How in the actual fuck can ragheads in sandals conduct amphibious assaults? What timeline is this?
>>65502679Anon. Saudis are the equivalent of crash dummies that haven't been used in car crashes, and can replicate themselves.
>>65502679Turns out it's actually not that hard
>>65502679>how can abdullah, mahmud and muhammad x3 grab a boat and cross a water obstacleWe may never know
>>65502698Given the Saudis have a sizeable air force, they should have been sunk en route.
>>65502701Given they're Saudis, that's not the case. They're not a competent, credible military. Even if they have foreign pilots, those pilots are dependent on the rest of the military and the guys on the ground to do their job properly.
>>65502701the actual Saudis are a single family that, thanks to polygamy, has maybe at most 10,000 people, and the entire rest of Arabia are just people who happen to live in their kingdom. Most of Saudi Arabian politics makes sense if you remember that.
I haven’t been on today so forgive me if this has been asked: what’s going on with the Houthis and Saudi Arabia in general? I saw they captured an island (don’t know how or if it even matters), the US was increasing aid to the Saudi effort, and then all of a sudden a Saudi oil well was on fire but that is apparently due to Iraqi terrorists or something? Is this all a coincidence or is this some kind of gambit by Iran?
So the Iran Houthi Alliance have shut down the Strait of Hormuz, the Suez Canal and popped the Saudi pipeline that was getting oil out of the Middle East.
>>65502707Iranian plan to strangle the Saudis. With both Hormuz and the Mandeb blocked and the cross-country oil pipeline blown up, the Saudis can't export oil.
The silver lining of this clusterfuck is the potential to get the world off of its oil dependency a lot faster than otherwise. Ironically this would benefit nobody in the middle east, and yet the war is still being waged in the same way lol.
>>65502707Iran funds and arms the houthis as well as various terrorist militias in Iraq but, as with all proxy arrangements, cannot directly control what they do with the weapons and cash
>>65502712So much for glownigger shills on /k/ telling you that Iran and its proxies are now toothless and calling you brown for saying otherwise, lol
>>65502679they have rivers in the desert?
It's not that Houthis are good, it's that Saudis&Co are retarded
>>65502736It's a wadi (arroyo in Spanish). Only runs when it rains.
>>65502707A mix of Iranian gambit that kicked the hive nest that is Yemen into a frenzy as well as genuine Saudi incompetence
>>65502717Can they not go through Israel using trucks or trains or something? I know they don’t particularly like each other, but money is money and they’re both US allies, at least nominally. Also, I’m sure they both hate Iran more than each other at this point. That’s not including other countries.>>65502720I doubt they are acting totally on their own, after all, the timing is perfect. That said, I also don’t know if this is part of Iran’s grand strategy or just a spur of the moment idea or (initially) minor move. Anyone have good arguments one way or the other?>>65502747So a mix of the two? I know Saudi’s have been considered paper kittens for decades, but surely their princes/oligarchs/whatever know that they are susceptible to attack and should take every precaution to protect the one thing they export.
>>65502760>but surely their princes/oligarchs/whatever know that they are susceptible to attack and should take every precaution to protect the one thing they export.A competent military is the greatest threat to a dictator.
>>65502768Not only a dictator, but also a petty tyrant. I remember a story from 2 years ago that "MBS," (Mohammed bin Salman) the top Saudi prince, locked the President of Oman in a hotel room and threatened him physically, to accept some disadvantageous oil arrangement. The whole region is full of poofters acting like tough guys, and that is the real reason why pissant fanatics get mythologized into great warriors.
>>65502780>locked the President of Oman in a hotel room and threatened him physically, to accept some disadvantageous oil arrangement. How does that work? What President would keep an arrangement like that when they back in their own country?
>>65502679You know "Why Arabs Lose at Wars?" Well, in spite of what the GWoT propaganda might had told you, most of the Arabs are actually our allies in the Middle Eastern struggle.
>>65502780All dictators are tyrants Im not sure why you felt the need to make a distinction
>>65502679allah wills it
>>65502679Iran have been pretty good at becoming retard wranglers for the Houthis but that also shows of the uncomfortable truth about this situation and that Iran are a lot more organized then we'd like to believe.
