I am looking for decent drone flight sims. Preferably mil-sims. Pic related comes recommended. Anything else?
>>
>>65538857
Isn't that just a clone of FPV Kamikaze Drone?

Idk the screenshot in OP's pic seems to be the shotgun drone from vidrel (mobik kill at the end)
>>
>>65538857
Firehawk FPV is aracdey on the surface but the flying physics are realistic enough that you can use it to develop muscle memory.
>>
>>65538857
While not military LiftOff is the most realistic I have used, I heard UFDS is great but haven't tried it.
>>
>>65538857
Not a specific drone sim but Arma 3 is still very decent with the right mods and you can set up pitched battles between NPCs if you want to.
>>
>>65538857
The AFU use modded GTA V to train, so there's that.
>>
>>65538857
Please let it have a scene of a mobik trying to climb in a window as the drone hit him right in the buttocks.

It's basically a recoilless rifle scaled down to drone size.
>>
>>65539142
so it use regular 12 gauge and blow the shell out the back ?
>>
>>65539149
The old design used two shells firing in opposite directions but I'm not sure if they still do it that way.
>>
>>65539142
I bet these can even get loaded with just a high PSI air load can + some metal BBs to take out other drones, after all once they lose their hover ability its almost impossible for one of these to recover mid air.
Seems PCPs will be more mainstream in warfare than we thought, just not in the way everyone thought.
>>
>>65538857
All flight games are drone games
>>
>>65538857
The real ones like the real full version of ufds are locked behind these emails. Parent company of Solidworks has it.

I’ve spent the last year trying to get access for R&D work on drones (I’m a machinist who uses cad and flies drknes currently have dozens of commercially available designs through my own llc and several hundred under a previous employer)

But they won’t give access
>>
>>65539087
Nah they use that as a toy, mainstream media outlets who don’t know the difference between a DJI Mavic and a 6S lipo , or the difference between opentx and effect and why it matters spread that rumor

You know how the media gets everything wrong about guns? They know even less about drones
>>
>>65538902
It's early days but maybe my dream of seeing WVR dogfights will finally be fulfilled.
>>
>>65538857
UFDS is damn fucking good. I hope someone leaks the full military version someday.

LiftOff is great for general flight training too.
>>
>>65538857
Bodycam (the video game) has FPV drones now.
but from what i've seen they act and behave more like racing FPVs and not like drones strapped with payloads.
>>
>>65539194
well yeah. Ziggers would be looking to get their own hands on it too so of course they are paranoid with it

>>65539329
only after the war and new gen of flying murder bots have replaced these first geners
>>

>>65538925
>Firehawk FPV
>LiftOff
alright thanks. added to watch list

Talking about simulators. Can you use a real drone controllers with PC stimulators? What models if yes?
>>
File: 1790368475356377.png (243 KB, 620x695)
243 KB PNG
>>65540952
Yes. The likes off UFDS and Liftoff recommends defaulting to one over something like a xbox controller for better and different feel flight control. I settled on a Radiomaster TX12 MKII as a mid road variant that is not too expensive (120 USD). It has USB-C port for connecting with the PC

Imo worth it if you are serious about it and might move on to real drones down the line

>>65540952
The GX12 is as close as you can get to a military-grade transmitter on the civilian market. The only thing missing is signal encryption, which it can do if you flash it with PrivacyLRS and at that point it's no different from what they use on the frontline.

the compatibility is decent. Not only can you use real drone controllers, that have USB ports, with PC sims. But you can also use VR headsets, like Quest 3, to use as a FPV headset on real drones
>>
>>65538857
Anyone else think it will be revealed in a few years that ukies/russkies had outsourced their drone piloting to unsuspecting gamers? I really hope so.
>>
>>65541287
Nah, it makes for a cool scifi premise but back in reality you don't want randoms seeing if friendly fire is on with real drones.
>>
>>65540969
>>65540982
Talking about theirs sticks, which one are better?
>>
>>65541123
>But you can also use VR headsets, like Quest 3, to use as a FPV headset on real drones
I'm kind of doing this with a Walksnail VRX and an Xreal 1S video glasses set.
In that I'm still building the drone and have been using the glasses to practice with Radiomaster pocket and simulator on my laptop.
The goal for me is to be able to sit in my car in the parking lot at work and fly while not looking like a weirdo with a quest strapped to my head.
So far it's working well with sim, I'm a bit nervous about latency once I actually get the drone flying, but we'll see.

