You misread my post because I never said I don't like the anime-ness of BT, in fact I actually like it a lot. People forget even that mechs in BT aren't even like gundams that are fully mechanical but actually even more like evangelions since myomers are artificial muscles that allow for very organic movement of the mechs

I don't mind the lore and especially the current lore that much, but I also haven't read to much especially in the later eras as far as novels go so idk if the boots on the ground setting is retarded. The ilclan era is interesting as clan Mary Sue, excuse me, the Wolves won and claimed Terra, but nobody really cares because they have their own shit to deal with. I personally like playing the most modern era because I like all the new tech and new mechs. The Eris and Hammerhead are both very cool and I like them a lot. Also modern variants of the older mechs like the Phoenix Hawk 9 or the Wolverine 9R