>>65502730But you're brown though
>>65502718You already see the us and Canada fighting over who gets Chinese solar panels and batteries first. Both sides explicitly stating that the crucial point in negotiations isn't actually trade relations with eachother but rather what trade relationship China is allowed to hold with Canada.Hilarious.
>>65502744>>65502703"Competent credidable" US military just fled region. At least Saudis have boots on the ground. Don't throw such accusations without demonstrating your own performance first. Let see American el-Mandeb Strait counteroffensive first.
>>65502679Their "amphibious assault" is a few dozen ragheads in whatever boats they have at hand sailing to the island to have a gunfight with another group of ragheads. They tried this back in july and failed so this time they most likely sent more men. This map misleadingly has large green dots on both Zuqar and Hanish islands implying there are cities or towns there but the islands are uninhabited besides having some military presence.
>>65502838holy esl
>>65502803I'm using "tyrant" imprecisely, describing a personality that can never leave well enough alone. Always pushing boundaries and being a dick even after his position is settled.I can conceive of a dictator with some positive aspects. Some reason beyond looting and self-aggrandizement for his goons to follow him. Courage or charisma, not mere psychopathy.>>65502785It sure sounds like a bit of a tall tale. But I have a sense of there being some Russia-like power dynamic in that region. Whereby MBS made that prez his "bitch" or something, and now some "message was received" or some "hierarchy" was established henceforth. That the hotel room dynamic carried an implication, that being MBS would scale it up to interstate level if the Omani president ever stepped out of line. And then supposedlt the rest of the Omani people, who still think in terms of patronage, patrimony, submission to monarchy, vassalage, would hate but tacitly accept this as legitimate. "It has always been thus," just the nature of strong over weak, large over small. The whole layer of "presidents" and "election" would be purely artificial to them. A conceit, necessary to make money off the American order.
>>65502730>glownigger shills on /k/ telling you that Iran and its proxies are now toothlessThat's not glowniggers, that's rednecks. Glowniggers all think the campaign is retarded folly. And you are brown.
>>65502679Amphibious assault implies a contested landing, these guys took speed boats out to an empty island. It's closer to a fishing trip than an assault. What's interesting is no one considered the possibility and sent a force there to oppose them.Yemen is a clusterfuck and busy trying to hold back the main force but neither Saudi Arabia or the UAE sending forces implies they might just sit back and let Trump fall on his sword.
>>65502760Export oil by truck? Are you insane? It takes tens of thousands of trucks to replace a single supertanker, doing multi-day trips through the desert. You're not making any profit even at $150 per barrel, and nobody even has a big enough tanker truck fleet for this
Sauds are italians of WW2
>>65502963You do know the islands are in Yemen, right?
>>65502679You see anon, they aren't fighting just any arabs, they are fighting Saudis, the most arab of arabs, and as such the worst soldiers in the world
>>65502679>ragheads in sandals>Amphibious assaultSandals on the beach.
>>65502784Indeed, the more muzzies die, the more zog loses!
>>65502821>then >we
>>65502972Worse than neegorz?
>>65502703>>65502705they have the infinite money glitch. Nothing is stopping them from forming an experienced mercenary army for actual combat operations
>>65502803not all. Tyrants are the extreme version of dictators. Latter can be moderate, if not even competent. Its rare, but has happened in history. A tyrant just devolves into a blood thirsty hammer to whom every problem starts to look like a nail. Monke, mao, pol pot, hitler, saddam etc are all examples, but the mentality is best encapsuled by stalin>if there are no people, there are no problems
>>65502718That's a silver lining like your house burning down meaning you now got a property to develop.
>>65502760>using trucks or trainsAnon, transporting crude over long distances by truck will rapidly use up more fuel than said crude can be refined into. And there's neither enoug htrucks nor enough traisn nor enough roads and rails for any of this.
So apparrently part of the collapse of yemeni government forces along the west coast was literally thanks to a deepfake AI video of their commanding general ordering a full withdrawal being published on social media and that startign a mass panic LMAO.
>>65503046Comedy gold if true.
>>65503002>infinite money glitchNot even close.
