You're an Imperial warlord trying to stake your claim and turn your sector forces into your own empire after the death of the emperor. What is your fleet composition, assuming your stuck within practical limits? You're not Zinge, so no SSDs for you, and no Crimson Command fleet of a thousand star destroyers either.

Hard mode: All your star destroyers were taken to and subsequently lost at Endor, and Kuat is on backorder, so no star destroyers either. At least no unless you steal them from other warlords.
>>
Assuming I've taken over a sector with suitable industrial resources, I'm doing the CIS thing and automating everything.
I keep whatever the biggest ship I've inherited as a ceremonial flagship and everything else is getting tuned towards robot fighterniggery.
My most loyal followers can have themselves a propaganda "elite" fleet with manned fighters and caps with turbolasers so they have something to larp with on the holonet.

I'll go Hard Mode (as long as we're not considering Victory's to count as "Star Destroyers and only counting Imperial Class as unavailable), and I'm using the old canon because fuck the new canon.

Several Task Forces each centred around a Victory Class primarily for use as carriers escorted by at least two Lancer class frigates for anti-fighter protection and then an outer picket of Carrack class working in wolf packs. Get shielding installed on my TIE fighters as quickly as possible, hyper drives on my TIE bombers for hit and run attacks to thin out any enemy fleet, and demote / execute any officers who throw away highly trained pilots for no good reason.

>Several Task Forces each centred around a Victory Class primarily for use as carriers escorted by at least two Lancer class frigates for anti-fighter protection and then an outer picket of Carrack class working in wolf packs.
That's the most ordinary basic bitch loadout I've seen for the 50th time since 2001.
>Get shielding installed on my TIE fighters as quickly as possible, hyper drives on my TIE bombers for hit and run attacks to thin out any enemy fleet, and demote / execute any officers who throw away highly trained pilots for no good reason.
And how exactly are the TIE fighters going to power those shields with their little solar panels? What you are talking about is the TIE defender program, which was a complete redesign of the TIE fighter that took years to complete and was awfully expensive, which you are going to afford how exactly?
Putting a hyperdrive on the bomber might be more viable, maybe.
>>
>>65495786
If I have no star destroyers I just use strike cruisers. 2/3 equipped with turbolasers and 1/3 equipped with hangar modules as pocket carriers(24 interceptors 12 bombers).
>>
>>65495906
>That's the most ordinary basic bitch loadout I've seen for the 50th time since 2001.
If it works it works
>And how exactly are the TIE fighters going to power those shields with their little solar panels?
Small reduction in power to the engines, I don't need them to go multiple times faster than an X-Wing, only somewhat faster
>What you are talking about is the TIE defender program
It's really not, the clue was me not typing "TIE Defender"
>which you are going to afford how exactly?
...by not purchasing the thing I never said I was purchasing. A surprisingly elegant solution to a problem that only (you) think exists
>>
>>65495786
Tactics: destroy C3PO and R2D2 at maximum firepower.

Since they're protected by the script, I would melt them down to atoms and then blow these atoms apart
>>
>>65495850
What kind of automation? You aren't part of Sheev's super secret unknown regions fleet, so you don't get Tie droids, and things like Vulture droids have been out of production for 25 years, with the Empire not keeping any in stock.
>>
>>65495786
I will not aquire capital ships, just keep those that I already have and require low maintenance. All the saved funds go toward a planetary based snub-fighter force which are equipped with hyperdrives and shields. Families, status, luxury and veiled threats of violence will keep my pilots from defecting. Particular fighters of interest are A-Wings and Y-Wing variants, in Imperial livery. There will be nothing that I cannot outrun, out-dogfight or outbomb in my little sector. There is, of course, a lack of force projection, but there are other ways to gain power besides brute military force.

Shouldn't this be posted on /tg/?
>>
>>65495943
Stuffing a mass produced droid brain into a TIE fighter is not exactly a major overhaul, it's easy enough.
And that'll hold long enough for someone to design me a proper replacement fit for mass production.
>>
>>65495873
>as long as we're not considering Victory's to count as "Star Destroyers
They might get left behind due to their slow speed compared to other ships, but unfortunately, Grand Admiral Jaque'as selected everything labelled "Star Destroyer" on the fleet listing datapad, even the Gladiators.

