>>65524284The Mig-21 is an absolute shitbox of an aircraft, used only because of its ubiquity and cheapness. The only thing it had going for it on a technical level was speed, it was otherwise essentially blind and an absolute cunt to land. Most Fishbed pilot fatalities were during landings.

At the very least China saw the short comings of the Fishbed and turned it into a decent platform starting with the J-7E and eventually evolving into the FTC-2000C and JF-17. Just looking at a lot of the J-7 accidents and very few are from the PLAAF with most being from whatever negro or muzjeet hellhole they sold them to. It really just is a competency issue and the Fishbed/Fishcan gained most of it's dangerous reputation as it was sold to thirdies with no aviation tradition as their first actual fighter plane.
