Any recomendations for home defense chainsaws? Whats the best way to store fuel in your bedroom? Any tips for proper technique etc?
>>65525402Yes, don't do it unless it's literally the only thing on hand.
>>65525402My shitty blue state banned assault chainsawsI have a folding pocket saw I used for home defense.Silky makes a good one
>>65525402>on handOk.
>>65525487>not going katanaboyDude.
>>65525402>Any recomendations for home defense chainsaws? Ryobi>Whats the best way to store fuel in your bedroom? Electric.>Any tips for proper technique etc?Handgun.
>>65525507I could saw a katana in half easyMy blade too was folded over 10000 times in japan
>>65525526Dipshit.
>>65525402Install motion-activated sawblades in your walls instead. You won't even have to get up.
>>65525402>Any recomendations for home defense chainsaws?I'd recommend you buy an older product from that company instead.
>>65525770The Lahti pistol is so cool, it's like the Daewoo K2 to a Luger's M16.
>>65525402electric is the way to go, corded, not battery. make sure you've got a good long extension cord on a spool. keep it in a plastic box so you don't get chain oil on your floor and take the gay tip guard off.
>>65527428>electric is the way to goOh yeah, I really want a saw drive that chainsaw chaps won't stop and that electrocutes me when I'm cleaning up storm damage. Genius.
>>65525614>the penitent man kneels before the breath of God
>>65527678We're talking about home defense saws, not yard work saws. There's a big difference.
>>65525402Electric, unironically.
>>65527678>chainsaw chaps won't stopQRD?
>>65525402Protip: Don't do thing that imitate horror movies. Also look into insulation foam shear saws instead of chainsaws.
>>65527678>chainsaw chaps won't stopseems like a feature
>>65528088>>65529214Hmm. Ok. For home defense inside the home, maybe it's better to have an instant on chainsaw that can't be stopped easily with chainsaw chaps.>>65528099Chainsaw chaps are designed to clog and stall a gas-powered saw with a clutch. They do this almost instantly. Electric saws have high-torque direct drives and standard chaps don't stop them fast enough. Even chaps rated for electric saws won't stop an electric saw as fast as standard chaps stop a gas saw. The stop time is the difference between getting your workpants scratched and getting a three-quarter inch deep gash across your leg. There are other reasons that electric chainsaws suck, but that's the most important one to me.
>>65525402Fuel doesn't store long at ALL. At least, gasoline doesnt. You can't prep gas that comes from a pump sadly
>>65528099>>65529976It's just chainsaw fuddlore (Bunyanlore?). Tests show cut protection rated for the correct level for the saw work do just as well against electric as they do a two smoke saw. It doesn't rely on stalling the engine, it relies upon the fibres wrapping the sprocket causing the chain to go tighter than guinea pig pussy and jam on the sprocket and bar. The idea that your average poofter little electric saw has such magically different torque curves that they'll just walk straight through is hilarious.
>>65530223>Fuel doesn't store long at ALL. At least, gasoline doesntJust buy alkylate saw gas, ethanol-free and specifically for chainsaws. It lasts many years, even in the tank of the chainsaw.
>>65530223A bottle of Stabil is like $7
>>65530483I feel as though it was originally a CYA from the chap makers just in case, and people saw that and boomer extrapolated it to "muh DeWalt gon cut rite troo dem pants." Like how people think kevlar hard expires after 5 years because manufacturers don't want to wager their business on decades of cops neglecting and abusing their kit.
>>65530223I'm running gas (I put stabilizer in) from 2019 in my mower right now.
>>65530223You're supposed to constantly be rotating your stash.
>>65531338The chap makers would not have said anything.Chaps are rated by coverage and chain speed, torque is not a consideration. The big saws will easily out torque any regular electric saw and chaps still stop those.
>>65530223Aspen 2 is great. Stopped all the ethanol related problems in my 2 stroke equipment. Also be aware of kickback, anons.