>>65502979>oil becoming unaffordable for everyone is a wingranted you're Israeli so unaffected by all of this
>>65503013Your definition is retarded and wrong. A tyrant is anyone who participates in the rule of a dictatorship that was not lawfully established. Stop fucking English up by insisting that words mean whatever your sloppy feels suggest they ought. The word has been in continuous use since the classical period. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyrant
>>65502963So when will Rommel step in?
>>65502718Looks like EU was right.
>>65503104Sorry, the best you'll get is Hegsie.
>>65503157So when will Hegsie stumble in?
>>65503037Not really. Truck carrying 20 tons of oil will use 1 ton for 3000 km trip, 2 tons with back trip.
>>65503046I'd swear I've read that years ago in some SF potboiler. This timeline is weird.
>>65503002>experienced mercenary armyThey had that, they all went to fight in ukraine
>>65502720>>65502747>>65502760Something to keep in mind is that the Iraqi government is preparing to clean house. They have given the shia militias a hard deadline to disarm. What is notable is that they have also been mobilizing forces, creating checkpoints, etc, setting conditions for an actual hardcore combat op to root out any militia elements that do not disarm. Iran has varying degrees of control (or lack thereof) over these militias and last I heard several were likely to voluntarily disarm, may have done so already. But others are Hezbollah-tier proxies (including Iraqi Hezbollah, which is apparently not the same as the Lebanese Hezbollah, but is still an Iranian proxy)So, with them being in such a precarious position, one has to wonder what the goal of fucking with a neighboring country would be. Perhaps to force the fencesitters to side with the more hardline militias and fight the Iraqi government?
I don't know what to tell you man, Houthi's are just fucking Chad like that
>>65503272mudslimes by definition are not chad.

>>65502679An unstoppable force (arab inability to win wars) meets an unmovable object (a war between two arab states)
>>65503271Lol. LMAO, even. Those militias outmatch the regular iraqi army. If they actually try, we're seeing a new Iraqi civil war, and one in which the government is the underdog.>So, with them being in such a precarious position, one has to wonder what the goal of fucking with a neighboring country would be.Are you retarded? What's the point of fucking with US allies, if not to put pressure on them to bow out of this conflict (which would entail outright evicting US troops)?
>>65503287This isn't Lebanon. The Iraqi Army is trained, equipped, and experienced - at least to whatever extent an Arab military is capable of. This goes for the shia militias too (which are actually technically part of the Iraqi military, kinda), but Iran is in no position to continue supplying or supporting them at present, hence the Iraqi government is going to capitalize on the moment of vulnerability.
>>65503287Oh and the poltard babble. Random acts of arab niggery have exactly 0 chance of getting the US to stop blockading and bombing Iran. You should really consider the optics of having a new Hail Mary each week that will totally save Iran and get the whole region to suddenly side with them against America or whatever. It reeks of desperation.
>>65502679>Hanish Islands>The name may derive from a local word hanash meaning "snake" or "serpent"Man, I miss the fighting over Snake Island so much. What a magical time.
>>65503300Dude. Those militias were the ones that actually fucked up ISIS, while the Iraqi Army was busy bravely running away for the msot part. The Iraqi Army is fucking ANA-tier.>but Iran is in no position to continue supplying or supporting them at presentHuh. Funny. Someone should tell the Iranians, given they seem to be doing it anyway.>>65503307>muh blockade>muh bombingCope harder while the gas prices go to $10/ga.>You should really consider the optics of having a new Hail Mary each week that will totally save IranProjecting much? Trumps the one who is flip-flopping from one plan to the next every second week nowadays. All while the Iranians already made it clear they're ready to let this go on to 2029 and beyond.>and get the whole region to suddenly side with them against America or whateverNah, retard. Just dip out of the war and cease to be co-belligerents on the US' side becuase it's getting too costly for them.>It reeks of desperation.Yup, when your enemies are picking off your allies and knocking them out of the war, that's desperation. Should the US blockade take a page from China and do nothing and win? Can't fight landwars like the 1800's anymore. The Taliban can blitz faster than hitler. We can't go boots on ground to endanger our troops. Can't nuke from orbit. The war gives the Iran economy a functioning lifeline. We've even moved past war objectives from killing leaders and soldiers (Iran you can eradicate leadership). So the goal is: How do you target a wartime economy?

>>65502784t.