But considering this medium, or not quite hard mode, the Victory class doesn't carry many fighters. Are you sure it can manage as the center of carrier group? They lean much more heavily into the battleship side of star destroyers.

>Shield generators on Ties
Is that possible? Surely there must be downsides. Even if it is theoretically possible, can your facilities do it?

>Hyperdrive Tie Bomber
Again, is that possible?

>That's the most ordinary basic bitch loadout I've seen for the 50th time since 2001.
That's because it works. The slow but heavily armed against fighers Lancer complements the slow Victory with its tiny fighter complement.

>What you are talking about is the TIE defender program
There were shielded TIEs aside from the defender. The defender was more like a next generation TIE trying to push the design as far as it could possibly go. The Avenger and Advanced series come to mind. I do agree that retrofitting shields seems like it would be a taller order than he makes it out to be. Though, hyperdrives are feasible, provided you use a detachable ring system.

>>65495920
Why not something like the Vindicator-class, or old Acclamator IIs, or Dreadnoughts?
>>
>>65495988
The TIE fighter is notable for being the most cost efficient design at the time, operating on razor thin margins in every performance category.
If you want to put a shield into it, you first have to divert power from the ion engines and second you are adding weight to the craft notable for being light. That's a double strike against speed and manouverability for a shield that's not going to get enough power to be actually good.
In modern terms, the TIE fighter has little to no modernization potential, which is why they needed extensive redesigns to add features like the shield. I don't think they even have internal life support, the pilot is supposed to be in a sealed space suit in there.
If you want a design more tuned to pilot survivability and you don't have the means to develop something like a defender, you buy a different fighter entirely.
>>
>>65495979
>I will not aquire capital ships
Assuming you had been hedging your bets beforehand, in case something like this might have happened. Would you have acquired anything in specific back when things weren't so urgent?

>A-wings
Aren't those rebel produced? How are you going to get them?

>Y-wings
Those should be easy enough to get, plenty to be found secondhand or in scrapyards.

>There will be nothing that I cannot outrun, out-dogfight or outbomb in my little sector.
How will you defend your planets from rebel attack? They have many corvettes and frigates in their fleets which are much better equipped to deal with fighters, and have plenty of experienced pilots in good craft.

>, in Imperial livery.
So no livery at all then. Imperial "colors" are the lack thereof.

>Shouldn't this be posted on /tg/?
Star Wars isn't a tabletop game, and I wasn't asking about what you would pick in Armada or some other tie in tabletop. I was asking as if you were an Imperial warlord in the Star Wars universe.

I think fictional weapons still count as weapons.
>>
>>65495927
>, I don't need them to go multiple times faster than an X-Wing
I think the speed would be useful in allowing your fighters to get where they need to be or get away if their losing. Intercepting enemies, pursuing fleeing enemies, and boom and zoom tactics all hinge on speed.
>>
>>65495988
>>Shield generators on Ties
Ship design doesn't run on any real logic but the games and books have plentiful shielded TIEs. Retroactive additions seems really simple, any old pirate or scrapyard can apparently just pop a shield generator and hyperdrive into anything and make it work. If you apply engineering logic to things, then the additions will drain power and slow down the ship, but given that a TIE Interceptor is canonically faster than an X-Wing in every single media, the question just becomes just how efficient you think the engineering work is and whether a TIE interceptors engines are any better than a X-Wing, both are questions where any answer is just making shit up.
>>
>>65495981
Not all droid brains are the same. They have to be designed and programmed for their allotted task. You can't just slap the brain of a protocol droid in a TIE fighter and expect it to work. And even a well made droid brain is still going to be markedly inferior to all but the worst organic pilots.
>>
>>65495994
Strikes are cheaper, more modern and modular. Dreadnoughts probably work for the turbolaser role but I think they can only hold one squad of fighters at best, plus they are old, maintenance might be tougher. The others are arguably star destroyers except even more rare, especially post endor.
>>
>>65496007
>I don't think they even have internal life support
They don't.