>>65525402Chainsaws aren't actually all that good for this
>If your daily saw doesn't start in at least three pulls, go electric or actually learn your saw.>Fuck you, I got to run these at 7400 ft above sea level, I'm always going to run an aftermarket or modded exhaust and an oiled foam air filter.>Do not fucking talk to me if you're running a standard sized sprocket and anything less than partial skip chain.>No you do not need a three foot bar on a 70cc or smaller, your limp wrists cannot handle that kickback from when you inevitably use to top half of the tip.>Full wraps are for homosexuals that leave high stumps and refuse to swallow.
More of a terror weapon than a practical weapon designed to stop a threat, but I guarantee Tyrone, Muhammad, or (you) couldn't stand up to a weed wacker used in anger.
>>65537512>weed wackerThis nigga doesn't even know about the brush cutter blade.
>>65537638The last evil dead movie actually had a brush cutter being used rather than a chain saw. A mulching blade would also do some damage.
>>65537638They look cool but I've always been fond of the bladed Nigger Whipper 9000 type of attachments for big jobs
>>65537491Feelings on .325 users?
>>65528154These things are great for dealing with stuff low down. Dump the blade afterwards.
>>65527428>take the gay tip guard off. This man fucks without rubbers.
>>65528086Nicely done.
>>65529976>There are other reasons that electric chainsaws suck, but that's the most important one to me.So stop trying to cut your own leg off. Jeez.
>>65534493FIFO is alien tech to the faherless.
>>65525402I use chainsaws to fell trees on the daily. They are fucking terrible self defense weapons, you retard, it should be obvious why.>way too heavy to swing at speed>incredibly short reach, even with some of the longer bars, because you have to keep the weight somewhat close to your body>incredibly fucking loud, the best effect that starting a chainsaw will have against potential home invaders is scaring the living shit out of them>functionally useless and probably jammed after goring one guy, will also get stuck as the guy’s upper torso slams down on the bar and pinches it.>you’re honestly more likely to hurt yourself with it using it indoors because of kickback, also can’t make stabbing motions because of kickbackJust don’t even bother, even a battery powered drill would be better as a weapon, better yet, use a fucking axe if you insist on a logger themed melee weapon.
>>65525487>silkyGood taste, they make some fine saws.
>>65527678This is complete and utter horseshit btwI’ve tested professional level stihl electric chainsaws on old chaps before. No, electric chainsaws are pretty much objectively better IF you ignore the massive downside that they’re fuckoff heavy for their level of power output and you have to be a good goy and shell out tons of money for swappable batteries should you want to use one for longer than an hour.
>>65540929Attacking your robber with a maul would be an unexpected development.
I can't think of a worse thing to use as a weapon. I mean other than all the other things but a hammer would be a massive step up
>>65525514>Ryobi>Electric.Gay>>65525402>Whats the best way to store fuel in your bedroom?Next to a cracked open window>Any tips for proper technique etc?Keep it running when you go to sleep, because they can be a bitch to start. I have to refuel mine once per night but it's still nice to have it there to mask the tinnitus. I gave my wife tinnitus so she wouldn't complain about the chainsaw in the bedroom
>>65540929That's why you go for an under-gooch cut so the kickback drives the saw up the gooch, past the arsehole and out toward the balls. Honestly, a 200 or 161 would be better than anything else. Small and light enough to swing and stab with.
>>65546443>Small and light enough to swing and stab withMy 880 with 13' of screaming chain will block hallways and reach across rooms. No need to swing.
>>65546472>6 foot barDoubt
>>655464432511 to honor the Samurai.
>>65545632>Ryobi>Electric>GaySo are pumpkin spice pancakes, but I prefer those too.
>>65528098thiseasy to use, starts up quickly, doesnt make noise when youre not using it, still pretty powerful. If youre determined to use a chainsaw for self defense, that's the way to go.
>>65548422Make your pancakes with pic related or related
>>65544430?
>>65550512Electric hedge-trimmers are great. Will hang onto my gas saws still.