>>65503489I'm in your mother's pussy
>>65503703That makes no sense. If the name of the game is cost saving (which in asymmetrical war, it is) then it's about making the other exert as much energy as possible without using your own. Triggering houthis attacks in useless areas and false flags would be the best approach. People keep saying " oh no that's not the way". But believe me, it's the only way. To win: Minimize resources while using as little effort as possible. This blitz is proof that they're willing to mobilize across a desert. Buying time may mean hit infrastructure. The only way to speed up Iran's resources. Otherwise it's about giving Israel a win by weakening Iran.

>>65507201Iraq back then had one of the largest and most heavily-armed armies in the world, and invaded Iran as it was in chaos from the revolution, cut off from international arms markets and basically reduced to spamming militia while husbanding what regular army units they had left. The Iraqis promptly got stuck less than 20 miles from their starting positions, got entire divisions FUBAR'd and essentially retreated to the border to fight a trench war because that was the one way they could fight and not get their asses handed to them by barely-armed iranian militias. This was a picture-perfect Cold War mechnised army fighting irregular militias that every once in a blue moon had some support by regulars armed with dimishing stocks of gear. And they barely managed to get a draw by turning it into a positional war of attrition.
>>65509801The results aren't instantaneous, you're talking about a country in the top 5 oil producing countries on the planet losing their refining capabilities vs a country that produces <2% of the global supply in a global commodity market where pricing is affecfed by who is willing to pay what. We know Russia never stopped selling oil, just the pricing fell as sanctioning nations refused to let them enter the market. Now, those prices go up because the oil isn't even available for cheap. Even if Oil was completely tapped off in the strait it only accounts for 20% globally. Nobody wants to point fingers at kiev while washington makes an easier target, I get it, but you're delusional to think Iran throwing a fit is the sole reason. In 356, he issued two more laws forbidding sacrifice and the worship of images, making them capital crimes, as well as ordering the closing of all temples. There is no evidence of the death penalty being carried out for illegal sacrifices before Tiberius Constantine (r.578–582), and most temples remained open into the reign of Justinian I (r.527–565).

>>65502679The short answer to this question is that the Houthis are underrated as a militia and the Saudis are overrated as an army. To elaborate slightly, the Houthis are commonly depicted in Western media and pop discourse as a hillbilly ragtag guerrilla army, which is partially true, but they are also a hildbilly ragtag guerrilla army that is solidly rooted in its territory and its people, can offer a good enough level of government services in the areas they control, have a well-established logistical network and excellent strategic understanding of the territory they operate in, and can reliably count on Iranian aid. For what they are, the Houthis are competent. Meanwhile, the PLC is a loose coalition of warlords and tribes, some of which have only recently switched sides (including the formerly UAE-aligned Southern Giants Brigade), propped up by the Saudi army, which is well stocked with modern weapons, but also abysmally incompetent, nepotistic and corrupt.

What you are peddling is exactly the position that the US state department had at the time. Meanwhile the CIA itself describes the coup as "undemocratic". And I'm not saying it was a foreign operation imposed on a passive Iranian population. It was a Iranian political event organized and enabled by US/UK covert intervention. And this became the foundational revolutionary propaganda: The Shah wasn't just an Iranian monarch. He was a monarch sustained by foreign powers. And Carter desperately tried to keep the Shah in power even as the revolution was happening. And even then the Iranians didn't chimp out at the US embassy. Remember that the Shah was overthrown in January 1979. The Hostage crisis happened in October because the Shah came to the US for medical treatment and the Iranians thought the US was gonna start a counterrevolution. TL;DR: 1953 wasn't the reason for the 1979 revolution. It was the reason for the 1979 revolution being profoundly anti-american.
>>65515256>What you are peddling is exactly the position that the US state department had at the time.Because it's what happened. Just take the L you fucking commie prick. You spent all day writing that up and that's the best you do? You were flat out wrong, you claimed the shah was installed in 1953 and that's simply not true and never has been.

>>65514850NTA is dismissing 13 PMs the sign of a healthy regime?