I do wonder if an adjustment in tactics could increase survivability. TIEs are very fast and nimble. Maybe they could be pushed into boom and zoom attacks. If you combined with a high low mix of new fighters and the TIEs you have, the new fighters could do most of the dog fighting, while the TIEs pursue soft targets and skirmish.
>>
>>65495988
>>65496020
>Is that possible? Surely there must be downsides
It doesn't have to be especially effective, the Lancers are my anti-starfighter force. The TIE's are primarily to draw the Alliance / Rebellion / Republic whatever they're calling themselves this week fighters in, and if your superior told you: "You're going to be used to draw other fighters in so they can be engaged by lasers near you" would you prefer the next sentence to be "if you get hit you will die" or "if you get hit you might survive"?

Overall my goal isn't conquest it's primarily consolidation and stability for the systems I control, in order to have me be considered the legitimate ruler when the galactic situation stabilizes.
>>

>>65496038
The Vindicator and Acclamator may look like star destroyers, but they aren't. The Vindicator is closer in capability to a Dreadnought, but with a forward concentrated firing scheme, and the Acclamator, while similar in purpose (being an assault ship that carries turbolasers for defense and orbital bombardment), its too small to fill the role of a star destroyer. In space combat its more of a carrier that doubles as a lightly armed cruiser than a battleship and carrier. The latter is still common on patrols and as a troop transport.
>>
>>65496050
How will you handle the protection of trade? If would be pirates (or traitors and rebels calling themselves commerce raiders) know you can't push the offensive, they may switch focus to using gunboats or corvettes to attack shipping, rather than fighters.

>>
>>65496075
I suppose I wasn't as clear as I could have been with what I meant. By "my goal isn't conquest it's primarily consolidation and stability" I mean: I'm not getting it into my head to expand, but instead primarily focusing on trade protection, rule of law, etc.. Against gunboats and corvettes the Carrack wolf packs would be the primary force. Coupled with punitive "examples" being made using a larger portion of my fleet.

Essentially: If the Empire re-establishes itself I want to be able to report "I kept a firm grip on the systems the Emperor assigned to me", and if the Republic takes over: "I maintained the peace, without committing any actual war crimes."

TIE fighters dying in droves in straight up battles is largely fanon. If you watch the original films, they tend to give as good as they get.
The bigger problem that loses them fights is that the Empire as a whole has a lopsided fleet composition designed for fighting capitals and surface bombardment. Ships like lancers and tartans are in short supply despite being the answer to their problem. In real life terms, that's the rough equivalent of sending aircraft carriers to go around without the rest of the carrier strike group keeping them safe.
So the rebels get lots of opportunities to jump on an underdefended target, wipe the inadequate TIE garrison and fuck off before the big ships can catch them.
As a recently independent imperial cumlord, it's actually fine to rely on TIEs as they are while you set up your industrial base to produce something else more suitable to your purposes. Of all the combat space craft, fighters are the easiest to make so that's really not that big of a deal. You can probably scrounge some clone wars era republic design and update it to match your production capabilities. Even an empire of just 10 planets ought to be able to do that.

I thought it was mainly a secondary canon thing, based on quotes from Lucas about the TIE being the equivalent of a Japanese Zero.

>they tend to give as good as they get.
To be fair, they also have a pretty strong numbers advantage in every fight, and in the case of the Death Star, AA gun support.

> Ships like lancers and tartans are in short supply despite being the answer to their problem
I've heard the IPV was decent in the role, and they were very common in the Empire. Though usually not as part of fleet actions.

> In real life terms, that's the rough equivalent of sending aircraft carriers to go around without the rest of the carrier strike group keeping them safe.
Probably has something to do with the local admirals and moffs all wanting the big prestige pieces like star destroyers, so they spent all their allotted budget on that, instead of on a more well balanced fleet of smaller ships.

>. You can probably scrounge some clone wars era republic design and update it to match your production capabilities
V-Wings seem like a good choice. They handle similarly to TIEs, while having shields and mounting points for hyperdrive rings. They'll fill the role you need, while being easier to train your TIE pilots on.

