The bullets can’t have a large meplat because they need a large ogive to feed reliably, and you want a large meplat for straight line penetration through bone and sinew and other bear shit. And you need to change all the springs and maybe make some other modifications so you can shoot “heavy” 180grain 10mm hopefully reliably and now you can’t shoot regular 10mm without changing all that stuff back out and crossing your fingers. Or, you can get 180grain 357 magnum rounds with as wide of a fucking meplat as you want so the straight line penetration through bone is better and also the sectional density of the round is better so you’ll get more penetration anyway. Also, you won’t have cycling issues because it’s a revolver and you can switch the ammo out to whatever you fucking want to whenever you want to. But that’s just if we want a gun with the same bullet weight and muzzle energy, why not carry a 41 mag, 44 mag, 45 +p+ Colt, 454 Casull, 480 Ruger, etc.?>but muh follow up shots and mag dumpingI don’t give a shit, ten rounds that don’t penetrate to a bear’s vitals won’t do shit versus one round that does.