I'm not a fan of Israel at all but that everyone takes every statement from their enemies at face value fucking baffles me. Apparently the entire Muslim world is so united in their hatred of Israel that they'll forego internal development or provoke war by attacking neutral ships [insert country of your choice here] and send their men to die only to bravely commit religious solidarity for their brothers in arms trapped in Palestine. And not that, you know, they might have ulterior goals of weakening their opponents/gaining power by doing so. I fucking hate how binary the options are and how quick even 'based' people will basically say 'actually the houthis are only doing this on their own initiative to help free Palestine. No, you aren't allowed to fire back, you can only respond in the specific ways I am telling you.' I don't give a fuck who or why Iran is what it is, only that it be pacified internally or externally. FWIW we are prosecuting this war in the most retarded fucking way possible and Trump is an awful negotiator. >"The west/France/US/UK has destabilized the middle east for centuries" you know what a fucking stable middle east looks like? It looks like Charles Martel fighting the Muslims at Tours. It looks like the Siege of Vienna. It is the battle of Lepanto. Our mistake is not providing stability through peaceful governance and domination of a rival threat. But make no mistake, Iran and everyone else will come for us when they feel strong enough to do so. It is an unavoidable fact of history. Or to be even more blunt, I would choose the West over the East every possible time if for nothing other than I am of the West and that is all that matters. And I bear no ill will towards anyone from the East who chooses themselves as well. It is how it is and it is how it will always be. Even if you take Israel as the enemy. The enemy of my enemy is my enemy's enemy. Nothing more, nothing less.
>>65515335Anon you're embarrassing yourself. US foreign policy is the root cause here and all over the middle east. You are just being obtuse about what constitutes a puppet regime.Hindsight proves 100% that the people in Iran thought "Fuck America and their puppet". And the only reason they thought that was because of the US meddling in their affairs. It doesn't even have to be legitimate to have the anti-american effect it had.Like with the Shah's medical trip to the US: the US wasn't even planning to do a counterrevolution because CIA thought they could work something out with Khomeini. The guy was in exile in France. If America had wanted to stop Khomeini from returning it could have been done. But in 1979 the Iranians in the street don't know that. They just know their monarch was in Americas pocket and they aren't big fans. This is almost newtonian in the way it plays out in US foreign policy. >support the Shah>1979 Revolution and hostage crisis>support Saddam in the Iraq-Iran war>get bombed in Lebanon for it>Saddam now invades Kuwait>now need to counter Saddam>Saddam finally overthrown, hands Shia majority country to Iran>Iran now has landbridge to Syria to arm proxies >need to support AQ terrorists now to counter those>tear up the JCPOA for good measure>Iran enriches uranium>surprisedpikachu.jpg>bomb Iran>get the same number of strikes (with warning by Iran) thrown at Al Udeid>kill Iranian leadership>new ones have massive hate boner for americaAmerican action begets anti-american reaction. Like clockwork. And I'd be generous if any of this had made america richer or more powerful instead of a perpetual drain of resources.
>>65517087>Apparently the entire Muslim world is so united in their hatred of IsraelThe Gulf Nations are allies with Israel.>that they'll forego internal development or provoke war by attacking neutral ships [insert country of your choice here]The Strait of Hormuz was closed by Iran because the US did a decapitation strike against their leadership and military. Closing the Strait is basically the only response that hurts the US and the neutral countries they are screwing over are the US's Gulf State allies. Iran has never closed the Strait before despite being bombed several times, this happened specifically because of the decapitation strike and demands that Iran's next government submit to the US and Israeli demands.>And not that, you know, they might have ulterior goals of weakening their opponents/gaining power by doing so.Most people view Iran as self interested and using Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthi's as a proxy. The Pro-Pali crowd tend not to be very Pro-Iran.>I don't give a fuck who or why Iran is what it is, only that it be pacified internally or externally. FWIW we are prosecuting this war in the most retarded fucking way possible and Trump is an awful negotiator. There is a reason why every previous administration has kept there hands off Iran except for the occasional strike on suspected nuclear facilities and it is because they can close the Strait of Hormuz and we've known this for decades. The way to defeat Iran is to invade them and occupy them for a decade or two like Iraq, spend a few trillion dollars and it will probably be bloodier than Iraq and Afghanistan combined. The US public doesn't want another "Forever War" so they decided on a ineffective half measure and now things are worse then they were a year ago. Fact is, there was no easy answer and the previous bad status quo was probably the better option.