Going off TIE '94 logic, I get as many escort carriers and escort shuttles as I can and start shitting out TIE/IN like they're on sale. Everything gets magpulse bombs and ion cannons. If I can replace TIE pilots with droid brains coordinated from the shuttles and a couple more guns I do that. If I can't make the cockpit section tiny and hilariously hard to hit because droid brain, I fill the dead volume with Space Torpex.

I always assumed it was the broad-stroke, ethical undercurrent / theme that it's easier and more typical for the vast majority of people to side with a selfish bully. Lots of dummies & bullies in the world, but it's up to the target audience of LARPing tween-agers to stand up and save it.

>Does SW ever attempt to explain why so many ppl are still willing to cosplay as spoogy frowny ghost astronauts, even after the embarrassments of Yavin and Endor?
The Empire ran the entire galaxy for 20 years, and was itself the successor to the Republic, which ran it for a thousand. There's a lot of institutional intertia. Plus the Empire's power structures aren't just gonna disappear because some important figure embarrassed the organization. Even if the emperor is dead and Tarkin wasted billions of credits and lives on an ego project that exploded, your local imperial garrison can still kick your door down, kill you, and torch your house, and you can't do anything about it, and even if you somehow did, the local fleet could just bombard you into nothing. And, of course, you likely depend on the Empire for your way of life, since its a fascist state(in the proper sense of the word, not the "evil bad man who dislikes minorities" sense). Everything in the Empire is tied to it in some way or another. Your empire run business that depends on the empire to buy its products and protect its shipments, located on the planet where the only source of law and order is the Imperial governor, isn't going to suddenly become a free liberal democracy because the guy signing the paychecks of the guy signing the governor's paychecks is dead. Someone else will just take his place, and the system will keep on, because that's all people know and all they have.

For most of the galaxy, the alternative to the empire is squalor and anarchy, not self governance and freedom.

>But the warlords are evil lunatics and war mongers
They were evil lunatics before. Most people never interact with them. They just pay their taxes, toe the party line, and get left alone. Occasionally somebody pisses off the powers that be, and he gets killed for it. They brush it off and try not to think about it, the guy probably had it coming anyways.
>>
>>65496961
>>65496778
As for the war mongering, its a warlord period, there is no non-warmonger option. You either go with what you know, betray him for the warlord next door, hope the guerillas who got lucky and started larping as a government come to save you (and that they won't cause more harm than good), or you chance it on your own.

A lot of warlords were deeply entrenched in the political systems of their territory, running a government with the express involvement of the locals, which naturally leads to serving their interests in exchange for their loyalty. Maybe even being one of them himself.

Others may simply have no place in the New Republic. I'm sure all the Imperial collaborators, war criminals, and slavers are in no rush to join the government actively looking to punish them for those things.

Refit some Acclamator IIs to hold TIE fighters instead of LAATs and other troop shit and use them as a wolfpack rapid response task force. Drill them in coming out of hyperspace within proton torpedo range and hold them back to reinforce positions being attacked by enemy capital ships to secure an alpha strike. Create a fleet out of whatever Victories and possibly Venators I can get a hold of as my primary battle fleet, augment them with whatever Lancers, Carracks, Raiders, Quasar Fires, Tonfalks, Gladiators, and Dreadnoughts I can find. Create smaller fleets of the same sorts of smaller vessels I used to augment the battle fleet, for patrol, escort and possibly raiding duty. Is resources permit, create a variant of Gozanti that's a cross between the Imperial Gozanti and CROC. CROC speed and firepower, Imperial fighter and AT-AT support. Get as many TIE/INs as possible.

Also, I'm deciding that EC Henry's take on the Pursuit class cruiser exists, so they got in the patrol/escort/raider fleets too.

Speaking of tough cookies, let me remind you fo THESE!

Gamma-class ATR-6 Assault Transports.
They have 3-4 turbolaser turrets that cover pretty much every side of the craft. They have 2-3 forward-facing ion cannons. They have 2 proton torpedo-capable warhead launchers with 8 warheards magazine each.

