Boar spears are longer than bayoneted rifles and have a wide cross guard to help keep the animal at the far end of the weapon. So that doesn't necessarily rule out attack and guard dogs but hunting dogs are really their own specialised 'type' in a lot of ways, very ancient history which tends to get buried under a massive pile of shit by various rights and PETA people who raise a lot of crying about hunting with hunting animals.
