>get really good at war
>enemies just surrender/run/beg for their lives or try under handed tactics instead of giving you a challenge
>now they just try to hide and ambush you with explosives making pathetic attempts at getting spared when they get caught
what happened to honor and warrior ethos?
>>
>>65517201
being honorable and virtuous doesn't win you wars it just gets you killed
>>
>>65517209
Being despicable doesn't win them either. All you fags who are like
>Just war crime your way out of it
Ignore the fact that Russia does that, lost in Afghanistan and is losing in Ukraine. Whereas, if they fought decently Ukrainians really would have capitulated by now.
>>
>>65517201
>honor and warrior ethos?
Died completely in WW1 as the warrior is increasingly removed from actual combat.

>>65517241
> being despicable doesn't
It does. Killing partisans, destroying every bit of infrastructure of your enemy and being a complete tyrant is how you receive lasting control of areas. Destroy, rebuild and solidify control. It goes completely against UN, human rights and how western democracies organized their laws though (including US).

> Russia in Afghanistan
War with vaguely defined objectives, the result was killing 11% of the Afghan population and injuring almost half of it. There's no economic incentive to hold these mountains, all you get it butthurt goatfuckers with 0 economic value. US should've learned from this.

> Russia Ukraine
Russia fought an offensive war with a minority army for years now. I think everyone is completely confused as to how Russia is fighting this war and what its objectives are. Just 2 months ago they started to seriously bomb train infrastructure, fuel storage, civilian vehicles used for war purposes. Things you would do on day #1 of the war instead of day #1100.

They won't win as long as Putin refuses to escalate further and do a full scale mobilization so they will have a numerical advantage of ground forces along with a numerical advantage in munition, artillery, armored vehicles and air strike capability.

>The gloves are off now hohols
Lmao, the copes never change, just the way these faggots word them
>>
>>65517201
it was always a meme that they only cry about when they are getting their shit pushed in, you average soldier all the way up to the nobles weren't in it for le honor but because they wanted loot or a new place to rule in the nobles case

Cute.

Total subjugation and severance of Ukraine from Europe. I think you're just in denial they got their shit pushed in so hard they had to run from Kiev and Kherson.
>full scale mobilization
Can't equip and support the soldiers they have now.

It's by and large a myth. War has always been cruel and brutal. It can be exciting but the nature of it is killing and one of the things to realise is few deaths are instant or clean (it does happen but most are not) while I love weapons I do not like what they do and no more that being in an abbatoir is fun neither is much of the contact if it is more than a brief firefight. Even when that ends if anyone tells you that they 'enjoyed' being beside men while they were dying afterwards and it takes time and you are there hearing their bodies fight for every second of life while knowing they are dying, chocking, covulsions, spasms, cramping as oxygen to muscles falls...dear God let there be an end to war.

Is this descriptive or prescriptive?

Top Gear had a skit where Jeremy Clarkson drives a sports car around their track while an attack helicopter tries to get a lock on him, and he was successfully able to avoid it while the helicopter was flying over the track or right behind him. This is warrior ethos.

Richard Hammond then points out that the helicopter's range would be like several fields over, so they showed a clip of the car swerving this way and that while from so far away the helicopter locked on easily. This is the effectiveness of warrior ethos with modern weaponry and tactics.

If the US military had any balls they could put Iran out of its misery right now. Instead they're fucking around with two hands and one foot tied behind their back for fear of offending various "allies", "communities", and "domestic" audiences. That is modern weaponry and tactics, without the warrior ethos.

The US' defeat by Iran has shown that even with massively superior firepower and technology, Western militaries will always come up short against an opponent fighting asymmetrically, because they are unable to fully leverage this firepower indiscriminately like they were able to against the civilian populations of enemy combatants in World War II.

However, non-Western militaries have no such moral scruples against targeting enemy civilian populations, and therefore they have the advantage. As the West's edge in military affairs begins to degrade due to thirdies being able to access the same technologies and the West finds itself on the backfoot, will we finally see the gloves come off, the eyebrow being raised etc and Western publics being a lot more comfortable with inflicting massive casualties on enemy civilians? For example, many Americans seem to be okay with targeting the Three Gorges Dam, even if it kills millions of Chinese
>>
>>65517374
>Three Gorges Dam
oh the chink spammer is back, the guy who repeatedly makes threads out of nowhere to falseflag about this single dam, over and over again.

Nobody in America knows what the fuck the Three Gorges Dam even is. Go back Chang.

Wrong. For something to be killed, it must be alive first.

>Comes into a thread to shill for Russia, four and a half years into a failure of an invasion
>Immediately throws a fit and runs away on encountering any push back
Russia has used their whole army in this conflict, all that's happened is the myth of russia's military power has finally been shot in the head.

They can't reallt mobilize further (beyond just the political ramifications) because their logistics were complete shit even at their first strike where they failed to push into Kyiv despite the doors essentially being open, it hasn't gotten any better now after years of wasting material along with their fuel reserves and storage warehouses getting hit by an opponent who has made the effort to build themselves as a military force.
>>
>>65517201
>xaxaxa you're decadent western values will prevent you from beating us
>nooo!! you can't beat us! this is literally genocide!!!
The two modes of the third world.

The U.S. followed Textbook COIN strategy in all of their wars, how did it work out for Afghanistan and Somalia?
Of course just the act of war criming your war into Victory is not a guarantee for victory, but people just don't capitulate if you play it nice as a foreign invader.
>>
>>65517201
>under handed tactics
>hide and ambush you with explosives
Lol, maybe don't invade places.
>>
>>65517256

Is this bait? They've been doing that since the start of the war.

Good. Stay gone and keep busy holding Putins dick with your mouth open cunt. You never belonged here if you don't know weapons are for freedom, protecting the innocent and just defense of free nations, not wars of aggression and murder by dictators and authoritarian gulag states .

>the US defeat by iran
doesn't exist, so why are you talking about an imaginary defeat? iran and the US are still duking it out and are at an impasse.