Their shields can tank a direct hit from a proton torpedo and not even go down. They can carry 40 boarding troops in their cargo hold.
I swear, trying to fight these things thile trying to protect your rare and precious TIE Advanced/Defender factories was an absolute pain in the ass.

Honestly, now that I am out of the Imperial navy... I kinda think that these things might be just a perfect heist-craft, should one go into space piracy. Just saying.
>>
>>65495786
>Hard mode
Take a page from the Rebels' handbook and build up forces of long-range multipurpose small craft. Things that have hyperdrive, shields, and decent weaponry (especially ion cannons you can use to seize other ships). Organize your patrol forces from squadrons of things like Xg-1 Assault Gunboats, and Skiprays. Back these up with whatever else you can buy, steal, or upgrade to be used similarly. Y-Wings are probably #1 on the acquisition list for cost-benefit ratio, but there are tons of other options like militarized light freighters, troop transports, or shuttles. These guys do recon and patrol of your systems to keep you aware of what's going on, deal with criminals, and make your presence felt to the locals. They fight whatever they can handle and run away if outmatched.

Capital ships stay at a network of strongpoint systems with defensible space stations (which also serve as bases for you fighter patrols). Your TIEs live here and help defend the strongpoint. Capital groups only go out when the fighter patrols identify good targets or locals get ideas about independence. You want a small number of large formations of medium-sized warships. VSDs, Nebulon Bs, and similar stuff, and each formation having at least one Interdictor if possible. Acquire as many DP20 Gunships as you can get and disperse them among your capital formations for anti-fighter defense.

Ground forces get sent to garrison every world that has a planetary shield. They live at the biggest generator facilities. Their job is to protect the shield generators or destroy them if they can't be held. Build more shields if you can.

Make it hard for the locals to go independent, and make it hard for outside forces (Rebels, other Imperials) to absorb you unless they're willing to take you on your terms. Be ready to grab up nearby territory if its owners are weak or distracted.
>>
>>65498801
I went slow once, it was awful. Looking at you, Ass Gunboats.
Plus if you're on the defensive against raiders 99% of the time as you would be, they don't do anything that can't be done at leisure with a couple of random shuttles *after* you've killed everything you don't want to board and shot all the guns off the things you do. You're going to be doing a permanent Sepan Civil War most of the time and if another non-retarded Imperial shows up with a proper fleet, well bend the knee and give him his 10% off the top or whatever.
I take the question as "what are you actively trying to produce over and above the collection of Z95s and SPCs you got stuck with when it all went sideways" and it seems Interceptors are the STEN of SW spaceships. Nothing fancy but a lot of firepower on target fast.

4x Dreadnought-class Heavy Cruisers
>12x Dunelizards or Scykes per, replacing þeir TIE complement
12x Gozanti-Class Armed Transports which have been refitted to reduce þeir cargo capacity to switch out þeir armament to be 8x Duel Light Turbolaser turrets and 4x Quad Light Laser Cannons, as well as upgrading þeir shields and hull plating.

Assorted oþer ships will be added as þey're captured and man-able.

I would sell my ISDs to eiþer þe Mandel Motors OR þe Rebellion where I would, as a show of good faiþ, begin working to integrate þe Xenos into þe worlds I control, explaining þat it must be done slowly due to likely unrest from þe majority Human population.
I would have, until now, not actually done much to combat pirates in order to justify my necessity, but now I'll wipe þem out and take þeir ships, OR pressgang þem to raid my neighboring sub-sector commanders, keeping þem on a tight leash and slowly integrating my own men into þeir ranks to eventually take over þeir operations and keep þem in-line.

>wookie cookie
I know the males have a red rocket (George Lucas confirmed this in a personal email reply to me in 1996, but I no longer have access to my AOL account to prove it), so it would make sense the females have a cookie. That might just be furry speculation though.

I would take all my remaining warships, transports and people to a region far from the core. I will then institute a eugenics clan and caste-based system, where warriors are the top of the pyramid. I will create huge bipedal warmachines that are piloted by only the best genetically-enhanced warriors ruthless chosen through trial by combat. One day, my descendents will reconquer the Core. Dare you refuse my plans?

