Realistically how far away are we from SHTF???...With everything doubling in price, and gas/diesel exploding, is SHTF just around the corner?
When do you think the food trucks will stop, and do anons still have time to prepare? I don't have a lot of money to work with, but have been steadily preparing for a few short years, and would be semi-ready for a SHTF scenario, but my Family/Frens haven't been taking my warnings seriously, and now all of a sudden they can't afford anything...So whats the next step in the plan /k/ommandos? Are we cooked, or do we still have time to get everything in order before hell breaks loose?

It's probably not just around the corner, but if it was it would probably be quite similar to this. It would be quite a sudden collapse. I need to buy another brick of .22 ammo I think. Each shot can poach a while cow if things get really bad

>how far away are we from SHTF?
Unless you have an invading army about to lay siege to your city, trapping you and everyone else inside, there most likely won't be a 0 -> 100 SHTF scenario happening where everything goes from normal to fucked in a day or two. The decline we face will be gradual and encroaching. Things will get more and more expensive. Gas stations will have less and less gas, for a higher price. Something will break, and no spare parts will be available for repairing it. Your food choices will be limited as imports halt. At some point rationing will kick in.

The plan here isn't to head innawoods, it's to keep a tight-nit community around you so that you can help each other. You help chop firewood for an elderly neighbor so they don't freeze to death when the brownouts start, they then give you some flour so your wife can bake bread for your kids.

Keep a .22 rifle handy so you can hunt pigeons and rabbits and whatnot. Read up on how people got through the Great Depression, rather than how people got through the Siege of Sarajevo.

For me shtf will just be taking a weekly shift at one of the checkpoints that get set up to prevent city niggers from coming here to try an loot. I'll probably still work my normal 9-5.
>>
>>65522635
Pretty much what that anon said, but my take is that it will be more "comfortable" than that. The government will do everything in its power to keep you just comfortable enough while harvesting you for every penny they can and keeping you under surveillance, that you don't want to risk anything by trying to do something about it.

I'm sad to say it, but there won't be a SHTF, just a gradual retreat into one's home as everything outside your walls is JUST bad enough that you don't want to go outside.

Basically it's not going to be like Mad Max 2, it's going to be like Mad Max 1.

I like to look at the Soviets and the Yugoslavs for collapse signs, but even Rome didn't fall in a day. A society is a big animal, it needs multiple sicknesses working in tandem to slowly erode each system one by one. Any attempt to simply externally kill a civilization almost always fails because you rarely if ever kill every member and truly erase their legacy. Think to how Mexico, despite doing its damndest to scrub out mesoamerican culture, still has tons of Aztec and Mayan influence on their modern culture. What I'm saying is, shit will never just hit the fan one day, there won't be a straw that breaks the camel's back, it's a slow and creeping death that everyone can see coming but nobody is able to stop. All that said, I don't think we're that close, our nation has endured similar or worse situations before and came out the other side intact if not stronger. But then again, the Minoans seemed to have suffered a fairly rapid collapse due to multiple cataclysms hitting them nearly simultaneously, so I guess shit can hit the fan if your society just rolls a series of nat 1s

>won't be a 0 -> 100 SHTF scenario happening where everything goes from normal to fucked in a day or two
When the global credit (debt) market implodes it'll occur in a matter of hours.
Year 2007 when the MBS house of cards went down : if those billion $$ bailouts had not been approved there would have been an immediate credit freeze. <--That is why (if you're old enough to remember 2 decades ago what actually occurred, the sequence of events) top leadership was so vehement and hysterical about approving the too-big-to-fail handouts: Credit freeze was the actual next sequence event.

