The sights are off making it practically useless past 200m, the bipod sucks, it fires on automatic at a blistering 240rpm and after a couple hundred rounds the long recoil system seizes up jamming the barrel in the rear position rendering the gun inoperable until the barrel cools. As for the magazines, they are open on the side letting dirt in, the walls are so thin that squeezing can deform them and the springs were so weak that soldiers rarely loaded them past 16 rounds. It was an all around awful light machine gun whose only accomplishment was being cheap to manufacture.The reason why people are trying to "reform" the 8mm Lebel version is that it would actually fire if handled correctly compared to the .30-06 version which was just plain broken. The thing is, some people have taken this "reform" to mean it was somehow a decent gun and it wasn't. It was still supremely shit but it was shit that would fire, slowly, inaccurately and for a short time before the barrel jammed and only if the magazine was partially loaded, were handled with he care of newborns and the open sides kept free of dust / dirt.
The XD sticks because the grip safety locks the slide. If you injure a hand, it makes chambering a round extremely difficult.>t. once saw a guy in a cast struggle to load a XD.

If you can handle the little additional recoil, don't mind the difference in capacity (or live in a state where capacity is hamstrung) a Glock 23 is the same gun as a 19. Same with the M&P and XD. Whereas a 10mm is a substantially different, larger frame, and has to handle tremendous recoil unless you're putting essentially .40SW loads in your 10. I do find it kinda funny how the most popular 10mm ammo is on par with slightly spicy .40.

What method of working the action are you using that doesn't involve having your remaining hand on the grip of the gun? What I always see recommended is catching the rear sights on a table or your pocket and racking the slide in that manner. That's like 95% of why people bitch about GLAWK's plastic sights.
