
Because in a self-defense situation you still own and are liable for every bullet that leaves your gun. That means collateral damage up to and including shooting a bystanders is going to be on you. A FRT in a pistol is harder to control than a single shot, combine that with a massive dose of adrenaline and you can see how shit could go sideways pretty fast. That is assuming the tuning on the pistol is rock solid so that it doesn't shit the bed when you need it.

>M2 FRT when
>>
>>65495083
It's unlikely everyone is just going to abandon it - theres enough M249's out there to make money. You're just going to have to face the music that multiple AR belties as well as HK21 and HK23's and likely the MG42/MG3 will have good solid FRT's long before you do so adjust accordingly.
There's too much SAW parts and accessories to justify getting rid of it, you should modernize it in the meantime with the short para barrel (SBR)and the collapsible stock and rail handguard

How many bystanders are around, behind or between a murderous maniac and me? All 3 of my encounters have just been a me and him or it scenario where any stray shots would hit a street or building at worst. 9 milly isn't penetrating a billion houses and ending a family of 10, its causing minor utilitarian or housing damage in any sense where you'd have to pull a gun
>>
>>65499335
FBI stats most gunfights involve an average of 2 to 3 rounds fired. I dont think a FRT is needed for this.

Another reason not to is like what I said earlier, pistol FRTs are not reliable. You pull to hard on the trigger, you get a malfunction. This is because it's not a machine gun.
>>
>>65499345
>pistol FRTs are not reliable
I agree but am responding on the viable concept that they can and will be with development. My argument is that that if you need to put a bullet in someone or something you may as well put 10 or 15 or whatever you're carrying through an (almost) automatic feature, it'd be equally justifiable

H2, any super safety made with good materials should work well
>>
>>65500402
So I shouldnt have any issues with an Atrius then?
>>
>>65500903
no, just make sure your low reciever has a low shelf or m16 shelf

What I would recommend over the atrius though is the ARC Fire as it is more robust and costs the same and has the same requirements. It also comes with a cut trigger so you dont have to worry about that.
>>
If a SS is not working in semi having to manual recock and will fire bursts 3-9 at a time on SS but will stop at needing to recock on a live round what should be looked at first? In a m16 pocket lower with a full auto BCG. H1 and H3 buffers have been tried. 3d printed center is on the SS but is not tight to the sides package came with a cut trigger.
>>
>>65500952
make sure your disconnector spring is on correctly, possible you need the upper part cut or you can use the quarters trick.

Its between the ARC and the Atrius for me
I was under the assumption that the Atrius doesnt need a cut trigger, is that not true?
>>
>>65500972
that's correct. If you really dont want to take your trigger out at all for some reason, then sure atrius would be better. The ARC fire comes with a cut trigger though but of course your would have to replace your current trigger with it.

If the deciding factor for you is based on not wanting to replace the trigger then atrius would be the option

Everything is looking correct the disconnector spring looks a little bent not sure if that would matter. I'm thinking its the 3d printed centering block as it never fit right in the receiver. Others have said it can cause dead trigger which is what was happening. I heard some people use a earpiece to center it or just run nothing.

>you may as well put 10 or 15 or whatever you're carrying through an (almost) automatic feature, it'd be equally justifiable
While technically true, I doubt a prosecutor's office would see it that way in most cases.

Yeah I'm fully aware of the two cases Ayoob wrote about, one where some guy was being chased down by a motorcycle gang and the other where some gunshop owner responded to a ram-and-grab robbery where some scumbags had driven a car through the wall of his gunshop to open the place up.

Neither of those was a random mugging attempt by a single criminal or a robbery in some restaurant. Both were in 2A-friendly jurisdictions, and in both cases the defenders had the time to prepare and think about how they were going to handle the actual shooting part.

Fire off a burst from your Glock in the middle of downtown Chicongo and, well, sure that's pretty normal, but most of those cases involve dirtbags who don't care about the consequences and whose bodies produce enough melanin that the Soros-owned prosecutor won't charge them, unlike you.

I went with L2 Prints because I wanted a trigger pack that matches.
It works great, and is insanely fun. But you can tell it's life is limited. I've gone through over 2k rounds, and it's still working. Had to replace the plastic buffer the L2 FRT came with, as it was getting chewed up.
I reccomend going with a drop-in, if you can find one. Or go with the AS designs SS lower, if you don't care about it looking gay.

Do not change a fucking part in the gun. All that shit about locking pieces will ruin it. Out of the box, it will work flawlessly with a FRT and suppressor. Also, all that noise about QC problems at MKE is with the earlier guns. I have yet to have any issues with original parts.

Many thanks. I skimmed all of them. All of the trigger-related patents are for binary triggers, not for FRTs. There may be some overlap where the claims could read on Rare Breed's products and force a settlement, but none of them are about the same subtype of product that we call FRTs (or used to call them that before Rare Breed trademarked "FRT" -- now they're Forcibly Assisted Resettable Triggers, or FARTs).

>>65510161
>different type of lever in the back for the reset
Well, good luck to them, just because they have a patent on something else doesn't give them any special privileges on a new product that they just came up with. Rare Breed pretty well locked down anything with a cam and a lever for the next 15 years.

As far as "pre-date anything rare breed owns", their earliest patents are in the 8 million range. Rare Breed had one in the 7 million range which is now expired.
>>
Why is it so expensive to build a p320 flux? The chassis is over $400 and even used p320s are about the same price. On top of the the Texas Trigger (although I hear it's great) is another $100.

>>65517941
