What's the best way to mentally prepare yourself for combat without actually being in combat?

>>65527872Vehicle assault dismounts are really chaotic but one way to prepare for that is to just drive chaotically a lot, like if you're driving down the highway you should just go really fast while randomly jerking the wheel left and right. Careen across lanes. Don't use turn signals. Also bring friends and have them aim guns out the windows and get them to pump their fists if other drivers get too close while shouting "imshi!!! imshi!!!"

You can't really prepare mentally. In fact I'd say the more you think about it beforehand the more likely you are to be scared when the time comes. Reaction to stress is variable from people but from my experience (Afghanistan) there are 3 categories of people : those who treat it like any other job, the psychos who enjoy it and the cowards who lose all their abilities. If you belong in the later category sadly there's not much you can do. Best is don't enlist and if you do stay away from combat roles for your sake and the sake of your comrades.