I'm going all in on Gozantis and CR90s. Both ships are plentiful, their parts are plentiful, and the customization options are almost endless. A sector fleet could probably keep several hundred of them operational too, which would be great since that many of them would be able to constantly patrol my borders without too much strain on supplies or crews.
Whatever large ships I could get my hands on, like Venators or Gladiators, would stay in the middle of my territory so that they could respond to any larger scale incursions.
Also, I'm ditching regular TIEs in favor of TIE Interceptors. I'll use the ones we've got, but if I have any fighter manufacturing capabilities then we're going all in on Interceptors. Would probably try to use captured Rebel fighters and reactivated droid fighters too since those worked so well.
Lastly, I'm going to open my recruitment up to near human aliens. Several of the other warlords are already doing it, so there's no reason why I can't too. Might even open it beyond near human if I have a particularly warlike species in my area.

Since Force strength is infection-based, vatbreeding Clanners for higher and higher -heroin- er, midichlorian counts would be essential.

Another practical aspect to iron wombing everyone is that mass killings become even more useful. Just have droid corpse collectors gather and analyse the dead. Potentially beneficial genes get harvested, while the biomass is recycled.
>>
I focus on becoming a mega Sith lord obviously.
>>
>>65495786
I'd just collect all six Torpedo Spheres in the Imperial fleet and parade them around as collector's items to rub it in the faces of the other warlords.

I Victory SD max where I can with Acclamators and Munificents where I can't. If I get TIE Defenders I'm using the fuck out of those because they're just the best fighter in the setting and fuck everything up, TIE Hunters everywhere else

Whatever I can find ,but if I can build new ships I would try to get at least three Lancer-class frigates for every ISD.
>>
>>65495786
I go full total war mode, I take whatever I have/can find, convert civilian ships, ramp up production, hire mercenaries, trade with hutt cartels and crime syndicates, arm separatists, and raid convoys for ships and credits. Guerilla an terror tactics are the way, General Grevious was a visionary.

I'd just gut my Star Destroyers and turn them into carriers, then cram as mush TIEs into each of them as I can, preferably a few Defenders too if they're available or any other hyperspace capable fighters. And I would sure as hell train Force sensitive pilots, because Anakin and Luke were absolutely broken OP pilots thanks to their connection to the Force, it would be a waste of time and energy to train them in melee combat with glowing swords.
I would use my carriers the same way how Rebels used their hyperspace capable fighters, except I'd have an entire flying airbase full of hundreds of fighters. Pop out of hyperspace near my target, launch my swarms of fighters, each squadron led by a Force sensitive pilot, then order them them decimate key targets, before they could launch their counterattack or call in reinforcements, then recall all fighters and fuck off back to hyperspace.
>why not orbital bombardment via turbo laser barrage
Because fighters can attack more individual targets + I can keep my carriers in a safe distance away from planetary defense systems. Orbital bombardment requires your ship to hover above it's target in orbit, leaving it exposed to counterattacks. I'd rather lose a few squadrons of fighters than a capital ship.

Fighter/bombers are broken in the setting, so are space autists. Realistically most of them would get pulped by PD systems if anyone was competent but we literally let kids shove proton torpedoes up our bums

I am assuming Venators and Procursators are out.
Imperial II class figates, Acclamator II, Dreadnought class cruisers, Vindicators, Immobizlier 418. These "cruisers" are practically my best bet and the work horses. Imperial II and Acclamator II can double as mini carriers, while Dreadnought and Vidicators are the heavy hitters. Albeit Dreadnought is crew heavy so not optimal if manpower is a problem
Raider II, Nebulon-B and Lancer Corvettes for general picket duty
The real question is ground forces. AT-AT is garbage. Think they should mass produce 1-M Repulsor Tanks. Actually, why not refurbish/manufactue B-1 battle droids for general security details.

this is going to be a bit unconventional, but I'd throw my lot in with Hutt forces. They're dirty bastards, but I'm already an Imperial at this point ergo I have no morals. besides that frankly political play, I'd upgrade as many CIS weapons as I could get my hands on with commando-grade or even tactical droid chips as I could get my hands on. by the time the senate gets to my little slice of heaven I should have scrubbed off enough imperial imagery to make myself look like any other pirate, thus the failing democracy will get confused and leave.

