The Cambodian army has a few thousands SKS and type 56 carabines ( we still are trying to figure out how many are still laying around in various storage facilities) and a bunch other stuff but for now we are focusing on the more easy items.After years of asking we might finally be able to get an export permit within the next few months and be able to sell these items to the anywhere we can legally import them to.For shipping we have already sorted out a carrier that can also take DG1.4 ammo as well.However I don't have much experience with the import process. I know that these item should qualify as they have been out of China and Russia for decades but I am wondering if we should just sell them in bulk to an importer that will take the whole lot but for cheap or maybe try to import them ourselves and auction them off. What are your thoughts?

>>65506939Go the ATF website, look for contact number. Call. Ask to meet with local field agent to go over what's required. Once understand federal requirements, submit all license applications to ATF. Then apply for business license in your state. Whule thse are processing, find a company in Cambodia who can legally export the weapons to you. Determine cost of firearms, export tariffs, shipping, import tariffs, etc... to begin building prospectus. Once licensure process is complete, show prospectus to investors/banks. When funding is secured, arrange for exporter/shipper in country to legally get the guns sent to you. Sell guns, pay back investors, look at bottom line, realize small-scale import business is at best marginally profitable, and decide if you're OK with that or get out of the business. Same with any other import game. Good luck.

We can also do all procedures on Cambodian side and deal with shipping as we have been exporting dangerous goods out of Cambodia for a over decade. We also shipped a lot of commercial explosives to the States ( literally thousands of tons) but never really dealt with firearms and our current clients do not have experience with old surplus either and we usually rely on them for import.There is quite a treasure trove here of old stuff and I have made attempts at buying many items but the export process always required the president equivalent (PM) here to sign off on it which was a major hurdle. Now we managed to have a series of face to face meetings with the minister of defense for other matters and now of looks like that finally the paperwork will come through. As there is near zero market for personal firearms here all these items are just using up space. About condition of the items there is the full spectrum. From the super fancy chromed SKS that were specially made for the royal guards to the baten up training rifles and some new in box. Anyway planty of old things, there are loads of AK mags of all types, some american stuff that was supplied to the pro American lon nol govt, Vietnamese stuff, some old French guns, a bunch of mig 21 that have last been upgraded by an Israeli company in the 2000s but have been grounded for years. An absolutely massive Russian helicopter called Nathalie that need some repairs (Mi-26) and a lot more random items.
