Air to ground 500lb JDAMs, targeting pods, and APKWS-II being added to Anduril FQ-44. Not even asked by the airforce in increment 1 or a requirement. Horny

Smart to commit to that role early. There are signature disadvantages to not having an internal bay, but it’s not like you could really call this thing stealthy to start with. Model at AFA shows four pylons, though the spacing would be insufficient to fit the dual racks. That should give twice the payload of the GA offering which I believe was two AMRAAMs in the bay. There’s a lot of room for cheap ground strike and counter drone capacity when the alternative is buying an F-15EX

Sortie rates with the Williams FJ44-4M turbofan is gonna be insane combat altering even when compared to the F110 and F100. Not to mention the pilots don't need to sleep or take breaks.

I wonder if you could use a mixture of image recognition and radar to identify ground targets and use computation to get an acceptable CEP on dumb bombs could save $22,000 to $36,000 per drop if we could forgo JDAM kits for stand in strikes.

I believe I read an article quoting an Anduril exec claiming a same hour turn around during the Creech tests. Now everyone likes to talk about a Pacific scenario, but distance is going to kill sortie generation for everything and it’s an open question how many of these even survived to the second mission. But if we were to find ourselves in another Afghanistan for example, now that really becomes something. With just a few squadrons of drones in country you never have a CAS capacity issue again, that’s almost certain

I think Anduril's jet specifically isn't survivable in a nasty 6th gen fight but i think this can provide anti-cruise missile and fixed ground target destruction in medium and low intensity combat.

It would be perfect for the current Middle East dust up I think. Also probably a fairly compelling option for smaller European countries. I believe the Dutch have signed on to be a part of current CCA development, it will be interesting to see what if anything they end up buying in the end.

I agree completely but I also had a thought you could use it to draw out advanced planes into a ambush by sacrificing 2 or 4 against j20s because it carries missiles externally and has a vertical stabilizer.

Where Roadrunner?

Potentially, though that depends on if they’d actually bite on that bait. Though I believe there’s been a lot of work on making MALD decoys able to mimic the signatures of higher value stealth assets that could fill the same role

This would be extremely cool with SDBs or if they could get it to hold and launch one big bomb like a QS-ER

>in a nasty 6th gen fight
The US is literally the only country on earth that is fielding 6th gen. China still hasn't even fielded a legitimate 5th gen, nor has anyone else but the US. There's a reason the YQF-44 was originally designed to simulate Chinese and Russian fighters during Red Flag type exercises, and that's because they're basically 4th+ gens with stealthy bodykits.

may we see it?
>>
>>65513976
Yes but Andurils specifically isn't shieldAI X-bat or Lockheed Vectis or other high end survivable CCA its being built for a target $20 million
>>
air to air jdam when???

>>65513976
China has 600 5th gen and is producing another 150/year. If you can't get the basic facts straight why even post this slop?

Whoever made the thing and named it after Aragorn's sword is a mega nerd

Is this possible?
Would this make sense to produce?

F-47 won't have its first flight until 2028 and the F/A-XX program is on pause because Hegseth and crew hate the fucking navy

I'm glad the USAF isn't run by retards like you.