We're nowhere near close to SHTF you stupid fucking monkey. Countries where people make less than a dollar a day and live in tin shack slums haven't collapsed, wtf makes you think a cushy first world country would? Because milk is a few dollars more? How fucking retarded can you be

It’s not hitting the fan in the “world is ending and we’ll be eating the dogs soon” sense. It’s hitting the fan in the “WWIII is in the slow burning lead up” sense.
>Russia/NK/Ukraine
>US/Israel/Iran
You are here
>China/Taiwan/SEA
The Middle East is always a tinderbox so nobody is really sweating that unless the gas spigot gets fully cut off for an extended period of time which it seems Iran really can’t do. The Houthis going after the Saudi Oil is an escalation but realistically I don’t think anyone expects them to hold it long. Russia has been filling mass graves and lost a fuck ton of money, armor, and ordinance. I think we’re more than halfway through their campaign at this point but far from the end. What happens as Putin ages and the body counts keep climbing for no reason will be interesting. Europe is going to kvetch about gas on all fronts but won’t ever buck up to America and are at this point seemingly afraid of getting involved in Iran because they’ve imported half the Middle East and fear the internal backlash. China only has a limited window to take Taiwan before their population crisis takes hold. The bigger question is will these fronts eventually expand and coalesce or will each major conflict resolve on its own? Thats the deciding factor here. India and Pakistan are always a wildcard to throw in but they’ve been relatively quiet since the last skirmish.

Shits definitely getting hotter though.

This is a concept pushed by Russian bots on social media to destabilize the US and push radicalization narratives that encourage anti-social loners stockpiling weapons for an imagined “doomsday”.

This kind of nonsense is at best a humiliation ritual for failed western males, and at worst an information threat, as someone may take the bait and launch their own “SHTF” in response to fabricated stories online.

SHTF is escapism for retards. You will continue to go to work and pay taxes and the place you live will look and function more and more like Brazil with each passing year. Forget all that prepper shit, start paying closer attention to current events, and get good with a handgun. Oh, and find a way to make more money.
>>
>>65524495
Basically this. Best way to prep is grind your way to upper class so you can live far away from looters. Just keeping a decent food and toilet paper on hand and gas in your car. Also gold.

>worried about it in 2009-2014
Everything is *far* worse 2026
the people online that were 'worried' or discussing it back then, have already built their emplacements i.e. they have "prepped"
Now, people are too brainwashed by post-2010 social-media-era-Of-The-Internet aka the mass dumbing down of human IQ and civilization overall, along with the post-2022 AI hoax gigahype (ohnoes muh agi gonna take obbbbber duhhhh wurrrrrld in 2 wks) fearmongering that the world leadership is foisting on all populace, that no one even comprehends let alone discusses the imminent total financial implosion of human civilization (that even now the U.S. Treasury secretary is still plate-spinning staving off by refinancing maturing debt).
Suffice to say no one on the internet least of all kek, 4chan is going to have a large enough comprehension capacity to understand what's occurring rn September 2026.
There's never been a more opportune or appropriate moment to get ready for The Big One because it's already here

Not talking about "muh u.s. currency" (You) implying that any of this is somehow about 'collapse of the United States', DUMB FUCK brainlet. Holy fuck are (You) Fucking Stupid, banner example of the retarded Dunning-Kruger 35-IQ incomprehension prior^ referenced.
Entire global system is debt based, and the UST is the default reserve foundation brick of that system everyone relies on.
World debt aka bond market has been more volatile and unstable during the past four years than in half a century. Half a century ago, the magnitude of global debt was one-twelfth what it is today 2026.
The global debt >>65524159 system functions on the basis of confidence in the worldwide bond market i.e. the stability and reliability of bond yields. Nobody is buying the debt. U.S. Treasury Secretary has been attempting to rearrange the deck chairs by swapping-out short term for long but the core problem (from the United States fedgov standpoint) is U.S. Congress spending at $2+ trillion/year at which rate the Treasury hits the total default brick wall in four years from now.
Global debt market won't last nearly that long.

All I can say is that the liquidity situation rn late 2026 is way, *way* worse than 2007 or any year since. On global scale, not just one particular country, people, or continent

Here's (for the financially aware aka Economics 201-level students) a prescient December 2019 panel right before covid hit:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMHQaxd5N-Q

(and btw the reason for covid/never-before-in-human-history global lockdown/the virus itself being released from lab, was to re-Liquidify global markets thanks to the mid-2019 overnight repo crisis)