Just use juggernauts then.

TIE engines are canonically great, and really the thing that made the whole TIE family work at all. They're on par with all but the most high-end mass-market engines performance-wise, while also being relatively cheap to build and some of the most rugged and easily maintained fighter engines avaiable at scale across the galaxy. Like, you won't get the same performance out of them than an hotrodded A-Wing engine, but the latter is a hangar queen that makes your maintenance staff think about plotting your demise.

A TIE Interceptor with just a basic shield added on instead of the penny-pinching the Empire did is genuinely a fantastic fightercraft that would make imperial snubfighter doctrine work the way it was theorised.

Is a man not entitled to the darkness of his greetings? "No," says the man on Coruscant, "It belongs to the poor." "No," says the man in the Corporate Sector, "It belongs to the shareholders." "HROOOONK," says the man on Tatooine, "HROOONK HURK HURRRR." I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose the Moffship.

Probably try to recover as many venators and ARC 170s as I see things start to slide. Use the 170s as recon pickets based off of venators. Fill the remaining hanger space with various flavors of TIE to bulk things out. Have local(ish) QRF supplied by Acclamator Is & IIs along with carracks as apparently those two are nearly as fast as the Falcon is. The 170s range out and send up a signal if they find nosey rebels or my fellow esteemed colleagues poking their fleets were they're not welcome. Acclamators fly in with their escort to go blow shit up. If needed I can go pull the venator(s) in to swarm them in strike craft and provide some more heavy guns. Still have plenty of troop capacity to move my enforcers around. It only relies on reactivating whatever unscrapped venators are left which isn't exactly easy but not a horribly difficult task either.

this
>>65508453
and this

with a couple changes

I would do converted SDs carrying a mix of 15% TIE fighters for bomber escort purposes, 80% TIE bombers for fucking up capships and orbital installations and 5% of literally whatever hyperspace capable fighter for recon or the occasional deep strike on a small critical target
as anon has observed, PD in the setting is ass, so we need more of it
so I would gut some CR90s and cover them in point-defense lasers
I would also start a crash development program for a hyperspace capable torpedo because as recent events have shown nothing says "I am an sovereign state and wish to remain so" more clearly than missile-ing the fuck out of your enemy's bases and industrial infrastructure
>>
>>65511397
How many venators could you even get?
>>
>>65512530
Few, if any.
They're all scrap by Endor.
>>
>>65512530
Galaxy wide id guess theres maybe 100, 200 tops out of a fleet that was in the several thousands. You might be able to get 5 of those back up and running in short order with another 5-10 long term projects. If you were just trying to hold idk like 3-5 systems I think it could barely work. You'd definitely want to get more modern and common carriers quickly. Venators are honestly pretty small ships and they're not going to last long in a fight against a fleet of SDs let alone SSDs or Mon cals
>>
>>65511397
The ARCs are a good idea, but you basically have no capital ships. You'll get like maybe a dozen venators and they're dogshit in anything ship to ship. You get what like 4 heavy turbos on any arc. Any Imp I or II is going to have like triple the fire power and MC80s are going to wreck your shit. The victory Is and IIs are at least somewhat better and can carry a decent air wing. The Acclamators are also just going to melt under any sustained fire. You have nothing anchor your fleet around
>>
>>65508573
>Ewoks
Legitimately a galaxy-winning strategy if you spam-type "simonsays" or genetically modify them to fly starfighters. Just remember to tape prosthetics onto their stubby limbs so they can reach the controls. Yub yub, Commander.
>>
>>65513112
>mecha-ewoks
not a half bad idea
you could do very nimble mechas, the fuckers are so small you could probably get away with an armored fighting compartment that's the size and shape of a large beachball
hell, at that point you could stuff two or three pilots in there for redundancy
>>
>>65512590
You'd probably have a better time getting old Lucrehulks than getting Venators by that time and using those for your carriers instead. Also would be better for the Frontline use if you can somehow get the Battleship variants for use.