>So far it's working well with sim, I'm a bit nervous about latency once I actually get the drone flying, but we'll see.
dont sims have latency options?
>>
>>65541563
The sticks are a matter of personal preference but the stick itself is just a little piece of metal that screws onto the gimbal so you can easily replace them if you don't like them. There are plenty of options for customization.
>>
>>65541816
I think so, but it's sort of an untested configuration so I'm nervous latency might be TOO much for it to be viable.
It's going VRX->HDMI/USBC converter->Xreal glasses.
In my bench testing you can tell there's some delay, but it's very difficult to gauge, and I'm not sure how it's going to translate once the drone is airborne.

>>65538925
Can Liftoff work on Debian Linux? I'd really like to get a drone simulator for Linux so I don't have to deal with Winblows.
>>
>>65544459
No idea but a mate that runs Arch says Wine is pretty good these days.
>>
>>65538902
Wait, is that a real video?

What was the red blob carried under the drone in the second-to-last section?
>>
>>65541563
Some pro pilots fly without sticks they just thumb the gimbals

Pinching might be good if you’re a noob though
>>
>>65544459
Liftoff isn’t good

Get uncrashed
>>
>>65540952
Yes

All of em
>>
>>65540969
>>65540982
They look like they're upset
>>
>>65544466
yes it is real. as for that red pouch I speculate it was a resupply run with the bag in a bright color so you can easily find it when the drone drops it. But on the other hand its a zigger drone and they don't really do gay stuff like supply the sacrificial meat on the front
>>
>>65538857
i have 3 drone sims, they are all aimed at different things. that one is decent if you want to know how heavier drones behave (1 kg +) the game itself is kind of lacking , i enjow so much more the freestyle based ones. velocidrone is old and expensive but has amazing map variety uncrashed has easier physics but amazing customization variety liftoff is good too but its aimed at 5 inch so you will not be able to fly a 7 + inch there
>>
>>65538925
Liftoff is literally what the Ukrainians use to train their operators, so obviously going to highly recommend this one.
>>
>>65544587
why isn't it good?
>>
>>65540969
could have gone with the boxer for 20 more , its a serious improvement in capabilities
>>
>>65545982
Is there really that big of a difference between light weights and heavies aerodynamically? Like if you can handle a leather light small drone that is really receptive to winds and such, surely you can deal with a big boy that feels more "numb" to handle and less influenced by weather
>>
>>65546019
yes, power to weight ratio changes dramatically on the heavier side, you have to manage inertia a lot more. controls are the same though so realitically you can learn thos in any sim
>>
>>65546029
a 5 inch has a power to weight ratio of 6 to 1 or more
a 7+ inch with load has around 3 to 1
>>
>>65546019
The main difference is that you have to go much harder on the throttle. On a light drone you're very rarely going above 90% but on a heavy drone you're doing it every time you want to change direction.
>>
>>65545993
Probably the shitty graphics compared to others.
IMO it has the best flight sim but it does look a little shitty.
>>
>>65545999
boxers are 50-60 bucks more expensive where I am. Willing to stick near 100, but not go close to 200 until I feel a need for it

To be honest a game entirely about controlling drones seems really dull, unless its linked up to a real life battlefield like in the movie Toys theres alot more interesting warfare scenarios to be playing.
>>
>>65546695
Loved this movie but it didn't quite get the publicity it needed
>>
>>65546695
I could see it working as an exploration kind of game. Something like STALKER but the entire zone is too radioactive for humans so you have to use survey drones to map out the area, bomber drones to kill off the mutants and cargo drones to grab the loot.
>>
>>65538857
I remember downloading some FPV simulator a few years ago as a torrent and the ENTIRE fucking seed list was literally 50/50 Russian and Ukranian ips kek
>>
>>65546695
>>65546735
racing with VR headset is awesome. Perfect for putting a podcast in the background and then gliding around
>>
>>65546695
They are a training tool, I would only recommend getting a high fidelity drone sim if you are / want to fly real drones.
It's a great way to practise hard stuff without changing batteries every 5 minutes or breaking parts when you crash.
