>>65512708The NFA is always been a disaster, especially after world war II and they started selling m1 carbines on the open market. If you didn't know the original law said 18-in barrels on rifles anything below that was illegal unfortunately the US government sold m1 carbines to the general public which had a length of 16 in so they reclassified the law. The NFA also originally almost put pistols on the list of restricted firearms.

The pistol section was scrapped, but the parts about pistol work-arounds were left, so we got the retarded cluster fuck we have now.
